Churrascaria PlataformaReliable place for a fun evening.We've brought large groups (10-30) to Plataforma on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Salad bar is excellent, meat is top notch and the place has a very friendly ambience. How can you go wrong with unlimited picanha? The Maitre'D (Dino) had an initial rude interaction with us, throwing us the pen to write on a paper required to choose the side orders, never apologizing for it, just to start our lunch experience... Nobody asked for our side orders preference after we started the meat. I had to ask for somebody to pick up the paper. The restaurant was not crowded, there was no rush but food service ran very low. I had to ask for the variety of cuts and they never presented all of them. I asked for pork ribs and they brought it very late, close to when I was ready to finish. I asked for additional polenta service and it was never brought to the table. He was happy to find a Brazilian Steakhouse in NYC. We were both extremely pleased with the the service, and quality of the meal. Everybody was highly attentive. The manager personally checked in with us at least five different times. Everything from salad bar, steak selections and desserts were delicious. The native Brazilian drink they promoted was very good and the band playing in the front center of the restaurant was just enough. I was personally looking for a specific dessert wine and although they did not have this exact one, my server brought me 2 different ones to choose from, and both were exactly the taste I was looking for. Only drawback is that the prices are increasing to a point where it's now less expensive for a meal at Peter Luger. The meat runners are very pleasant and helpful. The unlimited salad bar is teriffic, but I thought it was peculiar that there was no Hearts of Palm which is a major veggie in Brazil. From their GIANT buffet bar of starters that includes seafood and salads and cheese and a few hot dishes to their selection of sides (try the fried bananas!), this is one unique and satisfying dining experience.
