It is pricey, but we think worth it. We were there for Mother's Day and had a fabulous dinner! We split the strip steak for two and although it took a while to cook, it was delicious and we brought home enough for dinner the next night! The starters were like eye candy and filled the time while the steak cooked.

My only complaint (for lack of a softer word) is that the seating is set up in such a way that you can barely hear the person sitting across from you at your own table but can clearly hear the conversations at the neighboring table. Food was very good, but... I orderd my steak medium and got a medium rare steak. The flavor was wonderful though, so I did not bother sending it back. We loved the ambiance with live piano warming the room. The service was excellent! The appetizers, wines, entrees, and desserts were a slice of heaven.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThere are many good restaurantsThere are many good restaurants in Spokane but my husband, a foodie, picked Churchill's for his birthday because it is his favorite. The educated waitstaff are professional, timely, and helpful. The new york steak for two is always perfectly cooked and delicious. The dinner rolls were hot and fresh. They allowed the children to order sliders off of the bar menu which they loved. The service and food is always excellent. We had a wonderful steak dinner with Prime Beef, which is hard to get in the Inland Northwest and a great bottle of wine. Our waiter was fantastic . We never felt rushed at all.

Was looking forward to a great steak dinner and was not impressed at all. I had the filet, and my wife had the rib steak. Both were cooked as ordered, but were very dry, with a slightly off taste like they had been kept steamed for some time before serving. Neither of us finished our steaks. Both had the Caesar salad, mine was very average, my wife liked hers a little more than I did. We also had their baked potatoes, which were hot and cooked well. Overall we give them a good rating due to the service and ambiance. For the cost of the meal though, the steaks should have been outstanding. It's the best steak in Spokane (our opinion). The crab & corn chowder is a gem, and they never have a problem substituting Au Gratin potatoes for the standard garlic mashed.
We always bring our own wine, but looking over their list shows many gems. We spoke with the wine buyer, and got a sense that she knows her stuff.
Afterwards, we headed downstairs to the bar on Fri night and the music and vocals of Gabe Lapano on the piano. Lots of classics from 40s through 80s. I could hear everyone's conversations around us easily as we were only sitting 2 feet from another table on each side of us. There were two issues I had was the table was very big so I felt like I was far away from my husband. The other was we were so close to the next tables that we couldn't carry a private conversation without others hearing us. Not romantic at all. We could here exactly what the next table was saying. Stuffed baked potato was fantastic but creamed corn was a bit runny and lacked in flavor (therefore very good on food rating vs outstanding). Was told piano player started at 7pm but instead started about 8:30pm as we were leaving....a big reason we sat downstairs. Otherwise, we would have sat upstairs. Very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. Even made a drink that wasn't on menu (Maple Leaf). Our visit to Spokane culminated with a birthday celebration at Churchill's. The place is both classy and comfortable. Food was creative, nicely presented, and as good as anything we've had at upper end steakhouses in Portland. A great place for business clients as well.
