  • "This was our first time here and wont be the last. We began our evening at the bar for a drink. We were greeted by the bartender Chrissy who was so friendly and attentive. There was a two piece Band at the bar that was very good. I was impressed when I saw one of the managers come over to them and asked them to lower the volume as it would bother customers who were dining. I was We were able to have great conversations at the table without raising our voices. Excellent lobster, and the steaks were better than our NewYork steak houses. Service was outstanding. The waitress (her middle name Emily)was attentive,very friendly, and gave excellent suggestions. Great experience."

  • "Dined here many times. Food is great. Service staff is professional, attentive and knowledgeable. The general manager runs a well-run restaurant. One problem - the Maitre d' got into a screaming match with one of my guests. I acknowledge that my guest initiated it and can be very aggressive, but the Maitre d' made the matter much worse. He claims that he never disagrees with a customer, but he did a great job of disagreeing and matched my guest's decibel level. Not a very pleasant end to a wonderful meal."

  • "We arrived early to enjoy happy hour and then enjoyed the 3 course $49 dinner, tithe food was just ok, had to send steak back overlooked . The servers repeatedly came to the table , not to ask how we were doing but to take plates away , which was very annoying. Also there was a difficult time with check and paying the balance with the ultimate card and not getting it back??! Other times it has been very enjoyable."

  • "Probably not a fair critique because my guest send I are primarily fish eaters and this is essentially a steakhouse. Nevertheless, the fish dishes all have spectacular descriptions but the dishes we ordered were only ok. Sounded better than they tasted. Some waitstaff was very attentive; ours was not. Most disturbing was an attempted slight of hand on the wine vintage. Brought a different vintage on a $100+ wine than listed on the wine list. Told that they print not all vintages may be available. Tell me that before bringing over the bottle, acting as if it was the vintage listed and then make no adjustment on the price. Really? Just be forthright and do the right thing. Amateur move and insulting. Too many other better choices in town"

  • "We are connoisseurs of fine steak houses, and are long time fans of Morton's. For a change, for my wife's birthday, we visited Chops Lobster Bar in Boca Raton. We had a great time. Friendly, attentive wait staff, delicious appetizers (of note were the escargots with individual puff pastries) the steaks were prepared perfectly, and the cold water lobster tail was moist and sweet. The lobster Mac n cheese is not to be missed. The wine list was inclusive and surprisingly reasonable for a place of this level This place hit all the high point of a great steak house meal. We will be back!"

  • "Visually interesting restaurant, excellent service, fine food and drink. Lovely meal. Shrimp cocktail appetizer was as expected, but the lump crab cocktail was extraordinary, the sauces served with it could be more interesting . Steaks were cooked and seasoned to a perfect medium rare, as ordered. The broccoli was streamed just the right amount and was not too hard, not too soft, just right. Next time we eat here we will try something other than the Lyonnaise potatoes; while they were tasty, we would want to try one of there other potato selection, such as garlic mashed or hash brown. Capping the meal off: a dense, not overly sweet bread pudding served with small scoops of vanilla ice cream and homemade whipped cream and vanilla sauce."

Every time I have received such a high level of attention and respect that I feel like a VIP. Every dish has been perfection, the quality, combination of ingredients, all perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. Definitely a priority to dine here when visiting Boca Raton."

  • "Our head server was distracted by showing another table her photos on her phone. Her back up server actually paid attention to us. My husband ordered the Kobe A5 steak at $89 and it was no better then most steaks ordered at other places at a fraction of the cost. No one came over to check to see if it was cooked to order which it wasn't and by the time someone came by too late to send back. I had the lobster stuffed lobster which was okay. Oysters on the half shell that my husband ordered was very good he said. Overall for a $250 dinner was very disappointed and for our first time there will not be going back anytime soon."

  • "We went with great expectations for a great birthday meeting, instead we were very disappointed - poor service, mediocre food. It took 45 minutes to get our entrees and then they were cold and the steaks overcooked, and not very good. The waiter also forgot one of the desserts. They didn't charge for one of the cold sides we told him about , but didnt offer to do anything about the overcooked steaks. All in all very disappointing and no plans to return."

  • "It had been three years since we dined at Chops but we knew we wanted to go back the next time we were in Boca Raton. It did not disappoint. Our server was wonderful and the food was great. WE were told that there's a prix fixe menu from Sunday - Thursday that included a number of great choices and half of us ordered it. Now we hope another three years don't pass before we return."

  • "The lobster tail was not in the tail. It was served like a dish of mashed potatoes. Moreover the lobster was tough. Had to use a serrated edge knife to cut it. Ate half and had the rest packaged to go. Threw away the package on the way home. Table 50 was noisy and didn't provide the joy of the past. Price ($160) for the meal (with one glass of wine) for two (plus $30 tip) = $190 not worth it. Next time: Truluck's"

  • "The food at Chops is consistently delicious. My husband and I both ordered steaks...his came too well done and the waiter removed it immediately and ordered him a new one. The manager came over and apologized and told us my husband's meal would be on the house. He felt bad that we basically were eating separately. Even the dessert was on the house!!!"

  • "Our party of six came to Chops to celabrate a 65th birthday. We were given a nice table which was held for us as one of our party could not find the restaurant. The food and service that followed was at best okay. The steak tartar was prepared at the table and it had so much anchovy added that it was terrible. The crab cake was swimming in a sauce that almost ruined the dish. Everything else was disappointing. We will not be back."
