Churrascaria Plataforma Brazilian Steakhouse is a Rodizio style restaurant. Rodizio is a method of serving meat that originated in the south of Brazil in the early 1800's. The concept is to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef - sirloin, baby beef, top round, skirt steak, short ribs, brisket, rib eye; pork - ham, pork ribs, sausage, pork loin, suckling pig; chicken - chicken legs, chicken hearts; turkey - wrapped in bacon; lamb, fish, etc. in succession, to each diner individually right at their table. A meal typically begins with a trip to the gourmet salad bar, which features a variety of vegetables and composed salads in addition to four hot dishes. We also serve a selection of side dishes at your table. The main course, the highlight of the meal, will start when you flip your coaster-sized "chip" from the red side to the green side, signaling the meat cutters you're ready to be served. Dinners are as stated on the website - extensive salad bar, many sides to choose, and a wide variety of meat served in the Brazilian style, full bar and good desserts. Keep in mind this is a touristy restaurant and not a "New York" restaurant though it does charge NYC prices. Their slogan must be "Get them in and get them out". And yet I would say give it a try."

  • "This was our first visit to Churrascaria in NYC. We had been to Fogo De Chao, another Brazilian Steakhouse, in several other cities, so we were familiar with the overall process. Our primary server was very friendly, helpful and just pleasant to be around. The remaining staff was also positive and efficient. The food was delicious, much better than I anticipated. The atmosphere wasn't quite as romantic as I had hoped. Tables, at times, were too close together, causing the food runners to bump into chairs when squeezing through. At the end of the day, it was an incredible meal but more expensive then I would like. I also didn't like that I was charged for both glasses of soda even though they appeared to be simple fountain soft drinks."

  • "Having eaten in other Brazilian style establishment around the country this one was the worst. The salad bar was never full after two trips I gave up trying to get in shrimps. The servers kept on coming to the table but never had well done meat and had to always go back to get it and then forgot to return to the point that I had to ask the host for help. The vegs would be cold. It got so bad that I ordered cheese cake for desert was charged for cheese cake but never got it the manager had to than remove it from my bill. BEWARE This is not the place to go for good service or reasonable time for service & is way too expensive for what it offers. Many better places in the area to eat. Try the Palms Mortons Carmine's to name a few."

  • "This is one fantastic place to have an occasion whether it be a group or just a couple. The service was outstanding, especially considering we were there on a busy Saturday night. You were never in need of anything. The servers and table captain were constantly attentive to you. The "salad bar" was more of a dinner then a salad bar. The various meat and poultry selections were all incredible, especially the sirloin. The wine selection was robust and they had some bottles I very rarely see on menus of some the better wine bars that are just outstanding."

  • "Churrascaria Plataforma offers rodizios -- all-you-can-eat Brazilian feasts that start with an extensive salad bar (including fish and chicken), followed by waiters carrying, one-by-one, an equally extensive array of grilled meats on large skewers that the waiters slice onto your plate until you tell them to stop. The variety of tastes is awesome, and while none of the tastes is particularly seductive, few are unpleasant. The restaurant's meat-centric pig-out is a lot of fun even if no dish is so wonderful that you'll want more than a sample."

  • "The hostess that kept us waiting was very friendly. After 30 minutes of waiting we get the best table next to the piano.the waiter was perfect. Explained us how the system works and directed us to the buffet while sayin "go easy on it because after that show will start" i was planning to eat very few things from the buffet but it is not possible. Trust me it is a 5 star buffet that you can find everything and all are very delicious. And then the meat show started.rib eye and sirloin are the best.all meats were perfectly cooked and extremely delivious.only the lambchop and flank steak gets a 2 out of 5 from me the rest of them were 5/5.i wanted to continue eating but i was about to explode :) at final we shared 1 tiramisu which was also 5/5"

  • "The salad bar was fantastic, yet I didn't want to eat too much because I knew what I had coming. The first meat delivered to our table was a sirloin steak. If I had ordered this steak in a typical restaurant, I would have been ecstatic. It was delicious, it was tender, it practically melted in your mouth. It turns out that sirloin wasn't even in the top 5 of the meats delivered. Every cut of meat was done perfectly, was so tender, and they all had great flavor. The prime rib was our favorite, but it was close because the flank steak, ribs, lamb, and filet were all perfect as well. When we were finally full, we were disappointed in ourselves. We wanted to still be hungry, but there was no room left. Simply the best dining experience ever!"

  • "Wife found this for dinner before our Broadway show. The service was incredible! Multiple staff, waiters, managers check to see if everything is good. Salad bar includes enough choices to fill you up, but DON'T! Save room for the beef, chicken, lamb, and pork. Flip up your "coin" and get a new slice of some delicious meat every few minutes. Turn down your "coin" when you need time to finish what you have. We both laughed that with every other staff member carrying a giant knife that no one sane would ever rob this restaurant!! If you at all can, do save room for their special South American deserts or try the flan ( it was second only to our homemade Philippine flan). Also try their special signature drink, Caipirinha!! Yum!!"

  • "Arrived a few minutes late for our Valentine's dinner, so we had to wait just a bit to get ourselves a table, but luckily we were seated right next to the jazz band and in Gustavo's section. I'm from Austin, TX, so I'm used to great service, but since moving to NYC, I have not been impressed - untilI met Gustavo. Never was my drink low for more than 30 seconds. Never did I see him shooting the breeze with other staff. Head stayed on a swivel the entire time and he was easily the best waiter I've ever had and deserved every penny of the 35% tip I left him. I made sure to pull his manager aside to commend Gustavo for his hard work, which I believe he truly appreciated. I think that this type of service should never go unrecognized."

I went with my wife and 5 year old son on a Saturday night and it was like stepping off a plane and into a restaurant in Brazil! The food is plentiful, as the servers wander the restaurant with gorgeous cuts of beef, lamb, chicken and other goodies just waiting to cut some for you right at your table. Our head waiter Carlos was a delight, making sure that my 5 year old had some fun and didn't feel intimidated by the servers. They also had live music which was just perfect - not too loud, but just enough to make you feel like you were somewhere special. A real treat!"

  • "This is the 2nd time I've been to Churrascaria Plataforma and I have to say that I was even more impressed this time than the first since I knew what to expect. The only thing I regret is stopping eating too early because I saw all new meats pass by after I had already started on dessert. If I had to make one recommendation to the restaurant, it would be just to make sure that the guys walking around with the meat move equally throughout the place because I felt I missed a bunch of items that I would have liked to try. It seemed like the same guys kept coming to us w/ the same types of meat. That being said, every bit of it was absolutely AMAZING and I would highly recommend to EVERYONE!!"

  • "The service was excellent and on point. Someone was always touching our table ensuring our table was clean and if we needed anything. All the staff from the servers to the maître d to the chefs who replenish the buffet food were very friendly with a smile on their face. They kept the buffet and floor clean at all times. The food was suburb and cooked to perfection so when the meats come to your table it was still fresh and not over cooked one bit. Great experience here and will definitely be back. It's well worth the money for the service and food."
