A word from Ciao! 2 An Italian Cafe
Ciao 2!'s is now the fourth generation of a traditional Italian trattoria! We are a special combination of style and substance, a restaurant known for its craft beers, boutique wines, and classic Italian cuisine!

Chef Sabrina, a native Pittsburger, carefully sources local produce and food stuffs whenever possible. Our chef has created brunch, lunch, and dinner menus as delicious tributes to the classic trattoria fashion!

This being Pittsburgh, it is only reasonable that Ciao2! pays loving attention the liquid side of things. Signature cocktails such as the Tuscan Sour and the Lemoncello martini, are served along side classics like the Ciao2! Manhattan and the Aviation.

Several beers are on tap and Nick has created a varied and unique wine list!

Ciao2! An Italian Cafe', a salute to classical regional Italian cuisine!

  • "This is our favorite restaurant for great food and drinks. The staff is always friendly and attentive."

  • "For me, I would like to get fairly consistent food from a location. In my opinion, we just don't get that from this location. The service is good and the people are nice, but I expect a restaurant to put out a consistent product. Plus they were not busy at all."

  • "As always the food was very good. The waitress was new so there were a few issues there but I am sure with time that will improve also."

  • "Used to go to the restaurant when it was in Carnegie. Still keeps the same food quality and offers one of the best options in the Robinson area. My wife and I go back there about every 2 months and have a consistently good experience. "

  • "Got wrong order an when they returned the corrected order they drowned it in regular sauce instead of the ordered light crème sauce. Have been here before and the food was great, guess they had a bad nite. The owner who is very exuberant became very quite after taking the order back and did not ask if we would like dessert or coffee after the meal as he usually does. "

  • "We had lunch there with 10 people in our group. The service was excellent. Great Italian food. :-)"

  • "We went to Ciao 2 for the first time last night - actually as a result of finding it on Open Table, and I have to say, we were very impressed. The service was superb, the ambiance was great and the food was wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant - we will certainly be returning."

  • "Heard great things about this restaurant and figured it was a safe bet....Had a table of 6 and meals were ok, not great, salad dressings, not so much...to add insult to injury, service was aweful....since we had six, 18% gratuity was added on automatically.....would have left a substantially less tip if I could.....bottom line, won't go back."

  • "Good choice for Mother's Day. Cute little place. A nice change from a chain restaurant. The food was good, although the tab was higher than I was expecting. When I called, I asked about price range. I was told $13 to $16. This was the average cost on the lunch menu. The dinner menu, which was also available, was much higher. Our total (no alcohol) was $258.00 for 8 people. I wasn't expecting it to be that high. "

  • "Ciao 2 located West of Pittsburgh is a great authentic Italian restaurant. We had a large group for Mother's Day. We were seated immediately, and the service was good. They had a separate menu for the occasion plus their regular menu, much to choose from. We were all very happy with our meals, very tasty and filling. Pasta dishes were delightful, and the salads outstanding! Certainly will return for an evening with my husband, great for a date night or with friends! "

  • "I brought my family and friends here for a graduation dinner. I chose Ciao because it was one of the few restaurants that could accommodate my large party in short notice. When we arrived, we were surprised at how it looked in the front, I thought I made a mistake. However, I was in for a welcomed surprise. The inside was wonderfully furnish, and the food was great. My family really enjoyed their meal. The staff was also wonderful, they were joking and laughing with the table, and the staff was willing to serve us family-style, a huge plus. It was a great experience. I highly recommend the fried zucchini, it was great. The overall experience was wonderful, and I cannot wait to return again!"

  • "CIAO! 2 has become one of our favorite restaraunts. They always have interesting Specials. I have never ordered off the menu. All the dishes we have had always have a unique taste. Nick seems to always have interested wines that pair well with the dishes. The wait staff is always friendly. "

  • "Food is OUTSTANDING-from the bread and dipping sauce to the entree, you will not be disappointed! "

  • "It was our first time eating at Ciao, and we were quite surprised to find such quality to each part of our meal. The crab dip appetizer was amazing and so was the Crab Bisque Soup. The variety of the menu and the size of the portions are both large. However, the presentation and quality of each dish was superb! I was especially surprised to find that the dessert menu items were equally wonderful!! I never had a burnt almond torte dessert before, and was happy to enjoy every morsel! The Gelato was a big portion shared by two of our guests; the Turtle Cheesecake with caramel sauce was a definite birthday treat. I loved the Italian lasagna and also the sauce on their pasta...all in all, this was a true gem that you should NOT miss!!"

  • "we were there at 4:00 so the only ones in the restaurant.......my wife had a chicken salad and I had the ground sirloin burger and both were perfect........the fries were also excellent......will definitely go back"

  • "Ciao!2 is a great italian restaurant for the Robinson area. Good food and good service. Nick, the owner, is very knowledgeable on wines, as well."

  • "We were seated in a fairly empty room. Most of the diners were seated together in one section while the remainder of the restaurant was empty. This made the experience feel cramped. Add to it the small tables and it became tedious finding room to move or serve each course. We were finished with our drinks and appetizer before the waiter took our dinner order. Luckily the chef was quick and the orders were few. The dinner came in due time and the food was good and hot. Nothing special about how it was presented. I would not consider this an overall good dinner. Based on the various 4 and 5 star reviews, we thought the experience would be much better. We will not be returning."

  • "Went with a group of 6. Got there just in time at 6:00 pm b/c the place filled up shortly after. The staff seemed harried and unprepared for a crowd. We all ordered a drink but only some of them made it from the bar; when asked about the remaining drinks our waitress had to convince the bartender that he left some drinks out. The food was good but not special and pricey for the portion size. Overall, an average experience"

  • "Ciao 2 provides Italian continental ambiance and delicious authentic Italian cuisine with the most beautiful food presentation. The service is top notch and the wine flows...we will return...often!"

  • "I have always enjoyed dining at Ciao2. I am a repeat customer and will continue. It is the perfect spot for great food and a place where you can actually have a dinner conversation without having to raise your voice. The specials are always changing and inventive and the regular menu offers a good selection. The wines are equally interesting. A nice touch are the people who work there and their preparation on knowing the specials is a very nice touch. And the wine suggestions from the owner/manager (Nick) are always excellent. From appetizers to dessert, a really good dining experience."

  • "We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a dinner at Ciao's. The food was terrific along with the description of the food from the manager. He was very informative. The Coffee with Tuaca (sp) and amaretto was the perfect ending to a wonderful nite."

  • "Excellent setting--beautifully designed and quiet room. Outstanding and knowledgeable service. Superb menu--the owner lived for years in Rome, so this is not an Italian wannabe. Freshest ingredients, lots of choices, reasonably priced. You will be delighted you found this gem. We found it for lunch on Sunday and will return often."

  • "Went for the first time in 5 years as we had moved out of Town. Now back and the new location, although in a large shopping area still has a warm feeling. The bar offerings seem to have increased and the food was still exceptional. Our favorite Itailian for sure in the area."

  • "The hostess sat us right away . Seats are very close Together. Noisey if they sit u near the kitchen The waitress was nice and prompt . The food came out quick. But I didn't think it had a lot of taste . The dessert menu was good . That was a thumb s up !The prices of the entree was a little higher then what I felt it was worth average place to eat ."

  • "We took our friends whose daughter lives in Rome Italy and owns a wine bar....She is world travelled and only chooses the best spots in Italy. Our friends commented that everything was comparable to the best in Italy and they would come back again, especially when their daughter returns to the States for a visit."

  • "So happy to have stumbled upon Ciao!2 With the Pittsburgh Italian market dominated by chains I am always on the lookout for family owned local places. The tomato basil sauce is the best I've had - local or on the road. Beef is expertly prepared. Kids go crazy for the pizza and fried cheese. Outstanding bartender (Nick) - pairing wines and makes a fabulous martini. Everybody is friendly and the dining area is small & intimate - you feel like you're at a friends house."

  • "My husband and I went out on Saturday February 1st to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We have been to this restaurant once beforewhen it first opened and loved it! It was really good tonight but my husbands steak was medium well to well. He oredered it medium rare. It's a big difference with a steak and a steak that you are paying $40 for. The sauce surrounding it was really tasty! But he was very disappointed with his steak."

  • "We could hardly talk without leaning in. We were seated at a card table and my guest almost knocked the table over when he went to sit down because of the legs. He was not able to put his legs under the table because there was not enough room. He had to straddle the legs which was not a comfortable way to dine. Not a great place for a quiet romantic dinner. Better for a large party! The salad dressing was delicious!"

  • "We drive from West Virginia purposely to eat at Ciao. Nick is a great bar tender, host and owner. The service has always been good as has the many Italian specialties. My favorites are the zucchini and greens and beans appetizers and the chicken picata and eggplant florentine. Almost never have room for dessert."
