  • "Tony Gambino greeted us and welcomed us to his restaurant! From there we knew that we were in good hands. Rich our server knew his way around the menu and answered everyone's question and made great recommendations. Our out of town friends were impressed. The food was very good and we left very satisfied!"

  • "How can an Italian restaurant in Little Italy serve horribly mushy pasta after we specifically ordered it "al dente"?? How can an Italian restaurant be out of Prosecco very early on a Saturday night?? How can an Italian restaurant serve eggplant parmigiana that was mostly fried egg batter with very little eggplant inside?? Apparently Ciao Bella has no problems in doing all this, which is a complete disservice to Baltimore's Little Italy restaurant reputation and to Italian-American cuisine in general. Our server was very attentive--we only wish the cooks in the kitchen were too. Foodies, take note: they "pre-cook" their pasta, esp. linguine, before diners show up so you will never be able to get pasta that's edible. Mush is NEVER acceptable!"

  • "My friend and I were both visitors to Baltimore, and looking for an Italian restaurant recommendation from a local, who told us we had to try Ciao Bella. Well she was right - we had a great meal here! We shared the shrimp oreganato appetizer (which was garlic nirvana) and the Mozzarella with tomato salad. We decided to share 3 entrees because we could't make up our mind on just 2! The penne carbonara and gnocchi were both sinfully delish, and the chicken parm was light, and a nice complement to the pasta dishes. Although we were stuffed, our server convinced us that we had to try the tiramisu, which was one of the best I've ever had. All around, a very good experience, and we'll definitely be back."

  • "Excellent Saturday night dinner: Eggplant - thinly sliced, egg battered and tender. Gnocci in vodka sauce - homemade and melt in your mouth delicate Delicious dressing in ceasar salad Biggest surprise - a grilled octopus on top of seasoned greens. Best ever! Minestrone - flavors took me back forty years to a taste reminiscent of old-country authentic. Excellent bread with a spciy olive oil for dipping. Generous portions and so satisfying! Ask for server "Charles""

  • "Went with my boyfriend (his first visit, my third), and had a wonderful meal.....great service, enjoyed the food, and not too busy, ad we arrived for an early dinner at 5pm. Started getting busier the longer we were there, as was expected, but still a great time!"

  • "I was very excitied to see that they had clams casinos on their menu. It was one of the reasons I picked the restaurant. While the clams had flavor, they were defintiely lacking "clams". They were 95% breading with little bits of clam in them. I was expecting a whole clams topped with a flavorable Italain stuffing. The rest of the food was very good! I really liked their Minestrone soup."

  • "Had dinner with my son and girlfriend who were in town for an event. Was a delightful evening with the wait service attentive but not overly intrusive. The escargots were delicious and the Lamb Meatballs were nicely flavored. I had the veal marsala which was perfectly flavored. The vodka sauce with the gnocchi was devine."

  • "Have been visiting Ciao Bella for years when in Baltimore on business or with the family. It was on the agenda for our recent family trip, and we had a great time. The food was well prepared and presented, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The owner was there to great us when we arrived, and is very much involved in taking care of his guests. Well done!"

  • "Went for our daughter's Birthday, just three of us, and absolutely enjoyed it. I've been to this restaurant before, years ago, and has changed it's quality in food as well in professionalism . Tony, as always , fixed our dinner to perfection , Rich, the server, was great too, very helpful. We even got a piece of a cake with a candle on it and sang a birthday song. I would recommend Ciao Bella to anyone who is looking for great Italian food and atmosphere ."

  • "From the enthusiastic greeting at the door by Owner/Operator Anthony Gambino through every course to the house-made cannolis, Ciao Bella impressed us. The Veal Saltimbocca recommended by our outstanding waiter was some of the best ever. The crab appetizer he also tipped us off to was better tham any I've ever had. My companions also enjoyed their linguine with white clam sauce and seafood melange with pasta. The warm and crusty bread kept coming. The dipping sauce Ciao Bella places on the table is superbly spiced. All lin all the evening was a superb treat."

  • "I've eaten at several of the Little Italy restaurants. I thought the staff was friendly and that is the perk of the restaurant. Good service is hard to come by sometimes."

  • "After our least outing in Baltimore (which was sverely disappointing) I didn't hold out much hope for Ciao Bella, but I was proven wrong. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the chef/owner Tony, both seated us and talked to us about our meal. It was a great evening and we look forward to going back soon."

  • "Baltimore's Little Italy has many choices, and many poeple love it. We chose Ciao Bella because we had a Groupon coupon, and were looking for a place to grab dinner before going to Vaccaro's for a birthday celebration. And we had a great meal. The bartender started us with really well made cocktails, we followed with a ceaser salad and a grilled calamari salad, bothe delicious. The waiter recommended the shrimp fra diavolo, and it was an excellent recommendation--terrific spicy sauce. My partner's ravioli, which was ordered to satisfy a huge craving, did not disappoint. The house wines were decent. The waiter was super nice, and he was attentive to the exact right degree for us. We ended up being really glad we went to Ciao Bella."

  • "We used to go to a different Italian restaurant for years... until somebody recommended this one to me. The food is better than other places we've tried and the servers are very friendly. Also, the owner was there talking to every guest, I think that was very cool and made a difference. I don't mind driving 1 hour just to go and eat at ciao Bella!!"

  • "I had to first go in to request valet (which was $15). Wasn't pleased with seating. Menu was minimal. They didn't have either wine we requested. So I decided to pay the $20 for our (2) drinks go to another restaurant. They showed no interest in satisfying our needs or even keep our business. One word "TERRIBLE""

  • "We love Ciao Bella. Their food is always really good, although the chicken and eggplant parmesan weren't great this time. They had a lamb meatball appetizer special that was great, though. We had our rehearsal dinner there for our wedding a couple years ago and the owner always remembers us. Great people and a great family restaurant."

  • "This is definitely one of the nicest restaurants in Litttle Italy. Food quality and service are excellent. We have eaten there several times and have not been disappointed. Prices are reasonable. We had a buffet style dinner there for 60 people several months ago on short notice (the original venue cancelled at the last minute) and it was well managed."

  • "In the world of dining at the heart of it is the food. Failure to execute there leaves for mediocrity at best. I ordered four different dishes. All failed. Would take too much time to go into detail. I'm not a critic but I do recognize quality, preparation and good execution. None were on point. The wait staff however were satisfactory and made the overall experience tolerable."

  • "Dinner was not a great experience. The restaurant was nearly empty(it was early) but it still took just too long for our meal to arrive. While the wait staff was very friendly and just trying to do their job, their attentiveness was a little overbearing and uncomfortable. The biggest disappointment was the food. My veal special was tough, stringy, and the sauce very salty and bland. The accompanying spaghetti with marinara seriously tasted like someone had opened a can of Tomatoes and plopped it on the pasta! When we left, the restaurant was still nearly empty while across the street the restaurant had a steady stream of customers....next time we will go there!"

  • "With so many different Italian restaurants around Little Italy in Baltimore, it's not an easy decision on where to eat. My daughter had a Gnocci dish that was excellent and I had a shrimp pasta that was tasty. I believe it was Shrimp Riccardo or something like that. However, when it said orange cream sauce, I didn't realize orange flavor. It was slightly sweet. Different, but good! The restaurant was not at all busy but probably because we were there on a Monday night and the temps were bitter cold. We had good attention from our server. It was a nice restaurant."

  • "I took my wife here as our first date when we were dating. So for our first wedding anniversary I brought here here to prpose again. She had the special of stuffed tilapia, which was amazing and I had the NY strip. Their rizzoto is to die for. And Tony's homemade balsamic is a little tase of heavin in your mouth. The food was amazing, the service was outstanding. The owner, Tony, takes a pesonal interest in every table. Its nice to see the attention to detail and the genuine care."

  • "We had heard so much about Little Italy that we were expecting a lot. NO Parking to speak of...needed valet service ...who did an excellent job, by the way! Three TV screens in the restaurant room??? Very distracting. The wait staff were wonderful and very attentive. The Crab Toast appetizer was delicious as was the Lobster Ravioli. The Veal Saltimbocca was tough...I thought veal was supposed to be very tender??? All in all a good experience for our first time in Little Italy."

  • "We go to Ciao Bella's often and are never disappointed. This time we were seated at one of our favorite tables by the window. Our waiter was outstanding, in spite of the fact that he had an entire room to take care of. The food was delicious and we never felt rushed. For a good, solid Little Italy experience, I would always recommend this restaurant."

  • "A very nice meal at a good Little Italy restaurant...but take it easy on the frying...the calamari and the veal could have been taken out a minute or two earlier from the fryer, would have made them both less chewy...and VERY good service, as usual."

  • "wait service was very slow. substituted a drink from bar without asking if it would be ok. water refill was overly aggressive, tripping over our legs, interrupting, and reaching across our plates while we were eating to refill water. meal had too much parmesan that was not listed on menu as an ingredient. since it was also an extra provided in a bowl on the side, why even cook with it? just let the diner add it."
