Diner Reviews
  • "Had dinner before George Strait, arrived 1/2 early. Ladies at front desk were accommodating!! Our table wasn't quite available so we sat in the bar and never left!! Ordered a drink they said they could make but it wasn't what I ordered. They took it off the bill. Our waiter was new and attentive and was trying hard. I can appreciate that. The food was pretty good and the drinks were yummy!! I'd go back for Happy Hour for sure!!"

  • "Had a great brunch here! Food was amazing, as well as the atmosphere. 3 mimosas for $3 was our favorite for sure! We stayed for around 3 hours eating, talking, and drinking and never once felt rushed out. Will go again for sure and will be bringing our friends."

  • "We chose a beautiful day to have lunch at Shenanigans and were pleased to be offered a chance to eat outside. We loved the warmth, sun, and view--and the food was also delicious. We even splurged and ordered a separate dessert for each of us. Thanks, Shenanigans, for offering us a memorable lunch!"

  • "The Brunch is amazing. I haven't tried all the themes yet, but the ones I have tried are amazing and fun. Love how it adds more flavor to the norm, giving the brunch a more unique and fun experience. I've only been to C.I. Shenanigans for the Brunch, but would love to try dinner there sometime in the future when I have time."

  • "I was told they were known for their steaks. I've had better...not that great at all. And they ran out of baked potatoes! Was also surprised at limited menu items."

  • "This place was very happy and cheerful. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Nice view, good people and very comfortable tables. We felt cared for and special. The beverages came quickly and the appetizers were quick to be served. The only gripe would be that we waited a little longer than we wanted to for our main course. Although, we were very tired so it might not have been that long... Overall, an amazing place with great food and service...5 stars for sure...!!!"

  • "Went for our 5 year wedding anniversary, all of the staff told us happy anniversary and signed us a card. We had a wonderful cozy booth with an amazing view. The seafood was amazing! Service prompt and friendly yet gave us our privacy. Another little bonus was being able to make reservations online; I work might shift so sometimes being awake during regular business hours is difficult!"

  • "In Tacoma visiting family. Had a lovely dinner here. Lovely in that the waitstaff was incredible and our table had a breathtaking view. Well priced great, great wine. We were treated like royalty. Ambience was a 10. Clam chowder delicious. Salmon was dry. Prawns so so. Wish I could have given it a five, cause we had such a wonderful time. Food did not warrant a five:("

  • "Went here for the first time for a birthday dinner.Selection & quality of food was excellent.Had a variety from appetizer to steaks to seafood salad to chicken.Menu is extensive.Emphasis is on seafood & steaks.Shrimp cocktail appetizer had the biggest freshest shrimp.Drinks selection was excellent.Beers from the Ram Brewery were ok.Overall a wonderful dining experience.Disappointment was dessert.Great selection but disappointing. The key lime pie had flour crust)usually graham cracker) that was tough with mile high meringue. The peanut butter & jelly dessert was bland-needed more peanut butter flavor.Raspberry jam smeared on top detracted from the experience.Has the potential to be an excellent dessert -just need to tweak it.Would return."

  • "It was a special occasion and our waiter did everything right. Food was ok, but steaks were overly charred, giving them a strong charcoal flavor. Overall, it was noisier than I had hoped."

  • "All of the food we had was spectacular (the service was great too but we were blown away by the food)! I highly recommend the fish and chips. The batter was crispy and not too heavy and the fish inside was moist and delicious. The fish comes in one very large piece which made for a wonderful presentation. It would be great to be shared by two people. We also tried some of the new desserts. We ordered the chocolate peanut butter cake and the Boston cream pie which the table shared. Both desserts were wonderful though the chocolate peanut butter cake was the favorite. They also have dessert shots with are great for kids. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back."

  • "We had been to the restaurant and it was amazing, so I think this was a isolated experience. It took awhile for our waitress to get to us then she never brought us our bread. We had ordered the lobster prawns, which were way overdone. The main course, steak and crab was delicious."

  • "Have eaten here several times and have been very pleased with everything except the early bird dinner. Lots of filler and scrimped on the meat. Brunch is out of this world. Tried the Open Table for the first time and it is a quick and easy, no waiting, prompt response experience. I would recommend to anyone."

  • "Our experience was very good. The only fault I had it was hard getting in and out of a booth. We were a party of four and the booth was kind of small for brunch."

  • "Our server made our special occasion great. I used to be a bartender here and my wife was a dinner server here. My boys are now bartending. He knew we all worked in the restaurant business and was not intimidated at all. He gave us fantastic service. My wife DeAnn Long (Thysens now) and I worked at Shenanigans when it first opened. We saw a sign about your 30 year anniversary. A lot of people who use to work there are still in the area. You would be smart to look them up and invite them in for a get together and maybe a free cocktail. You would make up the cost 5x with more drinks, food and return customers with a sense of good will from a restaurant that appreciated them?"

  • "I was not pleased with our dining experience especially after hearing all the hype. I ordered a $9 scallop appitizer and the bacon was not even cooked all the way! The bacon was crispy on one half and the other half was undercooked and a terrible texture. Unfortunately I ordered my entrée, also bacon wrapped, before the appitizer came so suprise surprise the bacon was gross on that as well. I guess I just feel that if we are going to spend $100 on dinner the food should be up to par. The creme brulee was the only good part of our meal. This whole experience made me feel terrible for suggesting such an expensive restaurant for Valentine's Day and then neither of us liked the food. I do not think we will be returning to that establishment."

  • "Food was not that great for brunch. The fish cod was hard and no taste. No rice, no pasta, just potatoes. I always go here for oyster cocktails but did not see one. Waitress took so long to give me a straw for my drink. The only thing that was satisfying was the great view of the shore. Overall, i am very disappointed."

  • "We went for the highly rated brunch and were not disappointed! The selection of different items was impressive with made to order crepes and omelets topping the list. Most of the prepared (buffet) items were above average although a couple sat out too long and got cold. The pastry selection was ok but nothing fancy (I had the bread pudding and an apple crisp that were good), Wife raved about the chocolate strawberries but the cantaloupe I had was sour. Service was ok for a buffet, after a short wait (even with reservations) we were seated but had to wait for beverages. My coffee arrived by the time we were back from the buffet line; but my wife ordered a mimosa and had eaten most of her breakfast before that arrived. Overall, grade B."

  • "We had a great experience. We sat for hours and had wonderful service even though it was SOOOOOO busy! Frozen Crab legs and Kids screaming at the table next to us were the only down fall to the breakfast. Everything else was tasty! I had a taste of every kind of meat served and everything had amazing creamy flavors. It was the a "FRENCH" Buffet and it was delicious! We had champane and oj to make the morning even more entertaining. Thanks for a great Sunday!!!"

  • "A very busy Sunday brunch was handled efficiently by wait staff who was called in from the bar to help with serving in the restaurant. Always a good selection of food for this brunch. The theme for this brunch was French. I have noticed over the years, people do not dress for a brunch. I wish there was still a dress requirement like shirts with collars, slacks etc."

  • "We reserved a table way before in advance, trying to avoid Valentines day crowd, by using the 13th of Feb. It was our 18th anniversary, it took 15 minutes to be seated, they had someone in training, the salmon I ordered was poor. We have been to your brunch and everything was great! Sorry our special night was not!"

  • "The server must have been new, he was annoying and couldn't tell us anything about the wines. My girlfriends salmon was dry and the plate looked like it had sat in the heat curtain a little to long. I ordered the filot minion, what I thought would be the best steak in the house (cooked medium) with the prawns, what I recieved was a very rare piece of leather that I needed a saw to cut (lean and tender not) and two dried out prawns cut in half, also added for six dollars was two small pieces of over cooked asparagus and a pinch of crab meat. I even held off till the day after valentines day thinking it would be better. Over all it was not worth the hundred dollars that I spent that evening. I will defiantly not be back, or recommend."

  • "Beautiful evening view of the water. A very nice, relaxing atmosphere for dining. The staff were very attentive, polite, and energetic. The Alaska Cod was HUGE and lightly breaded, fresh, without any kind of fishy smell. My date and I had a wonderful time here, and we will certainly return. BONUS-our server was so amazing, I could not help but to tip her 20%!"

  • "I made a reservation dinner online about 2 weeks prior to Valentine's Day request to have seat by window with view. When my BF and I arrived we get seated immediately within 1-2 minutes wait. However, we did not get table that we wanted or even closed to it as I guess it was busy on Valentine's day; The our table is small and very closed with other table next to us. We ordered claim chowder, ceaser salad, and 2 Filet Mignon (both medium rare, steak came with a big piece of onion ring and mashes potatoes or veggies) , and a soda. Claim chowder and ceaser salad have great season. Steaks were tender and cook perfectly. Nothing to complain about our food. We have to request our bill. Totat bill: $86 with changes plus tip. Total $100.00."

  • "We made reservations for lunch through open table. We arrived early and seated within minutes. Our server was polite, friendly and attentive. He made sure we knew the specials and of course made a point of showing us the wine list. He gave us plenty of time to order. The view of Puget Sound was beautiful that day. Oh did I mention it was Valentine's Day? We were celebrating more than that special day as it marked the 22nd year since we met. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was amazing. We had the Black Forest Cake for dessert and I highly recommend everyone try it at least once. The wine we had from South America complemented the Focaccia Bread appetizer, the Salmon we both had for our entrée and the dessert. Well done"

  • "I've been to CIShenanigan's twice in the last 2 or 3 weeks and was disappointed both times. The food and the interior (seats need reupholstering, wood finish on pepper grinder among other things) are clearly on the way downhill. The obsequiousness of the staff seemed to be trying to make up for whatever deficiencies they perceived but that cannot compensate for lackluster food in both taste and appearance. I sense that the restaurant is due for a makeover and they are hanging on too long. Sorry to see that. Truly."

  • "Well folks, you missed it this time for me. When I made the reservation, I mentioned it was my lady's 65th birthday and that I would appreciate a cake, for which I was more than willing to pay. Further, I supplied you with my mobile phone number in the event that you may have questions or that you were not able to provide a birthday cake. Also, I requested a booth with a view. When we were seated, it was at a window seat which was very cold due to the frigid outdoors. So the waiter graciously moved us to a booth with only one seat situated toward the view. Fortunately the outdoors was dark as night set in and the windows had more reflection than view. At the end of our meal, we received our bill but never saw a birthday cake."
