A word from Chutney Masala
Culinary School graduate and James Beard honoree Chef Navjot Arora has put together a unique menu borrowing from the vast culinary diversity of India.
We truly believe great food starts with great ingredients. We procure only fresh, wholesome ingredients with no artificial flavorings or additives, local produce wherever possible, all natural poultry, free range lamb, wild not farmed seafood. We grind our own spices to ensure freshness.

The New York Times gave high marks to our succulent tandoori cooked meats and referred to our sauces as superbly complex.” Vegetarians will feel like royalty” says The Journal News, referring to our delicious curries and vegetable appetizers. Our menu reflects Chef Navjot’s true passion for food that began from a very young age. He further honed his skills and learnt from the very best master chefs at the Taj Group of Hotels

The menu offers a variety of combination platters, along with biryanis, curries, tandoori entrees.

Diner Reviews
  • "Sadly disappointing. I eat Indian often and this chicken tikka masala was bland. The chicken was dark meat and tough so I did not eat it. The sauce reminded me of tomato paste."

  • "I've been here twice and everything I've tried was really good. I'm not an expert on Indian food but my husband is and he loves this place. It's not the most authentic, old world feeling Indian restaurant but I'm not complaining. Feels like a cute bistro inside. Definitely opt for the biryani and some garlic naan!"

  • "We really like this restaurant. The food is great as is the service."

  • "Have enjoyed many meals at Chutney Masala. Although it has been mostly great food and good service, I rec'd poor service my last two visits. Drinks took 20 minutes to come up from the bar, aside from the hostess (she was courteous), the rest of the wait staff was too busy to attend to our meal properly. The restaurant was not busy. Maybe a third of the seats were occupied. I will try it a last time. I remember when the service was as good as the food."

  • "The restaurant is a great find. We got there late so can't really just the noise level but the food was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The potato samosas were fantastic. The aloo gobi matar needed more potatoes and peas but it was still great. The shrimp masala was fantastic as were the breads. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items that we like."

  • "Love this place. The people are nice, the service is good, drinks are yummy, love the drink with chilis and cucumber and lime. Delicious. Food is the best Indian in Westchester."

  • "Who knew you could find great Indian food in Westchester Co.?! Everything we ate was delicious. The owner is incredibly hospitable. Take a walk to the water after dinner to make your evening complete."

  • "As a party of four, we had a chance to enjoy a few different dishes. Appetizers were good, the chicken was extremely tender, naan was so so and the vindaloo was not so great. If you are not someone who partakes in vindaloo, I'm sure you'll be happy with their selections. The waitress we had seemed asleep at the wheel; she forgot to serve our naan and we had to keep prodding her for drink refills. I'm sure their other servers are not as absent minded so, please don't let that discourage you; unless, as I said, you are looking for a good vindaloo."

  • "Our third visit, just delicious Indian food. yum! Atmosphere is lovely (brick walls, wooden floors, great views of the Hudson River and the Palisades. ) Attentive service. Interesting cocktails."

  • "Loved the refreshing cucumber martini! Really nice people. Some tables upstairs have a good view of the River. Lamb samosas are to die for."

  • "The greeting when we arrived 30 minutes ahead of our reservation at noon was perfunctory: 'We're not open yet', as the waiter barely looked up from his cell phone, unwilling to welcome us. The smell of ammonia-washed floors was pervasive, the bar stools still tipped over on the bar. My guest and I stepped outside to take in the fresh air and converse about things that mattered. In the meantime I worried that things had nose-dived at Masala since my first wonderful experience. We were seated at precisely 12:00pm (had they let us in earlier we were prepared to buy drinks at the bar). The waiter answered our questions, took our order and we proceeded to have one of the nicest culinary experiences in a long time. The food here is terrific."

  • "A different taste then the traditional Indian food that you usually find. A step above and some different dishes. Very friendly staff."

  • "I find the restaurant to be inconsistent. Most times the food is wonderful and service lovely. This time we had to send back two dishes because they were undercooked however they did respond quickly and graciously. And, I ordered a shrimp dish which came with 5 shrimp! Delicious, but really, 5 shrimp. That aside, it is a very nice place with good service and mostly delicious food. "

  • "One of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to in the Westchester area. Food was very good and lots of flavor."

  • "The preparations are excellent, and inventive. Sag Paneer really good! Roasted eggplant, and the meat dishes were all quite tasty. Ample wine list. A great place to experience Indian cuisine."

  • "The quality of food at chutney masala has gone down over the years. On mother's day for dinner the food was rather bland. Twovdishes with very different descriptions had the same sauce. And one had to much salt. Service was slow but OK."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "We love coming here for the unique flavors and hospitable service. As a lamb lover, the clay pot rice and lamb was the perfect balance of spices and heat. "

  • "The food was good and we would definitely return for that reason. It took 45 minutes after our appetizer, for our entrees to arrive. The delay may have been due to a large birthday party, so I'll give them a pass this time."

  • "We ordered a mixed appy plate to start. We could have stopped there. So much food. The garlin naan was delicious. Can't wait to return."

  • "This was the first time I had been to this restaurant. The food was excellent as was the service. The staff was attentive and helpful in assisting us to make decisions of what to order without being overbearing. Truly enjoyed the evening."

  • "We sat with old friends for hours and hours, eating one surprisingly good dish after another, each one unique. (This is not one of those Indian places where there are only a few flavors.) It's a special place with good, enthusiastic service. And after dinner you get to go take in the view of the beautiful Hudson River!"

  • "I have been there several times and the food is consistently impressive. However, the service can get a little questionable when it gets busy. Not bad enough to stop me from going but could certainly use some improvement. Overall very positive experience."

  • "I had been aware of Chutney Masala for sometime, and had looked forward to trying it out. When I did so, I was quite disappointed; the food was so-so, the service inconsistent, and the main dining room décor not up to the scale of the restaurant' exterior or charming bar/entrance area. Some particular issues: our appetizer was served lukewarm at best, and my request to the waiter to tone down the spice-level of my entrée was clearly ignored. I am not spice averse; I love Indian food and eat it often. I doubt I'll be back to Chutney Masala, though."

  • "This is the best Indian food I have had other than a friend's mom's cooking. That same friend often sneered at Indian restaurant food citing the "cheap vegetables." Chutney Masala definitely uses "the good vegetables." We got the thali and everything was fresh and vibrant. Greenest saag ever."

  • "With menu items beyond the standards of most other Indian restaurants"

  • "The tastes are are a little above your average Indian restaurant. We drive about 35 minutes and find it always worth the trip. Much more tasteful. There is just something a little different here. Very comfortable and eager to please. Please try it."

  • "I tried this restaurant on a whim one Saturday when the place I was planning to go to was closed for the day. Boy was i glad that it worked out the way that it did. I have been here 6 times since the start of this year. I have always been afraid to try Indian food but everything thing here that I have ever eaten has always been delicious! They also have a great variety of interesting mixed drinks. Love Chutney Masala!!!"

  • "Great food. Indian food up scaled great service, only complaint is that I wish they would serve a fish besides Tilapia in there curries."

  • "It was the first time for my family and I to dine at Chutney Masala; and it met all of my expectations. The ambience is outstanding and great for family celebrations. The food is delicious in particular the salmon, lamb and chicken. The servers were extremely attentive and made excellent suggestions which helped some in my family who had never had Indian food before. I will definitely make reservations again and again."

  • "Twice I have dined here and found great service and food, only issue was it was cold, seems the heating is turned on low or not at all, shame as we had to eat with our coats on the second visit. Lucky the food made it all worth it. I cant wait to try it in the summer."

  • "Chef Arora creates a brilliant menu of locally sourced, impeccably chosen ingredients that allow anyone -- vegetarian or carnivore --to tantalize their palate. You can go "traditonal" style (with thali type preparations) or have a more "bistro" style experience (say, wild greens salad, tandoori preparations, and chocolate ganache cake). Everyone will be happy and special requests are happily filled (even a version of very plain chicken tenders for my little girl) This is a comfortable beautifully designed restaurant that suits a romantic date, a large group of friends, a business meal and/or a family meal. Enjoy!"

  • "You know you're in for a great experience when the chef goes out of his way to personally make sure everything is up to par. Chef Arora does just that. I celebrated my birthday here and was greeted warmly at the door. My daughter told me this is how they always treat guests. The wait staff is pleasant and attentive and the food is just as outstanding as the service. You can taste the freshness of every ingredient in every dish; it was all THAT good. My 8 year old grand-daughter recommends the sweet and spicy shrimps in a mango sauce. I recommend everything. It's located in a cozy little space with partial views of the Hudson with interesting images of the Raj on display throughout the establishment. Chutney is definitely a new favorite!"

  • "Unfortunately, not the best Indian we've ever had. The service was very slow. The appetizers were good. The entrees were bland. Desert was generic refrigerated cake. Unfortunately, will not be back."

  • "The food and service are terrific!!!! Our waiter was terrific and gave us great food suggestions! If I have to mention anything that isn't perfect... The restaurant is a bit chilly .. Bring a sweater... And get ready to eat!"

  • "Definitely the best Indian food I've had in Westchester County. Food was flavorful if a little on the spicy side. Service was outstanding as well"

  • "Very helpful staff. Always good service. Not your ordinary Indian restaurant. The food here seems to be a step above the everyday Indian meal. Give it a try."

  • "Wife and I were craving Indian and had heard several good things about this restaurant across the Hudson. I'm forgetting the host's name, but what a wonderful, engaging, knowledgeable gentleman. He knew when to come and chat, and when to leave us to enjoy the amazing food. We started with the potato samosa's and the hara bhara kebab which were delicious. The sauces were full of flavor but not overbearing. We then shared the Murgh tikka makhanwala, the Chicken cettinad, and the saag paneer. All were amazing, but the makhanwala was ridiculous, the tomato cream sauce smooth, spicy, perfect. Cool industrial feel, exposed brick, highly recommend this restaurant for people who love Indian, or first timers!"
