Always a good choiceThere is nothing I would change about Chouquet's ... the food is excellent, the menu interesting without being over the top, the service attentive but not intrusive, a conversation can be had without having to shout, the location in Pacific Heights is close to many neighborhoods, the (street) parking is generally available without much trouble ... what's not to like?!
We considered dining at a well-known place downtown, but knew that the menu, the food, and the service would be superb at Chouquet's, so why go downtown? We were not disappointed. Chouquet's is just as a restaurant should be.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent for LunchThis small gem has the most European feel of any restaurant on Fillmore Street. Outside tables, inside European style table seating. Menu has a good balance of choices - reminds one of a true French Bistro. Lunch rush is a small problem but if you allow a good hour to eat, they will make sure you are out the door. Any extra requests are immediately satisfied.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMService was good. We wereService was good. We were running late on our reservation and they were very accomodating. Food was good. I started with the onion soup. The cheese had a charred flavor to it but other than that it was tasty. Overall, food was good and we would go back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWine DinnerThe Special Wine Dinner with French Wines paired with the different courses was an especially pleasing event. Few places do this and we are so fortunate to have been there. Each course was beautiful to see and the taste was exceptional...very special event. Hope they do this more than once a year...but the food at Chouquet's is outstanding every day but this was something special.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! My experience here was amazing, staff and kitchen were definitely at the top of their game! The escargot was perfect, burger was heavenly, and their deserts looked as amazing as they tasted. Definitely recommend highly!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate at Chouquet's afterWe ate at Chouquet's after seeing a film at The Clay. Great to have a restaurant that stays open past mid afternnon with more than a bar menu. Both of us had a french wine and the salmon with fennel & spinach. It was the perfect amount of food and well priced.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally, a quiet classy restaurantWe wanted a quiet place to meet two out of towners. We needed to have an important conversation but also show them a good time and thank them for their help with a major project. Chouquet offered good food and nice ambiance and - that elusive ingredient - quiet! The wine suggestion was excellent; the food was good with the exception of my entree. The boef bourginon was way too salty, so they offered to take it back and prepare something else. My husband (who loves salt) ate my entree and gave me the rest of his scallops with black rice risotto (delicious). Chouguet did not charge us for the boef bourginon. Classy. We shared two desserts and I thought the apple tartlette was divine.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstanding kitchen!Have eaten twice at Choquet's in last month. Food is outstanding. Look forward to going there again.
