Chops Lobster Bar - Boca RatonGood Food Service needs improvementWe were 5 for dinner. The waiter was friendly and explained each of the specials and was familiar with how the dishes were prepared. He answered all of our questions.
Each of us ordered different dishes and everyone was very pleased with both the taste and presentation. Although 2 of us ordered lobster only one was given drawn butter which was not correct.
Service was somewhat slow (dinner took 3 hours). I had to wave down the waiter to get some more coffee which should have been offered without hesitation. I also did notice that 3 waiters were standing around chatting with each other for longer than they should rather than attending to their tables.

The lobster mac and cheese was a bit rich and the hashbrowns were wonderful. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. The banana cream pie was a bit too sweet and that would be the only minor thing to mention. They make a flash fried lobster tail which is very different but tastes great. They couldnt call a cab for us and when our cab showed up twenty minutes later the valet tried to give it away. I would go but not it your bringing a group from out of town. I was told one of the other groups paid the valets to take them back to the resort, didnt know valets would drive a range rover, but maybe I'm being presumptious. After requesting the same table where my wife and I enjoyed dinner almost two years ago on the night that I proposed, the staff treated us to one of our best dining experiences. The service and attention to detail exceeded my expectations and the food was equally as amazing. Needless to say, my wife and I will spend every future anniversary celebrating with the wonderful people at Chops. Thanks again!!

The service was always outstanding except for my last visit. The waiters looked harried, overworked and unhappy to be there. No one offered to refill our empty wine or water glasses. It took 20 minutes for our waiter to take our food order and 30 minutes for bread to arrive. I hope that this is not the usual experience, or that management is trying to cut expenses by giving waiters too many tables. There is a three course prix fixe menu at $49 with some upcharges for Lobster or Dover Sole, but a good value. The wine list is large and varied with mark-ups ranging from 2-3 times retail. The food was good. I had the swordfish and it was very good. I tried to order it less the potatoes and the server said it was part of the entrée. When it arrived, it had 2 disks of potato which could have been left off my plate without a problem. I did not eat them. Wife had the lamp chop and she said it was good. My wife had lamb chops , I had the bone in rib eye. Both were prepared exactly as we ordered The well done hash browns and baked potatoe were perfect .
For desert , the best cheese cake we have ever had .
