  • "We loved just being able to walk across the street and be served within 5 minutes of the play ending. Very pleaseantly surprised by the unique menu. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. All the dinners were delicious!"

  • "The ambiance and decor of this restaurant is outstanding. Even though the pastas were all made from scratch mine lacked salt although some people may not like salt in their food. The portions were not as large as expected for an Italian restaurant so therefore a little pricey for the portions. Went there because of it being part of Playhouse Square and very convenient to the theaters. Would go back again for that reason alone."

  • "We dine frequently at Cibreo--primary before going to the theater. Food is consistently solid, and the service has gotten very sharp in the few months it has been open."

  • "Cibreo understands that folks must be out on time for the theatre, so they are efficient in getting guests served. The food was interesting and very good. We made reservations for another night in May."

  • "I order the veal parmigan the portion was plenty. My husband ordered the linguini with the clams and the portion was really small for a guy, thank god he ate 4 pcs of bread"

  • "No rush here, just a nice enjoyable evening. The food was great and the service was excellent, never rushed. We were able to enjoy our meal at a nice slow pace. Nice selection of wines by the glass and bottle."

  • "Visited prior to a show at Playhouse Square. Knew nothing about it other than we had seen it on prior visits to the theater. Was very happy with our meal and with our service. We ended up with a table right next to the kitchen which did not turn out as badly as it does many times. Server was very attentive, answered all our questions. Definitely a very interesting menu and allowed us to try some things we had never had before including a ricotta based cheesecake which was good and my wife had two flavors of gelato which she said was about the best she ever had only surpassed by some she had in Italy. I had the veal parmigiano which was two large cuts served with spaghetti that was excellent. My wife had the fish of the day, great."

  • "Food is tasty, service is great and it is so convenient before a show. They really do try to accommodate theatre-goers. Although it's a bit over priced, I suppose you're paying for that level of convenience."

  • "We tried Cibreo for the second time and it did not dissapoint. We had a large party and the service was outstanding and the food delicious."

  • "We had dinner after attending an afternnon play at the Allen on this past Saturday. The service, our waiter Manuel was wonderful, very attentive, charming, informative and helpfull. Our dinner was excellent, love the new decor. A great assest to Playhouse Square."

  • "The food was wonderful, but the waitress Tonya was less than stellar. She kept forgetting drink refills and she would disappear for long intervals. She scooped up the crumbs for the table and then dumped them on the floor. The food is excellent."

  • "I was looking for a different restaurant to try downtown and a friend recommended Cibreo to me, I checked out the menu and it sounded good. I made a reservation since it was a Saturday night, but since it's right in Playhouse Square by 7:30 it was mostly cleared out by all the people going to see a show. The waiter was really knowledgeable on the menu and gave different recommendations depending on what you were in the mood for. Even though when we came in the restaurant was packed our salad and food came out in a very timely fashion. I ordered the Bolognese it was delicious and my husband ordered the lasagna it was really cheesy and delicious. I had to try the gelato which was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal."

  • "I'm italian, its hard to impress me with meatballs, but the meatballs at Cibreo are awesome! I've had them twice, and they have been consistently good!"

  • "Food was good but not amazing. Fine for dinner before a show as the location is great! Beware they will offer you water which is actually bottled spring water and they will hit you with a $5 charge! I should have just got a glass of wine."

  • "I was very disappointed when Bricco moved out of Playhouse Square. Cibreo is the new restaurant that moved into the space formerly occupied by Bricco. The menu is impressive and the food delicious. Unfortunately the server was unfamiliar with the wine list and unable to answer questions about the dishes (didn't even offer to find out the answers for us). Also our table was in a corner and a little too dark. We could have used a candle or small lamp - had to use the light on my cell phone to read the menu. Cibreo is relatively new and has a few kinks to work through. Nonetheless, the food was very good so I hold high hopes for this restaurant and will be back in the future."

  • "This is the second time coming to Cibreo for a pre- theater dinner. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated on time and service was excellent. The food came out quickly. and the server brought us our check as requested, and we were on our way. Love the location and ambiance. Will be back again."

  • "This is the first true Italian restaurant in Cleveland. What a gem - the pasta is elegant and light. One can eat a handsome sized entre and feel just right, not full. The servers knowledge of the dishes and the wines and why someone would or would not want grated cheese on a particular dish is impressive. Also the most romantic atmosphere I've experienced in Cleveland!"

  • "This restaurant had all the makings of a great romantic dinner. But the waiter kept trying to rush us through our courses and it took a long time for our drinks to come. The dinner came before our salads were taken away. The food was ok but with much less flavor than we expected for the price. It was theater night and this eateries is right across the street from the show. Another time might be better."

  • "Took my boyfriend there for his 21st birthday. It was great the service was great, the wine choice was notale, and the food was delicious. I tried the Pork Osso [...] after hearing so many people rave about it. The polenta that came with the dish was deliciously creamy and rich. He got the Bolognese, which I absolutely loved! I plan on going back and trying something else from the menu."

  • "I thought it was a very good looking restaurant that is conveniently located right across the street from Playhouse Square. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food while wasn't bad by any means was a little overpriced for what you received. I thought it was tasty but then again I also don't mind the food chains like Brio or Bravo which I find the food comparable to this place and a little less costly. If I am going to spend $30 or more a plate I want it to be worth it. I would still recommend this place to a friend going to a show downtown. I thought it was a great little place with a friendly staff. Just a tad overpriced."

  • "My friends and I were on our way to see Tyler Perry's play. What impressed us the most is that our waiter knew a lot about Tyler Perry. He took care of us and didn't ignore us. He was very energetic and nice. When I ordered a dish that was suppose to shrimp free. Although the dish did have shirmp (which I am allergic ) the waiter reacted quickly, making sure I had a better dish. This is the best place to dine when going to the theatre. Better than Cowell and Hubbard. We plan on going back in October"

  • "We went to the restaurant before a concert at the Ohio Theater. A feet choice! Food and service were great. Staff professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive and aware of our curtain time. We will return."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner before attending a show at the Playhouse. The service was amazing. Having stolen a bite off of everyones plate, there wasn't anything in our party of 4 that wasn't really good. The burrata was great and the osso bucco were amazing! The gnocchi was pillow light and delicious. Desserts were great as well. The olive oil cake and lemon curd was out of this world!"

  • "For restaurants near Playhouse Square, it's one of the better ones, but compared to the other dining options in Cleveland it ranks somewhere in the middle. The food was not stellar, but it was well-prepared and the staff was friendly and helpgul. If you want to get a nice meal before the theatre, Cibreo is a good choice."

  • "My sisters and I had dinner before a show. It was DELICIOUS! Our salads were fresh and very good. I am always a pain with my Paleo special requests, the waiter did not flinch so my salmon came out perfectly! My sisters ordered pasta which they looooved. Aware of our show time, the waiter gently kept us on schedule. The manager said hello ~ such a nice guy too! The whole experience was delightful! I am definitely going back! PS There is a beautiful event room with a stage and ceiling lights if anyone is looking for a special event venue."

  • "If Chris Hodge knows one thing it's how to frame a meal. This was a return trip and we knew what we were going back for - the bread and the available side options. This time we tried the wild mushrooms and arugula dish which was fantastic. We don't eat bread unless it's worth it and this warm fococcia accompanied by butter/pesto/olive oil (I KNOW) is worth it. Osso Buco was OK, but scallops were perfect. The place is lovely and right across the street from the theaters so the view outside is fun and will only improve with the changes coming to the theater district! Servers have been friendly, entertaining and attentive both times. Overall, nice night and nice food and would recommend trying it out!"

  • "This was our first time Cibreo and I must say it was a great experience. The Monday night special (2 for 40) was excellent and the wine bottle choices were excellent. The Gnocchi is delicious! The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed and you were not rushed. Even when we had somewhere to be, they made sure the food came out on time so that we could have time to eat and relax and still make it to Playhouse. Our waitress was very nice and excellent when it came to serving. The hosts were very friendly as well as the manager. We will definitely be coming back before the Musicals or just to go out to dinner!"

  • "Overall the four of us were very pleased. The food and ambiance were terrific. They are definitely geared to working with a theater crowd so we had no trouble getting to the play on time without feeling rushed. My only complaint was that our waitress started out very attentive and then basically didn't seem interested. We had to flag her down to remember to bring us things she promised and to get a second glass of wine."

  • "Although we love this place for it's convenience to the theaters--this time we went just for the food! My husband wanted their osso bucco for his birthday dinner--which did not disappoint for the 2nd time! The bosc prosecco was a nice starter before dinner--even the garnish was flavorful. I enjoyed aa tender veal parmesean with spaghetti--which the waiter warned was a huge portion. He was right, so I packed half for lunch the next day. The service was excellent. When I mentioned the birthday, our waiter asked us to pick out a dessert--on the house. We ordered a light and creamy tarimisu--very nice. We will be back!"

  • "This was our second visit. We had the same waitress and she was excellent the first time but not so much this time around. She was most personable and professional but we had to,ask several time for that beer, that napkin, extra breadsticks. Put a damper on the evening. The food was OK. my salad was excellent (Panzenella) and the Caprese Salad was ok. Disappointed with the Salmon and clam dish (stingy on the clams). Our first visit we had excellent service, food, etc. The chestnut ravioli was unique but very good. The restaurant is beautiful and you are not jammed into a space with too many tables. I would return...."

  • "The service was very good but a little busy. I know that they are trying to keep us on time for the theatre but it still felt a little rushed. The food is good but very pricey. The asparagus risotto was very tasty and piping hot. I ate every bit. My waiter was working with a trainee and that worked very well. As the theatre district offers more and more to bring us to the area I would like to see some more affordable smaller choices and more vegetarian choices. While vegetarians do not eat meat, carnivores do eat vegetables. Vegan offerings are delicious as well. Vegetarians and vegans do not travel in packs. We eat well with others."

  • "We had a 6:00pm reservation. We were led to a table in the back corner next to the kitchen We asked for a better table as there were several empty two-person tables. We were told all the other tables were "reserved." We ordered the cheeseboard appetizer. When it arrived the toasted bread rounds were burned. Three of them had been turned over to hide the burned parts and the fourth was partially covered by one of the others. The waitress was not around but luckily a manager came by to ask how we were enjoying our meal. When he saw the burned bread he said it should never have left the kitchen and quickly ordered new bread. We are frequent visitors to Playhouse Square and eat downtown often. Hopefully this was a one-time occurrence."
