Chutney's Bistro had excellent food, which was really all it had going for it. We had made a reservation for Christmas Eve and when we arrived, someone,I am assuming the owner, asked us how many and we replied that we had a reservation and he had no idea. We were shown to the table and that is about it. After sitting at the table for a couple of minutes looking around for a menu or service, the owner came around again to tell us they went with a buffet style dinner because of all the people. They obviously weren't expecting to be busy, but honestly, they had all of the wait staff (2 girls) on two big tables, probably 15 people each and no one else was really given any time. Honestly, there is plenty of Indian food in Seattle, not going back

The setting was lovely but I was disappointed by the food. Although the curry was good the vegetarian appetizer platter had a little variety but uniformly little flavor. Also the sauces just tasted salty. We went there before a movie at the Guild but all I did was wish I was eating at India Bistro in Ballard.

  • Finally! Organic Indian Cuisine!

I was very happy to find organic Indian cuisine. I live in Santa Clara, CA and work in Sunnyvale, CA and pretty much grew up in the Silicon Valley and Northern California's Bay Area; so I have always eaten a lot of Indian food. When traveling around the country, I usually don't expect to get as much good Indian food, but I had forgotten the Seattle/Redmond/Bellevue area is another place where I can get good Indian/Asian food. The restaurant has a special organic menu. The dishes are a bit more expensive than conventional dishes, but they are better for your health. The owner and all his servers are really friendly and nice. The restaurant has plenty of outdoor tables, which is nice in late Spring and Summer.
