  • "So when you pay close to $200 for a meal you may have expectations such as a table being ready on time or the bar tender being capable of mixing a Mojito or perhaps locals not hitting on your girlfriend at the bar while waiting on the table you reserved. If you have any of these expectations than do not consider dinning at Chops. On the other hand the waiter was friendly and the steak and lobster were amazing. The sides left much to be be desired."

  • "Been to this restaurant 3 times now. Always great food. Went on Father's Day. Waiters hustle. My only complaint Is that no one knows what to do with an Open Table guest so that we are "checked in" to get our points. They were apologetic and said they would leave a note for the owner. This is not the first participating restaurant that had no idea what Open Table was."

  • "It started when we arrived, the hostess wanted to seat us right in front of the door. When we asked for a different table, she seemed bothered by our request, yet the restaurant was full of open tables, not patrons. But after we were seated, our server-was as slow as deputy dog and he remained inattentive the entire evening...my husband's steak (King Filet) was just about raw in the middle, even though he said the first couple of bites were good. It took almost 20 minutes to get drink refills. And we drank our beverages quickly because the bread was so dry WITH butter. And the straw the broke the camel's back was that we spent the evening fanning away gnats. Definitely an EXPENSIVE lesson!"

  • "My husband and I went to chops while on vacation at VA Beach. We had a great time, the food was great (a bit too salty for my taste, but perfectly cooked). Wonderful wine. Wine list was a bit expensive if you wanted to get a good bottle (there were no mid range options). The service was wonderful! The listing for the restaurant says "business casual" dress, I would disagree with that (and based on the discussion with the hostess it is not their expectation) - while certainly not a shorts and tshirt, just of the beach restaurant- Jeans were certainly welcome (and there were a few shorts). I almost didn't book the restaurant because of the dress code, don't let that hold you back!! Wonderful time."

  • "This place is the best. I booked 15 minutes prior through Open Table on a Saturday night!! I was down the street at a popular hotel that had 2 restaurants plus outside seating. I couldn't get a seat at the bar and both restaurants said 1hour45 min. Wait. Plus they acted like we were bothering them because it was too crowded. Got to Chops and they were busy but we were greated with smiles and seated immediately while asking if the seating was what we wanted!! Food and service was even better. So glad we ended up there and we will be back! Worth every penny and prices were good!! "

  • "We had never been here before...looking for something different. Location is great in Virginia Beach. Valet parking available. we brought our own wine, uncorking fee is average at $25, but our waitress, Lauren, was knowledgeable about wine which was refreshing. I had Filet Oscar medium rare.....it was perfect!! the mushroom risotto was creamy and flavorful! We were with a group of 5 on a Friday night and never had to wait for anything thanks to the super service. Would highly recommend Chops if you are in the mood for great food, energetic atmosphere (oh yeah, there is live music here too) and some great service."

Need a better selection of wines available by the glass and the hostess desk needs a little work.   • "We went to chops on a Thursday night and it was very quiet and we had a cozy booth in the corner. The waiter was super sweet and personable. Of course we offered steaks and they were seriously the best steaks ever! We got the dry aged steaks with the side of lump crab! Yum! Then a side of asparagus and Caesar salad and baked potato! Oh also got the roasted mushrooms. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It is expensive but worth the money! I have already told so many people about Chops! We are already planning a dinner there for our anniversary, I am sure we will he back sooner. When we left the bar area was hopping and they offer happy hour specials, so we might go there next week for happy hour!"

  • "First time Great. The second time was a complete bust. The reservation and the area requested were great. However, the hostess needs to better prepare herself and dress. She seated us in a timely manner and took our drink order, then 5 minutes later a waiter came by and took our drink order. 10 minutes later we received our drinks. The waiter then took our order and the salad came in a timely manner. but thats the last time we saw him. Our food was served by another waiter and we didn't see him again. He semed to be friends with customers at another table and it took me 10 minutes to get his attention to get more water. For $100.00 plus, this was not an nice evening out for a special occasion. The $10.00 tip was left for poor service."
