Cielo Restaurant and BarSaturday BrunchMom ordered lobster ravioli (fantastic), sister had blueberry creme brulee french toast (amazing), and I ordered the white chocolate chip blueberry pancakes (the chips melted like butter atop what have been called, "the best pancakes in the country"--I think they very well may be. The texture was lovely and the flavors were complimented elegantly by an aromatic pot of Rishi blueberry rooibos tea. Afterwards we visited the rooftop seating/longing area-such beauty and vibrant colors in an otherwise "dilapidated and sometimes graffiti-laced" location should probably be considered an oasis.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNot what it's hyped up to beThe service was great, the view was amazing, but the food was mediocre. No wonder this Four Seasons restaurant isn't as expensive as most other Four Seasons restaurants. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out well done. I sent it back and the next steak was cooked medium and was butterflied to decrease the cook time. It wasn't a high quality filet either. The food, service, ambiance and view were all superb. The only downside is the music. While they should be playing soft, quite and romantic jazz or classical music, they were playing pop and dance music which was totally out of character for the restaurant. The food and service was wonderful. They even treated us to champaign and strawberries to celebrate. Our expectations are pretty hign, and Cielo did not disappoint us. We were lucky enough to get a window table overlooking the river, arch and downtown. Got to be one of the best views in the city. The food was excellent and inovative. My wife had the veal and I had a striped bass special. It was a busy Saturday night, but both of our meals were prepared perfectly. Service was great, and the wine list on an iPad was a fun innovation.
While not cheap, I felt the the prices were very fair for the quality of the meal.

There was a beautiful view, unfortunately, they have over 1/2 of the tables set up so that only 1/2 of the table gets to see the view, the other half is facing a wall. When we got the bill for $171.00 for 2 of us...we were shocked to say the least..when I looked this restaurant up on Open Table it read $$, which is usually reasonably priced...We enjoyed the brunch very much, and loved the view, but this price was sadly ridiculous. We had wonderful service, we all decided on the Tasting Menu and it was definitely the way to go. The chef prepares delicious items and the Tasting Menu is a nice touch for those who want to sample more items from the menu. Be aware they truly are sample size portions on the tasting menu, but still delicious. The bar has bleu cheese stuffed olives which are always a welcome feature!
