A word from Cibo Bistro
“Cibo" (pronounced CHEE-bo) means food in Italian, and that’s what this Italian Bistro is all about. We like to keep the menu simple, tasty, and focused, using fresh local ingredients. Cure our own meats, make our own cheese and hand roll our pasta. We try to make almost everything in house with a menu that changes seasonally.

Patio season! Due to the constant changing weather in Edmonton, Cibo Bistro offers their patio on a "first-come, first- serve" basis, so reservations for the patio are not accepted. However, we do promise we'll try our best to accommodate you if you wish to dine outside.

Due to the popularity of our weekends, parties of 4 or less are requested to limit their stay to 2 hours in courtesy of reservations booked after them, thank you in advance.

  • "Delicious food! An English translation would have been nice, but the Italian added a romantic touch to the menu"

  • "We love Cibo. We discovered it soon after they opened a couple of years ago and it just keeps getting better. It's our go to spot for special occasions, romantic dinners, out of town visitors or just when we want to treat ourselves. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Extremely slow service - one server for the whole restaurant - albeit small and crowded. Food was ok but not worth what we paid."

  • "overall it was great, pretty authentic. Wait for the pasta was ok, but it took a little longer for the main dish to come out. Both pasta and the main dish were a tad too salty, it would be perfect if they will use a little less salt. I will definatly give it another try."

  • "I was very disappointed. My friend and I had 3 appetizer dishes that we shared. Each was quite bland and the pasta reminded us of the Olivieri pasta we could buy at Safeway. Will be sticking to Corso 32 for my Italian food fixes."

  • "I am so glad to have discovered this restaurant. The dinners are superb and the menu and specials change often. We have found that the best way to enjoy all this restaurant has to offer is to share everything, from appetizers, pastas, mains and side dishes. The pastas are extremely flavourful, but smaller in size than a main. Staff are friendly and knowledgable about the food and the wine list. My favourite appetizer is the polenta fries - decadent and delicious."

  • "The service took awhile to get started but once started was good. All the dishes at our table, the rabbit, steak and halibut were most enjoyable although the rabbit was a bit dry and we all found the main dishes to be a bit salty. The Trio appetizer was excellent. The lemoncello doughnuts were a light and sinful way to end the evening. Overall we enjoyed the evening."

  • "From the minute we stepped into the restaurant, the aroma from the kitchen told me the food would be delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and courteous. We decided on the Aranchini and Bruschetta to share. From the first taste of the bruschetta (with the quail egg) I was lost in the deliciousness of it. My dining companion loved the aranchini, just enough mint and the sweet peas popped with freshness. We shared the oxtail pasta and the wild boar sausage pasta. The fresh pasta was very toothsome and the ragus meaty and very rich. We also shared the chocolate tart. Plates are very generous and well priced. The restaurant is small, but spacious at the same time. So good! You have to go and eat at Cibo Bistro!"

  • "My husband and I went here for our anniversary and the food and service was all amazing. We will definitely be returning. Portions were great, and the duck was to die for! Oh, and those meatballs!"

  • "This bistro has become one of our favourite restaurants. Everything was excellent from the servers, food and wine!"

  • "Amazing as always, it's the best Italian hands down in edmonton, very underrated!"
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "The pastas here never fail to impress. Always flavorful. The arancini are also amazing, though I would love if you could order them in a half order. Seven arancini is too much for two people which makes it difficult to try out the other delicious appetizers!"

  • "Usually don't write reviews but made an exception for Cibo Bistro! Service was right on the money, food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was just right for our evening out. Exceptional place to go for a great meal."

  • "I am always pleased to have the opportunity to introduce Cibo Bistro to a friend or colleague. I sing their praises so most of my circle is aware of them, but every once in a while I come across someone who hasn't yet had the pleasure. Everyone I take here is impressed by the quality of the food, the great value, the generous portions and the sheer 'wow factor' of the presentation. Always happy to return to Cibo! TT"

  • "Service was great and friendly. The food was the showcase! I can say we shall return for sure. We highly recommend it for true foodies."

  • "Cibo has a good variety of foods. The drinks are more limited to beer and cocktails but it's a decent selection. The duck fat potatoes worked well with the Halibut. Nothing was too sweet or too salty. Freshness is above average and the price is right at the edge of what it should be. This place is good for groups, dates or on your own. After the collapse of the good Bistro Saisons I hope this place will last. Recommended."

  • "We didn't get the meal we ordered (pasta with lamb) and the pasta that we did get was not very good. They acknowledged they made a mistake and did not charge us. However, I will not return, as the food that was served was poor. The waitress was pleasant and apologetic, but what was suppose to be a special lunch was definitely spoiled. There are much better Italian restaurants in Edmonton."

  • "My husband and I loved it, our server was very knowledgable and have us excellent service. Good was delish, we had the bruschetta, the pasta with oxtail (can't remember the name if the type of pasta) and the amazing doughnuts for dessert."

  • "Invited an important client and his wife out for dinner. She did not want a "fancy" place, likes Italian, and does enjoy good food. Cibo delivered on all three. Great Italian food, surperb service, very nice decor but does not try too hard. Highly recommend to foodies as the menu is very good and not your spaghetti and meatballs fare"

  • "So after having their arancini appetizer in the top of The Tomato's list for things to eat in Edmonton, Chef Rosario changed it up to a lighter, summer version with sweet peas & mint - and it was even better than the award winning version. I absolutely loved this starter, and the fare that followed was up to the challenge of being as good as the appie. The insalata was fresh, crisp and tasty (according to my table-mate), and my Garganelli w/ wild boar was close to perfection for a pasta dish. The garganelli pasta was just the right al dente cook, and the sauce was a wonderful blend of wild boar with savoury notes, including fennel, that were well integrated and just simply delicious. The wine list is crazy good; we chose the COS Cerasuolo!"

  • "We had the ricotta cakes to start, followed by the gnocchi and ramps special, finishing with the chocolate hazelnut tart for dessert. Everything was rich and delicious without being too heavy. The flavours were sublime and the ingredients were really fresh. Wonderful meal and we will definitely be going back to try other menu items. "

  • "Buona Sera! The Menu at Cibo is exceptional - Italian authentic, tasty, and generously delicious. Cocktails are creative, and the service is truly excellent. A quiet, bright spot, for a fine dining experience. The only negative for us is that they do not take AMEX cards (for those in the know on premium card benefits, this is a big decision factor on where you dine and spend your $5K+ a month in entertainment dollars), and the only reason we probably will not return."

  • "Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Lunch is very good value. Music is not great, but at least it's not loud. No Open Table points. "
