Christy HillTahoe City favoriteThis was our second time at Christy Hill and I don't think a visit to Tahoe would be the same, for us, without eating here. Our server was excellent...personable, friendly, knowledgeable. The food is as good as anything you get in SF (even better than some as they really try to source locally). I had pappardelle with mushrooms, chicken and peas (I don't do the dish justice with this description but I'll just say the pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked, the peas were definitely just picked, and the mild morel flavor pulled everything together)...my husband had the halibut--also excellent. I saw some diners with very well behaved kids (I think there's a kids' menu???)...Best food on the lake, in my opinion...6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMexceptional serviceI took my bride of 24 years to Christie Hill to celebrate our anniversary. Because I included a note in my openTable reservation, they knew it was a special occasion for us. We were promptly escorted to the best seat in the house and were given complimentary champagne. Service was personal and frequent but not intrusive.
My bride enjoyed the halibut while I ordered the bison short rib. Presentation was gorgeous, though the portion of bison was ridiculously small. We did not find anything to our liking on the dessert menu but, knowing it was our anniversary, our server probed our preferences and brought us a treat that we both enjoyed -- again, complimentary.

The salads were awesome..the morrocan lamb was outstanding, and the dessert and appetizers as well. We photograped every item they brought out ...a vsual delight !!!!! They were very accommodating to us with our 3 month old child. The Hamachi appetizer was excellent, but my wife's asparagus bisque was so-so. I got the Duck Duet which - breast was ok, duck confit was very good. My wife's short rib was overcooked and dry. I got the dessert cheese plate which was not very adventurous and a little boring. My wife's creme brulee was very good. Cappuccinos were excellent. The place was beautiful and you could tell many people were there for special occasions.
