The server was very nice and comped us an item that we hadn't ordered. Unfortunately, one of us is a vegetarian, and the menu didn't indicate that the item she ordered had ham in it. We didn't bring it up, because it was our mistake not to ask, but I think major components of a dish should be mentioned on the menu!

"
This place is a great neighborhood spot but could improve with better service. Our waitress was pleasant but very inattentive. She waited until the end of our meal to ask me if I wanted a second glass of wine. She was barely at our table the entire evening. They could do better. Instead of hanging behind the bar with the other waiter, the waitress should have been observing her tables. The food is very good and I will still go back but it won't be my first choice until they improve the service.

My boyfriend and I met for a spontaneous date at Chouquet's for dinner last Thursday night, and we had a very romantic evening! The food was great, the service was wonderful (and our little French waitress was adorable), and it wasn't crowded or loud like many other popular restaurants in the city can be. We'll definitely be returning and recommending to friends.

The food was good, eggs (split the omelet and benedict) were over-cooked and not as warm as I like them but the place was jam-packed and everyone seemed to arrive at the same time. We were a party of 5 and the two people in our party that ordered the burgers and Frisee salad loved their food.The atmosphere and location are great. I would definitely go back, thinking that the when not so packed the food would be great.

We had a delightful dinner at Chouquet's last Saturday. We were a little short on time, having a concert to go to but we were promised that they would accommodate us. And they did! Everything worked out perfectly. The food was outstanding: the pureed vegetable soup was very good, the warm smoked trout salad was heavenly and the special, tuna steaks with asparagus and lima beans was absolutely wonderful. We had great Napa wine also. We had such a good time we decided to invite our kids to accompany us to Chouquet's next Sunday. A great experience!

I went with a group of friends. I have been to this restaurant before for brunch and loved it. My only criticism is that, understanding this is a French restaurant, it's also located in San Francisco, and therefore they should have a few more vegetarian options. I was able to make a respectable dinner from a salad and soup. And, of course, crème brûlée, which was excellent.
