HUGE brunch buffet on display that looked delicious - but I had my mind set on their absolutely delicious, platter-sized pancakes! Rich, fluffy, and perfectly sweet with the addition of their secret sweet butter and syrup. And the eggs are brought out nice and juicy with the very tasty, locally-sourced bacon. Service is friendly and warm. View is amazing of the Arch and their outdoor terrace. Love going here for a big breakfast, and love being able to make a reservation too. Thank you!!

Ambiance was nice although a little too dark to read the menu. Staff was very friendly and accomadating. Food was tasty and fresh with an elegant presentation. Outdoor patio area was very inviting. My husband liked that they offered a cigar selection as well.

The restaurant views are spectacular! It was cool when we went, but there is a great outdoor patio as well. The service was terrific as well. They did offer a vegetarian menu along side the regular menu, which was great for some of our guests. The regular menu had plenty of choices but did not offer any poultry dishes, which was surprising. The food was great, except for one of our meals. The pork chop was very large, it was cooked good but half the chop was very fatty - obviously not a very good cut of pork or it was not trimmed well. Other than that the rest of the food was outstanding, including the swordfish!

After informing the host it was my mom's first time in the city, I was hoping for a table with a great view. Instead we were seated directly behind an enormous potted plant and a table of 12 with an infant. The food was pretty good but the bloody mary bar confused my poor old mom and they were too busy behind the bar to offer assistance. The service was excellent.

  • Another Marvelous Meal at Cielo
    OpenTable Diner Since 2009

Dazzling view, aim-to-please personnel, gorgeous setting, positive energy. Service a bit off. Had to wait 10 mins for tea + another 10 mins for the simple syrup sweetener. Ran out of crackers & olive oil; no more offered to replenish as waited for our meals. 15 minutes to get the "Kitchen Sink" dessert (which i highly recommend - a fantastic assortment of six small scoops of sorbet and gelato, perfect for sharing). The slight hiccups in service were only noticed by me and did not mar the overall experience. The food was up to Cielo's typical superb standards, the salmon perfectly cooked, the vegetables vibrant and crisp, the soup of the day an amazing melange of kale, white beans and pork. All in all, a great dining experience.

  • The kitchen was having a bad day

    Dined on 9/21/2014
I love coming to Cielo, but the kitchen must have been having a really bad day during my last visit because it took us 2 1/2 hours to have brunch. Although the restaurant wasn't even half full, the wait staff was clearly stressed and nothing was coming out of the kitchen. Even the bottomless bloody mary bar was empty. It was a very strange. Once the food arrived, it was just as wonderful as it normally is, but we had not planned for it to take all day. There didn't seem to be any leadership in the restaurant (I'm not sure where the managers were) and there was no communication as to why everything was taking so long.

We celebrated our anniversary at Cielo as our first experience was so good. We were not disappointed. We preferred the 4-course tasting menu. Great Opportunity to try items one might not regularly order out. Rabbit Ravioli were excellent, seared scallops, Lamb Chops, Albacore Tuna and of course desert were all quite tasty and excellently presented. Service was very good with a minimum 7 people with various titles and duties visited out table. A slight delay in receiving entrée was hardly noticed as the evening weather was perfect. The Sommelier was well versed on the wines and steered us to a bottle that was appropriate based on our tastes. Overall - We will return!

As soon as we stepped out of the elevator we knew we were not going to be happy with Cielo.Noise level was extreme, music blaring, guests' voices very loud. We were seated at a table with a nice view of the arch. This turned out to be one of the best things about the restaurant; the other was Patrick, our server. Could not hear each other.Ordered corn soup, good taste, not hot enough, and octopus carpaccio, which had a very minimal amount of octopus. Main courses of rabbit filled ravioli and mushroom risotto. The ravioli were average and the risotto was just undercooked rice with mushrooms. The taste was good but it definitely was not "risotto". The Barolo wine was excellent. Dress code should be enforced.Baseball caps and shorts, unacceptable

This was the first time we had been to Cielo. Service was prompt and the wait staff did an excellent job. The food was very good. We had a selection from the menu that allowed us to choose from a small selection of appetizers, mains and desserts. What we had was very good. This is definitely a place for a special occasion as the prices are on the high side but on the other hand you are at the Four Seasons.

The food is fantastic. If you like the St. Louis skyline and over the top Italian food, then Cielo is for you. The staff is fantastic and the food is twice that. Their wine by the glass is amazing. Where does a restaurant bring the bottle to the table. Let you taste before you buy. Great concept and one I wish more would employ.

We loved it. Service was impeccable. They made sure that we had what we needed, but gave us the privacy we needed to celebrate our special evening. While it is pricey, we did not feel that the prices were out of line - comparable to other fine dining establishments that we've been to in other big cities. Decent wine list and sommelier was knowledgeable and unpretentious. the only thing that we did not like was the outdoor seating right on top of the pool area. We were dressed up in business casual as were other couples and there were people dripping wet in bathing suits running around the same area.had we eaten inside, we probably would not have noticed it. Still worth going up for the view and we will be back for dinner sometime.

My husband and I went to Cielo for our anniversary and loved it! I had the lamb, and dispite it being a bit under cooked when it initially came out it was delicious! My husband had the dry aged ribeye and cleaned his plate. His steak was cooked perfectly. Our server was excellent. Not too present, but always available if we needed him and have great recommendations. We would love to go back!

Great view, but a little disappointing to be sitting dressed up and paying for pricey dinner with people (hotel guests) parading thru dining area (and some dining in) in swimwear. Service was spotty. We were served almost 30 minutes after the four top next to us and they ordered after us. Also there were many open tables yet they seated us directly next to another party even though we had told them we were celebrating our anniversary.

I decided to have one splurge on my otherwise rather fiscally responsible vacation to St. Louis. So worth it!!. The view from the rooftop was spectacular, and once the maitre d' realised that I was lugging a camera bag around, he set me up with a great table and gave me tips and pointers as to what time the lighting would start to impact the arch. The food was superb and for a change the portions were not overwhelming. I read many reviews say that their portions were small, but in reality they are the correct size that is served elsewhere in the world. The flavour combinations were fantastic and the cocktails matched just as well. Everyone was very attentive, but not intrusive. All in all, a great evening with some wonderful pictures

We have had great so many experiences at Cielo that we now love to make reservations and then savor the anticipation. The new chef lived up to our anticipation again this time. Seafood and beef were both beautifully prepared. The wine list offered terrific choices, and the sommelier knew his list and helped us pick a white (Gaja) and a red (a 1997 York Creek) that we loved. Very pleasant.

Our family dined outside and despite the drizzle, it was wonderful to have a view of the Arch and there was a nice breeze. We were under cover so the drizzle did not hamper the evening. The food was great although the lamb slightly overdone. The presentation of the food was wonderful and inviting. The wine mark-up is significant. The waiter and Maitre d' were very hospitable and took care care of us. I would definitely recommend others to this restaurant and I will most certainly visit again.

Services were disjointed. Table helpers and our waiter not communicating. Helpers were clueless what dishes he was bringing out and for whom. Waiter wasn't around much. We ordered 3 appetizers and 4 entrees. One entree was a multicourse meal. The entrees arrived first. Appetizers were no where to be found. The helpers had no idea. A few min later the waiter came out and told us that they were being prepared. In the end, we were not charged for the 3 appetizers (nice of them). Later we asked one of the helpers for a dessert menu and he said he'll be back in 2 min. He never returned. We asked another waiter and we didn't see it either. Then our waiter appeared and we again asked for the dessert menu and finally got it.

We sat outside and enjoyed the view and perfect temperature. The staff made this restaurant. They were all so attentive and helpful. Their wine list, though small, has a selection of unusual bottles--well priced and delicious. I will definitely return

We were more than pleasantly surprised with the great staff, the wonderful atmosphere, the superb food and the great experience we had on Tuesday evening. I have gone to a lot of new restaurants that were pleasant but probably a one time experience--this is not one of those. We will definitely revisit the restaurant and I've already told several people of our wonderful experience. It was definitely noteworthy! And considering that it is approximately a 50 minute drive for us to get there you have to know I was impressed.
