Atmosphere at Chop is modern,Atmosphere at Chop is modern, clean and elegant. The service is outstanding: friendly but professional and attentive without being intrusive. Steaks were cooked exactly as ordered; fish was fresh and cooked gently and the vegetables were perfectly tender-crisp. The wine list is good, with a number of selections available by the glass. The only negative was that one of our party found the sauce for the fish quite salty (other dishes seemed to be appropriately seasoned). The servers were pretty courteous. The only thing that was lacking was class. The restaurant is clearly targeting a higher end patronage, but servers were comparable to cactus club or the keg. The brunch menu is often very limited, the prices raised, and the service not on because they're busy, etc.
We had reservations with special requests (wheelchair access and high chair/booster). They got them all right, which impressed me because often we have issues with that for whatever reason. The brunch menu had a good selection, priced right for the restaurant. The servings were a good size and everyone loved the taste of their meal. Our waitress was attentive, but not too much. There were three Moms at our table and we all got lovely pots of herbs wrapped up as a parting gift. It was a nice touch.
