Not cheap, but the food, service,
and ambience are great!"

Food and service were outstanding.
Actually enjoyed so much that I brought a friend back for lunch a few days later."

Cibo is near my office and
therefore often a go-to place for dinner. The food is always above average (the short ribs are terrific), but just as importantly, the service is impeccable. The waitstaff is attentive without being overbearing and always has great, honest recommendations."

flavoursome dishes (i've been here
a number of times since it's close to our office, and can't say i've ever eaten something i didn't enjoy), great friendly staff, will come back many more times for sure."

This was definitely an A
experience! The ambiance is lovely with white table cloths on tables and in booths. The restauant is large and roomy, tables are not on top of each other (a real plus in NYC). The food was delicious and the presentation was artistic. I had the sirloin with sautéed spinach. The meat was flavorful and the serving was plentiful. My husband had the scallops which were large and beautifully plated, he loved them, and my son raved about the 1/2 chicken which was moist and flavorful. The breads were very good, served with oil and a soft cheese which we couldn't stop eating. I think Zagats was a little too tough on this very delicious and satisfying experience, this was better than many I've tried with Zagats 22-23 rating."

In the middle of the very
commercial Grand Central area, CIBO provides the attention, ambiance and delicious food to shake off the day and feel well taken care off."
Dined on 1/28/2014
Very quiet when we were there,
must've been a slow night. Food and service was very good, but too expensive, there are better places out there for these prices."
Dined on 1/20/2014
A resonably priced prix fixe
lunch. Nothing special about the food. Pleasant service. Miniature cannoli served with the check were a nice touch. Just fine for a weekday lunch but not much to make one remember this place."
Dined on 1/13/2014
y, i was immediately greeted and
shown to my table. i should mention that i went for a late lunch so the place was quiet..which for me is a home run. We started with one of their specialty drinks a pomegranite martini whic was the perfect selection. they serve a great breadbasket with ricotta cheese and olive oil..excellent. we shared the buratta and tomato salad which was garnished with a berry and was delicious. i had the cod and garlic mashed potatoes.and wilted spinach. It was good but there are better choices on the menu. my friend had the tuna with risotto and we finished it off with homemade tiramisu which was out of this world. I will definitely go back for dinner. if I didn't mention it the service was great too."

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent
NewYear's Eve meal at Cibo. We have eaten there a number of times and we have always been very pleased."

We had a great time in Cibo. The
dinner and the inviroment were great."

We just returned from a lovely
Christmas Eve Dinner at Cibo. Upon our arrival we were greeted immediately and entered a festive atmosphere for the Holidays. All of the staff were professional and courteous. The service was exceptional. The cost of our dinner was truly reasonable for the high quality of the food served and the selection was impressive. Thank you to all of you at Cibo for making our Christmas dinner so special. We will be back and we will bring our friends."
Dined on 12/24/2013
We discovered this restaurant one
very snowy white Christmas in 2002. It was so enjoyable we have repeated the tradition for Christmas dinner. The food and service was very good."
Dined on 12/25/2013
This is the third consecutive
Christmas I have taken my Mom here for dinner And Cibo again met my high expectations for great food, service, and ambience."
Dined on 12/25/2013
For a horrible evening head to
Cibo. Service is atrociously bad and the food is barely passable. We were ignored totally once dinner was put n the table. No be checked back to see f everything was ok, which it wasn't. Dishes were whisked away and no one came to take the order for the desert included n the price of dinner. No be came to bring a check to the table - we had to track down the manager to even pay for the dreadful privilege of being there. Avoid this joint.; it doesn't even deserve one star."
Dined on 12/19/2013
Never a bad meal or a bad
experience at Cibo. Great prix fixe, but we often order a la carte."
Dined on 12/15/2013
I booked a table of 10 for our
office holiday luncheon. We were all greeted at the door in a friendly manner and checked our coats. We were seated promptly and our server was nice and friendly. Our appetizers and drinks came out fairly quickly, which was a nice surprise since the restaurant was packed with even bigger parties than ours. The main course was delicious! We did not stay for dessert, but will next time. Would highly recommend Cibo!"

We enjoyed the Prix Fix menu on
Thanksgiving and the presentation and taste was wonderful. The choices of both traditional and eclectic were tasty ( especially the duck ) and the service was excellent. The staff were extremely accommodating with my reservation ( which changed several times prior to meal time) and there was a professional staff but warm family business type atmosphere."
Dined on 11/28/2013
It was ok food but the servings
were too large - they should aim for quality over quantity! Very friendly but the ambiance wasn't much, even though we had a private booth. Not bad for an internet find, and the prices were decent. 1"

Took my family of 6 to Cibo for
Thanks Giving dinner. We are not from NY but Selected the place based on their web site And past comments. We were very pleased The food was delicious, portions generous, Service was good and ambiance very nice With impeccable linen and fresh flowers On the table. Wine good but on the Expensive side. The turkey dinner and Steak were great. All desserts great too."
Dined on 11/28/2013
We were greeted by a very friendly
host...I noted the exceptional fresh flower arrangement and liked the same touch on each table. Our server was warm and energetic. For Thanksgiving dinner, I thought the choices were excellent. Everyone was able to choose something that he/she liked. Unfortunately, two out of the three entress came out cold. The dishes were still excellent upon receiving them back hot. I would still go back to Cibo."

Eight of us enjoyed a birthday
dinner with many wonderful choices. We'll all be back!"

What an excellent place to be when
you are in the UN neighborhood. Food was delicious and the service "fine dining" Wow!"
Dined on 11/23/2013
Of youre in this part of the city,
Cibo is a good place for a lunch with colleagues or friends. It was that type of atmosphere when I was there, anyway. Very good bread and amazing stuffed calamari. Crabcake was so-so. All in all, a good choice for lunch."
Dined on 11/14/2013
Cibo is a great find in the Grand
Central area. The food and service are wonderful, but if nothing else, the banana bread< with special jam, is spectacular."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Very pleasant dining room with
good space between tables and nice flowers - a great start! Service varied between appropriate and no one to be seen. At one point as I deperately tried to cath ANYONE's eye, I watched the manager and one of the two waiters serving our area talk for more than 3 minutes. Finally ordered wine from the bus boy. My app and entree were very tasty, as were my son's. My wife's butternut squash/pear soup was sweet enough to be dessert, as was her duck with pappardelle. How do you screw up duck and fresh pasta? Drown it in a super-sweet syrup instead of sauce. Wines were low priced but lower quality. We skipped dessert. All seemed intermittently interested but their compentence doesn't rise to the same level."

This is an excellent choice if you
are near the United Nations, They have a fantastic lunch deal with may options and the portions are to satified everybody.I loved the food and everything."
Dined on 11/7/2013
My wife and I with two friends had
another excellent meal at Cibo's, where we have been dining for several years when we are in New York City. The food was, as always, excellent but Cibo's is particularly pleasant because of the service. Our server was attentive, friendly and efficient. And the relative quiet of the restaurant made conversation easy and enjoyable."
Dined on 11/9/2013
Cibo is a wonderful, dependable,
friendly restaurant I return to again and again. The wait staff is attentive and the food never disappoints. It's busy at lunch time given its location but slows (and quiets) down at dinner making this a calm oasis just a few easy blocks from GCT. The dinner price fixe is a particularly good deal though all of the menu items are fairly priced and nothing at Cibo will send your wallet into shock. I visited recently with my sister so we could have dinner together on our Mom's birthday. Mom isn't around anymore but I picked Cibo because I love it and knew my sister (and Mom) would, too. This was one dinner in particular I didn't want to go wrong and I knew I could trust Cibo not to disappoint. It didn't."
Dined on 11/1/2013
Food was very good. Service was
very good. Price fix dinner was inclusive. Ambiance was ok. Suitable for tables of 10. Noise level was too high to be romantic. Convenient midtown location."
Dined on 10/15/2013
We have dined at Cibo off and on
for years. I'm happy to say the quality of the food and the service are still excellent. We all ordered the fixe prixe $39. three course dinner, which is a great deal. We ordered the same appetizer-mussels in a tomato sauce. .The mussels were really fresh and the sauce was delicious. We loved the sea scallops ($5. extra), which were accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables. For dessert, I had the bread pudding, one lady had the chocolate gelato and the other had fruit crepes. All were excellent. It's great to have a place that we can depend on to always have a terrific meal in pleasant surroundings. The brunch is also wonderful and a good deal. Go, you won't be disappointed."
Dined on 10/14/2013
Cibo never disappoints. This was
great. They change the menu each season, so we had the new fall menu, which was great. Wonderful service, as always."
Dined on 10/2/2013
And it never disappoints! Service
is always wonderful. The fresh ricotta cheese served with the bread is a lovely treat. The food is always solid and portions are very decent. I recommend this place if you want something just alittle out of the way ( along 2nd avenue in the 30's ) but always good ."

This is a FANTASTIC restaurant
with EXCELLENT food and OUTSTANDING service. Highly recommend giving it a try!!!"
Dined on 9/17/2013
Always a good meal at fair prices,
cozy booths if desired. Great homemade foccacio bread!"
Dined on 9/10/2013
I love this restaurant, very close
to Grand Central and only a few blocks from the Westin Grand Central. The food is always superb! Don't miss this for a great meal if you are close by."
