Diner Reviews
  • "I had to order the same thing 3 times and they had 2 waiters per table which I always find is a terrible idea when restaurants do this since neither knows what the other is doing. Overall, it was extremely expensive and the service was horrible"

  • "I celebrated my 30th here with a small party of 8. I was excited since I had read so many glowing reviews. We waited a little past our reservation time, but considering it was a weekend night it wasn't a deal breaker. The appetizers they offered-the crispy plantains, were delicious, and the food was of a higher than average quality, although not extraordinary. My friends ordered a variety of food, and they liked one of the specials they offered as well as the plantain encrusted chicken. The only regrettable thing was that I, along with with 3 of my friends ended up with the worst heartburn the next day.I am not sure if it was due to the acidity of some of the creams/sauces that came with our food. Not sure what to do with balance on gf card."

  • "I usually really like Churrasco's, but this was the first time I've been to their brunch. I wasn't particularly impressed. Boiled shrimp was overcooked, waffles and pancakes were in a steamer (which is really bad for waffles as they're meant to be crisp), beef was a bit dry, and the plaintains were just a tad undercooked. And although they had I five offerings for dessert, I only tried two, the flan and some kind of filled chocolate cake. The flan was too thick and not good at all, but the chocolate cake thing was delicious. The other desserts were tres leches, rice pudding, and bread pudding. None of which I like any day of the week so I didn't bother. Shame because I have a real sweet tooth."

  • "The food and wait staff are exceptional. We feel pampered by the great service and never rushed. The bottomless mojitos were so refreshing!"

  • "Great spot for our monthly ladies brunch--we have gone all over the Houston area on a monthly basis and all agree this is one of our very favorites!"

  • "Service in this Churrasco's location is just outstanding. Get the waiter to show you how the Churrasco steak is prepared. The chef will bring out a whole tenderloin to demonstrate how you get the perfect flat steak."

  • "Loved the food- as always. Our server was very professional. The tres leches is still the best in town!"

  • "The restaurant has a great location with good parking. The atmosphere and ambience of the place is top of the line, and adjusting the scheduled arrival up/down by 20 minutes proved to be no problem. On this occasion though I experienced only OK service for my party of three, which is rather poor for a place that positions itself as a neighborhood gem. Seating was fine and the food good, but requests for additional dishes, the wait period for the bill, and one of the waiters snooty attitude (taking so long a period to come to the table we had to convey our message to a busboy) detracted from the experience. It will be a long time before I revisit the restaurant due to the waiters attitude."

  • "I have eaten at Churrasco's for years and have never been disappointed. This visit, however, was simply the finest of them all. The food was even more amazing than usual, and the service was simply excellent. When you go, ask for one of Sergio's table. He was an outstanding server."

  • "I try to eat at Churrascos every time I'm in Houston. My only complaint is that the menu choices aee significantly reduced from prior years."

  • "I was craving a tasty steak, not too large, but flavorful; after looking at nearby options, we decided on Churrasco's. GOOD CHOICE! As always, the service was great, and the beef was cooked exactly as we requested - medium with a hot pink center. They know how to do it! A quality meal that always meets expectations!"

  • "Food was not overly salty as in some restaurants. Seasonings were delicious. Good variety of food. Attentive, knowledgeable, non-intrusive service."

  • "also, a great tasting menu option; best desserts in Houston"

  • "My visit to Churrascos was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a while. The service was terrible. Our waiter took too long to take our orders. He messed up our drink orders each time and he also mixed up our food orders. The food was bland and lacked flavor. I plan not to return to Churrascos."

  • "Although the service at Churrasco's is always outstanding, the food was not up to par this time. Both of us had the beef tenderloin special which was so salty we did not enjoy it. As well, the food overall was not of the same caliber it used to be. The tres leches was delicious as usual."

  • "I have been going to Churrascos for 15 years. An afternoon or evening there is a memorable experience. The food, ambiance, and service are excellent. Whether you are accompanied by your family, a special friend, or a business associate, you will never be disappointed."

  • "Wonderful evening to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation and acceptance at the college of her choice. Her friends appreciated the excellent food and the opportunity to celebrate their achievements in a relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere. Very accommodating staff. Great dining experience."

  • "We came here for brunch and was thoroughly satisfied. It was not crowded so I'm sure that helped. The service was prompt and attentive but not overbearing and the food came out in a timely manner and was delicious. The lunch special which included appetizer, an entree, and a dessert for $19 was great. Would highly recommend."

  • "We enjoyed the Copacobana ceviche and split a 12 ounce steak 3 ways, then had a great Tres Leches and a sampler of 3 other desserts. Service was very friendly and efficient and accommodating to adjusting things in the restaurant to our satisfaction (when we were there, there were very few patrons and my wife asked to lower the music)."

  • "Excellent food. I was disappointed the bar did not have "pomegranate martinis"... The service needs to step up a few "notches"... They were not attentive and I had to request other waiters for more plantains and another "Cosmo"..."

  • "Churassco's is one of my favorite restaurants. I invited a friend who recently move to Houston and she loved it too. We enjoyed the brunch. The variety was great. The food was very flavorful. Most importantly, the temperature of the hot food was hot instead of being barely warm like most buffets. I will continue to come back again and again as I have done for years."

  • "What's not to like? Bottomless mojitos at brunch, the latin french toast, the small servings of all the deserts so I could have try all of them. Awesomeness!"
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "The churrasco steak, the namesake of the restaurant obviously, was fantastic. They use chimichurri sauce to marinate the steak to make it extremely tender. The plantain chips are a nice break from the typical tortilla chips at other restaurants. The mac and cheese side was delicious. The tamale dumplings were far less stellar. The brussels sprouts were in between and on the sweeter side. The bacon wrapped filet and shrimp brochette had plenty of meat and vegetables, and they had already removed the skewer when it arrived which was nice; however, the steak was not nearly as tender as the churrasco"

  • "I've been to Churrascos a couple of times now and the food is simply the best anywhere! Great for special occasions, as it's a little pricey for every day. The last time we went the service was also the best ever, but this time we had issues because the waiter couldn't understand English. He tried hard, but totally missed the mark with my meal. I didn't get the food I asked for, but it was good anyway. When you can only go to a place a couple of times a year (I don't live in Houston) and have your mouth set on something, you want what you want. The saving grace: As anyone will tell you, the fried plantains are simply to die for! I will definitely go back, but I'll be looking for an English-speaking waiter."

  • "I've been going to Churrasco's for a while now; anytime someone I know has a special occasion (birthday, job promotion, etc.) I tend to think of this as the first place to take them. The Churrasco steak is incredible, their appetizers are all spot on, and the drinks (especially the Mojitos) are very good. I'd recommend this place to any self-respecting beef eater, or the friend of one! "

  • "Absolutely the best steak in town. The steak is tender and juicy. "

  • "The steaks speak for themselves! I took my 8 year old God-daughter and her family to celebrate and it was wonderful. The waiter/manager even gave her a free dessert! "

  • "Food is very good, but you do not give very much of it. You have to order a lot in order to feel full afterwards. Excellent service though!"

  • "My family went here for Mother's Day. I thought it would be a nice and elegant place, but it wasn't at all. The service was horrible. Had reservation but had to wait an additional 15 minutes. Waiter never came to get our drinks. Food was okay. Went to pay the expensive bill over $150 for food that could be found at a cheap buffet costing maybe at most $30. Lastly, the waiter lost my credit card. Horrible experience. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! I am very disappointed - Americas which is owned by the same company is a thousand times better!!!!! "

  • "Five of us went to brunch for Mother's Day. The food was good, service was not too bad. They seemed to have difficulty refilling the buffet line with food though....however they were swamped. I want to go back for regular dinner service."

  • "We had a party of 6 today for Mother's Day. It was ridiculously busy yet the service was perfect. The hostess - didn't get her name but young brunette in a white and green dress - owned the room and basically jogged between duties. Our server Michael made sure everybody was happy. The food was outstanding. We all loved the multiple uses of plantains and the steak, pig and salmon were wonderful. Everybody age 5-44 - had multiple things we raved about. Biggest negative was the music played, but only because my 5 year old couldn't stop getting up and dancing to it. Great meal and day all around with perfect service. We'll be back."

  • "As the hostess admitted to me, the restaurant overbooked for Mother's Day brunch. It left the entrance crowded with people waiting to be seated. It looked a lot like a cattle call at Denny's or IHOP. The food and service was great as always but they simply tried to serve too many people at once. I wouldn't recommend Churrascos as a Mother's Day option after our visit though it's still a great restaurant for normal dining!"

  • "I reserved a table for 4 at 1:00 for Mother's Day. When I arrived there was a line out the door and I could barely make my way up to the hostess desk. When i made my way up there I wasn't greeted not in the friendliest manner and was told the only tables available were outside in the heat and humidity. Since we hadn't eaten anything all day we decided to take it. The buffet was delicious but extremely busy and hard to manage. The food was great but the overall ambiance of the place kind of ruined the overall vibe of the holiday. I will be back here for a regular meal but will choose to go back to Americas in the Woodlands for any special occasion. "
