  • "A girlfriend and I had dinner here before a show next door this weekend and we loved it! The place was busy and energetic but comfortable. The drinks were delicious and our food was so satisfying and tasty too - I particularly enjoyed my pork shank!! Great menu, great location, and great way to tie in some live music to your evening plans!"

  • "Went with a group of 7 on a Monday evening. Good beers on tap, decent wine list, flat breads and salads (aka veggie friendly for my wife) as well as some good eats like crab & chorizo sliders."

  • "First time dining here (for brunch before a Sunday Sox game). It wasn't awful, but just not great either. Food was mediocre - nothing to write home about. Service was fine - hostess and server were pleasant, just not memorable. Not very kid friendly either. Maybe if I was with a group of friends for drinks, it might be a better experience. Restaurant had what looked like comfy couch seating, though I couldn't tell if it was a waiting area or actual dining area. In any case, I won't be looking to return anytime soon."

  • "Been to Church a few times. Have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The food was delicious. Started with a nice mixed green salad. It was simple but done well. We had the butternut squash risotto and steak tips for entrees. Both were flavorful. For dessert we had a funny bone and apple empanada. The apple filling had nice spices and the ice cream was a great compliment. If you like peanut butter and chocolate the funny bone is for you! Our server (Amanda) was very awkward and didn't seem to understand our time constraint. We had a 5pm reservation to make sure we had plenty of time to get to our 7pm show. It seemed like our server did everything possible to ensure that did not happen. Would not recommend her"

  • "Was visiting in town and found Church's on Open Table and walked the mile to get there. The place was packed but our reservation was ready and we were seated immediately. The restaurant had a great vibe but not loud so holding a conversation no problem. The service was fantastic, Heather was on point and very attentive without smothering. The food was outstanding, great taste and perfect proportions. Leaving the restaurant it was raining, we were so satisfied from the meal we waved off the cab and walked back in the rain."

  • "I made a 9:30pm Saturday reservation for 8 people for a birthday dinner. After making the reservation I emailed the restaurant to ask for a round table if they had one. They wrote back and said that unfortunately they didn't have one, which was fine. When we arrived the restaurant was mostly empty and the lone server/hostess approached us with nothing but irritation. There was no table set for us. She said we could sit at this area of chairs/couches without a real table for eating on or we could sit at a table that was barely set for 6. We picked the table and proceeded to receive some of the most lackluster service I've ever received. The food was good, the drinks were good. The ambiance was bad because we felt thoroughly unwanted there."

  • "so you can say, "when I went to Church last Sunday", even though you haven't actually been in a church in YEARS... Place was packed but our table was waiting, server introduced himself, and left to get our drinks. We had a great time, food was good, drinks were great...(I had a blood orange champagne drink that was worthy of a second round) coffee was good though there was no sugar at our table, asked for some and finally went to get it myself...would go again, especially when the outdoor patio opens."

  • "First time at Church was excellent. Definitely look for reservations... it gets really busy! 3 different Bloody Marys (veg, bacon, and special - jerk when I was in) makes for a grwat start. Nice breakfast cocktails for those who don't like bloodys. Great veg and non veg options. Took a bit to get the food, but already had drinks so no problem! We tried the flapjacks (lots of butter but not too rich) kale omelette (filling, but too good to not keep eating!) And French Toast (exactly what we expected from it). Though the drinks has a "wow" factor, the food was just solid... I say "just" though really, it was truly a great time. Will definitely return."

  • "I got a side of potato stew served without a spoon.. It took 15 minutes to get servers attention to get a spoon. My girlfriends side of jalepeno rice was cold. Overall ambience was good but food and service were average. Would not go back or recommend!"

  • "I have been to Church several times in the past, and have never been disappointed. This night was no different. Church was hosting a special event in celebration of St. Patrick's - A Taste of Ireland and it was sponsored and featured Jim Bean and The Two Gingers whiskey. There were five courses of notable Irish dishes infused with whiskey. The short ribs dish served on a potato cake were to die for. They were succulent and very well prepared. A featured stew with crispy bacon and Brussels sprouts was the perfect dish on a cold evening. Both savory and smooth, it did not disappoint. My favorite dish was the bread pudding. Simply divine. Not too sweet. And kudos to the signature drink of the night. Should be on the menu."

  • "first visit to church, they have a nice selection of sweet vs savory brunch options. i got the toad in a hole french toast and it was delicious, my husband got the breakfast burrito and it was also very good (spicy and very filling). the service was a tad slow since they weren't packed or anything, but everyone was very nice and we weren't in a hurry. I will definitely be back to try some of the other brunch items, and plan to visit for dinner sometime too."

  • "We went for brunch. Only order the hash if you are absolutely in LOVE with sweet potatoes. Blood orange mimosas and bloody marys were really good. Not sure if they have any other drinks because we didn't get a drink menu. Also, keep an eye on the hostess and make sure she checks off your name. For some reason, we were marked as a no-show and had to follow-up with OpenTable to get credit."

  • "Great service, very friendly staff and the hostess showed us our table the moment we walked in (no wait!). The food was delicious but the flapjacks had a bit of a charred flavor."

  • "Food was fantastic! The quality was superb and there was no skimping on the portion size. The one complaint I have is really out of their control: the view of the convenience store and their bright lighting across the street really takes away from the ambiance. :/"

  • "The cocktail list was quite impressive. Choose from Seven Deadly Sins or Seven Heavenly Virtues. All look delicious and appeared appropriately named. Plus the food was fantastic. Whether simple flatbread or grilled swordfish, everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. Nice ambiance; not too loud even though there are couches suited for large groups, which we sat right behind. Loved this little neighborhood gem just down a side street from Fenway."

  • "Church had a brunch option for everyone. The food was delicious and I really enjoyed their bacon bloody mary! My friend had the blood orange mimosa which was also delicious. Definitely coming back next time I am in Boston"

  • "I have been here twice and I loved the food both times. I went on Valentine's Day and brought my boyfriend there because I was so happy the first time I went. This time it was a bit disappointing when he said the food is good but not hot. Our food was barely warm and by the time we were done eating everything was ice cold. Thank goodness it had flavor or I would have been very upset. We will come back and hope that everything is hot! Our waitress, Mia also helped enhance the experience!"

  • "Service was amazing. The waitress was very friendly, happy and engaging. She knows how to treat her customers like family. The food was wonderful. Pot pie was delicious and the pork sharks was tender and juicy. Dessert was the icing on the cake, both the Apple empanadas and the funny bone chocolate cake!"

  • "Had a very nice brunch experience at Church. Food was tasty and well presented, and they make a terrific Mimosa. Special kudos to the waitstaff for being prompt but not hovering, informative but not chatty, and especially for letting us linger at the end of our meal even though the restaurant was full."

  • "Great dining experience. Location is great to Fenway and other activities in the area. The atmosphere was hip and happening. We loved our waitress, the service and our dinner. The Swordfish was so great with all the fixins. Almost licked my plate. my friends got the Portuguese Cod and were extremely satisfied with it. Deseert was awesome as well. Would totally go back and recommend Church to friends."

  • "The corn bread was probably my favorite part of the meal! However, the eggplant involtini was also delicious! Everything was great..my only regret is that I ate too much cornbread and did not save room for dessert"

  • "We had a delicious meal. The steak tips were done to perfection; the truffle fries were perfection and the mac & cheese was to-die-for. It was the perfect end to an afternoon at the MFA."

  • "Brunch food was phenomenal, the drinks are pretty well priced (we got bloody mary's for $6 each) and if you live in the neighborhood, it's a great spot. Only complaint is that the waitress wasn't super friendly and a bit rude. I'd like to see that change in the future."

  • "i needed a brunch place for a group of 6, and picked church cuz i could make an open table rez. had had dinner there once before, and feared it would be too hipster/sceney for my group, too fancy and too busy and loud. on the contrary, we had a table in the corner and could talk easily. it was comfortable and casual, not too sceney at all. had an amazing burger, and a bloody mary with bacon-infused vodka that was delicious!"

  • "We came before Frozen Fenway hoping to get a decent meal. Well, they surpassed our goal by a long shot. The food was delicious, service amazing and everything in general was great about our visit. We shared an appetizer of fried calamari and had the steak tips with Parmesan fries. A small dipping cup of ketchup was included but was not needed. The one thing that was odd was that they don't have any ranch or bleu cheese available. Unfortunately we were running late for the game and was unable to try any of the desserts. The entire staff was very friendly and just about every waiter or waitress that passed us greeted us. Lastly, the price was decent and portions were huge. I would love to come back here before any game I attend at Fenway."

  • "Went to Church with a group of 7. The drinks were good, food was average but the service was below par. Our waitress was unfriendly and moody. On top of that, she granted herself a 20% gratuity because we were >6 people."

  • "I have been dining here for the past few years, often before Red Sox games. There may be a slight deterioration in the food quality over time. The cocktails are excellent. Our fried calamari was greasy and clumped together. The Parmesan truffle fries were outstanding. My sister said that her macaroni and cheese was not very good, and my steak tips were a bit chewy. Service was uneven. Had to track down server for silverware and had to ask for bread. I do like the seasonal menu and will most likely keep coming back."

  • "We went in for brunch on New Years Day and it was delish. Drinks and food were solid (the apple pancakes are super yummy). The only downside was we had a reservation for 8 and the place isn't that big to begin with. The other party that was at "our" table wasn't leaving so we ended up having to wait awhile and then finally resorted to pushing three round high-top tables together. We would have preferred a more traditional table but it wasn't that big of a deal at the end of the day! Our server was a little cranky but it was the day after NYE so I'll cut her some slack :)"

  • "I had made my reservation for 8 people for 1:00pm on New Years Day because I knew it would be busy. Our plans later changed and I called the restaurant around 11:00am to let the restaurant know that we would only be a party of 4. We arrived about 10 minutes before 1 and were told it would be a 15 minute wait. We waited for about 15 minutes and still were not served. The hostess was chatting with friends instead of clearing tables. A party of 7 then got seated before us. Once we were finally seated, we waited 15 minutes before a waitress came but only after asking someone else to send someone to our table. She later explained to us that she was extremely hungover and only 2 waiters showed up today. Multiple items we ordered did not arrive."
