  • "1. Service was notably poor. It took almost an hour to take our order and almost an hour to get our food, and we had to go hunt down a waitress to bring the bill 2. Several people ordered the ahi tuna salad and it did not have dressing at all, whereas others ordered the same thing and it came with the dressing on the side 3. Reservations - I asked them to let me know if I could move up my reservation for 16 any earlier. Less than 3 hours before our reservation they called to say they could but by then it was definitely too short notice for so many people."

  • "I have been wanting to try CHOP since it opened and finally made it there with a friend. I ordered the crab/seafood boil and she ordered a steak. My seafood dish was very bland and somehow I guess I envisioned Dungeness crab seeing as how we are next to the coast. And usually when you have to use your fingers you get a finger bowl. a bit messy. My friend ordered her steak medium rare but it was definitely well done. The service was great, we certainly enjoyed the wine. bit disappointing for sure in the food department."

  • "Our server was very poor. She kept forgetting things. We got half our entrees and had to wait for the others and then did not have cutlery. There was a fly in the milk when the coffee was served. The carrots were hardly cooked. We will be hard pressed to go there again after having been repeat customers. Disappointing and embarrassing as we took guests there. We were surprised how few people there were in the place."

We were organizing a farewell for a colleague and wanted to find a location easy to access from both Richmond and other parts of the city...good food, we have an excellent waiter and we enjoyed ourselves very much. I have been here also in the summer for the outdoor bar/restaurant...great spot on a sunny, hot day!"

  • "We were a group of women celebrating a co-workers birthday. One of our party received a steak sandwich that appeared to be off and tasted quite awful. Although this was replaced with a fresh steak it was disappointing to know that the steak was served in the first place. This same diner had her lunch completely ruined when her glass arrived with a large lipstick stain - she was not wearing lipstick. We have been dining at Chop since it opened but have noticed a definite decline in the food over the past few years. Unfortunately it looks like we will have to find other restaurants to dine at in the future."

  • "As I wrote my review it kept saying it's too long! So I'm not going to give details as this won't let me. 3rd time there as per requested from the manager & it just got worse! Drinks 20-25mins late, appy order was never placed, found our waiter playing in the kitchen with a co-worker aiming food into his mouth, appy came 20mins after we had waited 20mins to find out he never placed the order, bread never came & my dinner order was completely wrong! Valentines Day dinner gone completely wrong! Very disappointed! Will email Eric with details since there not even character space on here. Thank you!"

  • "I had been to this place for lunch a year prior and it was great! Excellent food and good service. We were a group of 11 people (for business) in a 'private room', the service was a disaster and the restaurant was quiet. I had to serve the wine after they brought the 1st bottle for the whole service. Plates from appetizers were not all cleared when they brought the main course and I had to tell the waiter to clear those place. Some plates were left on the table when the dessert came. No attention, I had to get up to ask for cutleries, the bill, service..... It has been a long time since I experience such poor service. Not impressed. Cute looking girl but they did not care about their guests. I would not go back again. The Food was good!"

  • "Beautiful décor and comfortable ambience. Delicious French onion soup, good portions for the prime rib. Waitress didn't count the number of guests and bring enough bread (wasn't enough for one slice per person) but she was very friendly and attentive with drinks. Online menu pricing out of date. The menus in the restaurant also had inconsistent pricing. Some menus had $27.95 for the top sirloin, some had $28.95. Pleased that the food came out at the same time for everyone. Overall good experience and would come again."

Wine list is reasonable and variety of price levels and choices. Was a little bit noisy from a table next to us with a similar sized group that was more focused on updating their social media status and taking pictures all night."

  • "When we came in my husband and I were greeted by 2 hostesses, One was extremely nice and polite, (offered to take our umbrella, asked how our weekend has been) but the other one was completely ignoring us (just confirmed our reservation for the night. Later on when we're leaving we found her sitting down at the reception area with her feet up the coffee table. I guess she was off but I don't think that's appropriate.) When we were seated our waiter came and she learned her hips in the table and she said 'so we have our valentine's day menu but it's no big deal, it's part of the regular menu anyways so whatever you know. Oh no my nail broke!'. I couldn't help but stare at her. Overall, food was okay. We were just put off by this waitress."

  • "In honour of Valentines day a glass of champagne on arrival was a bonus treat, but as it had been pre-poured, it was a little flat and warm. The meals were excellent, starter caesar salad was crisp and delicious (lots of garlic), Tuna tataki was good, the steaks were all cooked as ordered. French fries ordered with one of the meals arrived soggy and cool. A new order was brought, but still the fries were a bit soft. The wine and ordered drinks were excellent and timely. The service was excellent. I would go back to this restaurant."

  • "Went there for a valentines day lunch 1pm was not bust at all. ordered soup and ceaser salad combo, lime mussels , onion rings, our soup combo was wrong our server sent us just the soup n bread.. and then minutes later the hostess sent us a soup and garden salad combo, i asked our server if they split the soup and gave us the wrong type of salad.He exchanged the salad.The salad was all dressing took one bite and the soup looked and tasted like bottom of the pot and microwave. Worse seafood chowder n salad ever. Our 9.00 onion rings seem to be over fried was hard as rock. lime mussel was the worse.$15 for sour mussel I ate them because it was 1.00 a piece.The coconut lime was so sour.. i had to mix it in my soup to mask the sour taste."

  • "I brought my girlfriend to CHOP to celebrate the 20th month of our relationship. Our server, Blake, was very polite and helpful. We tried the Coconut Lime Mussels, as suggested by our server, and they were fantastic. Blake had asked us if we were celebrating anything that night, and we mentioned that we were celebrating our 20-month "anniversary". My girlfriend had the Rib Eye steak, and I had the Prime Rib, both of which were superb. As I asked for the dessert menu, Blake offered to buy us the Dessert Trio since it was our anniversary. He also brought out a CHOP Happy Anniversary card for us. The service we received went above and beyond our expectations; coupled with the fantastic food, our night was made truly memorable."

  • "This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I have to say it was a lovely place to dine very quiet and very romantic , the interior was lovely . The lady that sat us at our table was very pleasant and asked if we preferred a booth or table which was nice either would have been fine but we sat in a booth was a nice experience . The waiter was not really content with us at all as we witnessed another server at another table talking and explain the menu our server was not as welcoming and friendly . I do have to say the food was divine and would go back soon to have the prime rib is was cooked with expertise .. I was disappointed that they had no Mussels as the server said they had just ran out ."

  • "We reserved with CHOP Steakhouse as part of DineOut Vancouver. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the DineOut menu looked enticing. The food however, failed to impress us as it should have for this occasion that is designed to solicity future business. The appetizer soup was lukewarm. The portions were small and the steak not done as requested. We were allowed to choose either vegetables or potato with our meals. Dessert was served in a demi-tasse that provided a miniscule serving. It felt as if the restaurant did not want to go to any expense for our meals."

The staff was attentive and I enjoyed seeing all levels of staff from the front staff, management and even the chef helping out and serving food -- checking up on you to see if you are fine and need anything. They really know how to make your experience memorable. It was so busy but the high level of service did not get effected throughout our meal. I will definitely come back again and have been here previously for a large group birthday celebration. They have private rooms to accommodate large groups. Love it!!"

This restaurant appears to be trying to attract the same clients as the Keg and it falls short.   • "I made a reservation for Chop as part of Dine Out Vancouver. The menu looked good but being that it was part of an airport hotel and a chain, I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. Very pleasantly surprised. On arrival we found two different menus, one for $28 which was 3 course, and one for $38 which was four course. Two of us went for the $38 menu and were very happy with every aspect of our meals. I did fund some stuff was under-seasoned, but there was salt on the table so that was easily fixed. The service was excellent: Blake was non-intrusive but thorough, and when I sent my drink back as being too spicy they immediately brought me a new one that was less spicy. The desserts were divine! I will definitely be back."

  • "I made a reservation for a party of 12 a week ahead for my daughter's one year party. I specifically specified a baby friendly room with room for stroller and high chair. However, when we arrived, we were brought to a separate room in the lounge area where the music was extremely loud. We also had to ask twice before anyone bothered to get a high chair for us. It was also dine out at Chop so we understood that they were busy, but to take 45min for bread to come and 1.5 for the food to come, that was a bit ridiculous. I usually love the food at CHOP but I was disappointed with the quality. Soup was almost cold, and dessert, my usual favourite of rum cake was also cold ( not counting the ice cream)."
