This email is quite upsetting. I have already contacted Open Table on Friday, March 28th to inform you that the restaurant, CIAO, that you confirmed for our reservation for Saturday, March 29th is closed. You responded to my email apologizing for the mix-up and said you would follow up on the status of this restaurant. Please cross check with whomever handles comments on your contact page. Obviously this is automatically "spit out" from the reservation list but it does not speak well for your services. We shall no longer book through Open Table, or consider joining, since we have lost confidence in this service. The Ferragano Family

Our Server was wonderful, she could not do enough for us, but we were the only Table in there on a Friday night at 7:00 and was told they were out of all Chicken dishes and Veal Chops, who runs out of Chicken. And no one else showed up all night we closed the place down at 10:00.

We tried to get into Ciao during the summer months and it was packed, however we just went and were 1 of 3 tables filled in the place. The food was so-so, nothing to go back for. Especially when you get broken glass in your salad...twice! After sending one back when my husband crunched on a hunk of glass, they sent another salad with more glass! The waitress was very good, but the manager/owner/chef never came out to our table after serving 2 salads with glass (and it was not busy). Nor did they take his dinner off the bill or offer free dessert to the table! Not sure why we didn't walk out, but we would not return. Very poor customer service on your part.

We have eaten at Ciao Ristorante several times in the past. We chose to eat there with friends on New Year's Eve. From the time we sat till we left the service was poor. The food was not up to the standards we have had in the past. The wrong orders were served. My husband had to eat his meal alone. The pasta dish which we have had in the past had minimal if any meat sauce on it and was completely without any flavor. We will never go back to eat there again.

The amibiance, the food, the serivce, everything was amazing. I brought my boyfriend and our friends there for his birthday and we loved it, I forget the waitress name (sorry nice blonde lady) but she was great. very nice, personable and sweet. SHe made sure we were comfortable and happy. She helped make the night go smoothly. I have recommended your place to all of my friends and to anyone that has asked where they should go for dinner. Thank you so much...!!!!

It took a long time to put our order in for appetizers. Then we waited about 30 min until they arrived. We waited another 45 min or so for our entrees and they were terrible. The owner of the restaurant was extremely rude when we called her over to complain Suffice it to say we would not recommend Ciao to anyone we know.

Not sure how any reviews like this place but I will review honestly. First the hostess (owner?) was very nice and seated us at a table in the back of this tiny and loud little restaurant. Wait staff was very nice but not quite sure who handled what table? We were in a hurry so we ordered a spinich salad, a mushroom app, shrimp scampi and scallops. They brought out some stale bread and oil/vinegar . Frozen stale and baked? Scampi was comical. Too much sauce and literally ten strands of linguini with shrimp swimming in the sauce. Shrimp was small but fresh. Scallops were just about cooked and risotto cake was greasy. Mushroom app was soggy and greasy fried coated. This place mut be sending their own reviews or having friends . Big NO!

Sat for a good 15 min prior to receiving menus. Once menus were received, it took another 15 min until someone came back to take our order. To their credit, the apps were good (and arrived piping hot), but meals were inconsistent. Veal was chewy, scallops were burnt....steak was good as was the pork chop. Truth be told, there are many better options in the area--just look around the corner.

We've now dined at Ciao on three occassions and the food and service have been consistent. Menu choice include many first, second and main courses. Of course there is the dessert list for the evening. There are "standardas" with seasonal and nightly specials. Their motto is "New York Quality Food at New Jersey Prices" and they deliver. Salads are large and suitable for sharing. Presentation is key and the kitchen excels in this area. We've had different things each time. Fish, seafood and meat depending upon our mood. Nicely sized portiomn and you won't walk out hungry. This is a BYOB place and if you forget as we have done, there is a package store next door. Great food, local and reasonably prices - how do you beat that combination!

I was looking for a fancier restaurant at the shore. This fit the bill, however it was way too expensive for what you got. I was expecting to pay a bit more, but to pay $159 for 4 people with no booze or soft drinks, is a bit too pricey for pasta with a very small portion of fish on the top. The food was good, but my three adult children went back to our beach house and ate.

What a nice find! This small gem of a restaurant, located one block from the beach in Long Branch, boasts a combination of fine food, friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Owned and operated as a small family business, the owners make you feel welcome and special. Fresh fish choices were delicious and beautifully presented, especially the Ahi Tuna! The menu is reasonable and extremely interesting and offers a wide variety of choices for every palate. I will be definitely be back! Ciao!

Appetizers came quickly but bread basket came without butter and oil and had to ask waitress several times over a half hour to get some. We had to get our wine from the community ice bucket and open and serve it ourselves because waitress disappeared. Main dishes took forever to come out of the kitchen and were mediocre at best. We were at the restaurant for two and a half hours without coffee or dessert. We would not recommend Ciao to anyone.

So I was there for 4th of July for dinner. I really liked the staff and I sat outside on the patio. My waiter was a younger gentleman and was great. Filled my wine glass when it got near empty. Don't listen to what they say do not order the soft shell crab appetizer there was no meat on it. The entrees was good. I ordered the chicken dinner and the shrimp scampi one. One thing I noticed is that the wife (owner) didn't seem that confident in her newly appointed restaurant. She would "creep" on us through the glass window and just stare at us. She was very nice but just felt weirded out at times. Not sure why she did but turned me off.

We decided to try this restaurant on the 4th thinking that it would be a close walk to the fireworks on the beach. We had checked out the menu online, but were pleasantly surprised by more adventurous food choices on the menu. We were especially impressed eith the lobster salad with shaved Bloody Mary granita. The food was delicious, the wait staff looked rather young but were friendly and attentive, and the ambiance pleasant. Overall this is a good place to go, and a good restaurant for a quiet night.

What a great place. Very tasteful decor. Hostess was great when we unexpectedly added 2 people to our party. The food was outstanding; very creative specials(butter poached lobster in a cognac sauce was one of the most interesting and delicious ways I have ever eaten lobster) and the Italian standards were spot on(the bolognese is killer). Service was very friendly and capable and the prices very reasonable. A winner from top to bottom!

Very nice family run restaurant that takes Italian above the red sauce and pizza level. Veal and seafood were wonderful. Server was happy to chill our bottle of wine and served it like we had bought it from them. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner except for a boisterous adjoining table.

I started with the lobster granita appetizer. Excellent. Of the 4 dinners we had, 3(salmon, sea bass and scallops) were all very good. The eggplant lasagna, however was a real downer---devoid of flavor and the sauce wasn't that good either. We like this place, and heard the new owners and chef were an improvement over the prior, but good, ownership. Overall, the food was very good. The service, though, was poor. Nice young man for a waiter, who paid virtually no attention to us. Two of our group had white wine, but they had no ice bucket, so the waiter had to take the bottle and put it with other diners' wine. When our group wanted some, we couldn't get a hold of him. Also, he had to be told, after being asked, to clear the table.

This was our first time visiting this local restaurant, since the new owners took over. I am not thrilled about the prices that are combined with unattentive beach club style servers. I believe that our server was working his first day at the restaurant and had very little guidance as to the simple things, such as bringing out a steak knife, for a steak. regardless of that, the food was good, but nothing to write home about, especially because the scallops were under-cooked. I usually wouldn't write such a review, but I believe that it is important for the owners to know that they have to make some changes to make it in this economy. I will try and go back again in hopes that the poor experience was just a fluke.

We very much enjoyed our first time at Ciao ristorante. The place is small so tables are fairly close together and noise level a little on the high side. The beet salad and sauteed artichoke hearts were quite tasty. I had the veal chop for main course. It came with sliced carrots (a little too undercooked) and mashed potatoes. The veal was simply grilled and quite good although there was a large chunk of fat that was obviously inedible. The restaurant is BYO. The only other thing I would recommend to the restaurant is to enclose the entrance with either an anteroom or heavy curtain. As it stands right now, when the front door opens a chill wind blows in on the guests.
