The waiter didn't know how to open a bottle of wine and referred to it as #156 like a Chinese restaurant menu. The food was over priced for what it was. The Keg serves a better steak. The lobster was mushy and unapetising.

Chop is totally worth the money you pay for it. I have always been impressed by their servers, who are quite professional, courteous and give you a fine dining experience. You can choose any item on the menu and be sure you will enjoy it. Ask them for wine suggestions as well.

As a "steakhouse" your restaurant fits the bill....however for a second time your chefs ability to cook fish to what is expected by the customer has been disappointing. the manager was notified of this and we were comp'd our meal...not required however a nice gesture. Our server was very professional and gave us the time we were looking for to enjoy our company.

The food as not as good as when it first opened, the steak I wanted was too raw even though I asked for a medium well, the "mashed potatoes" were not mashed at all and the portion size was terrible for $30.00 Not coming back and as a Sait professional cooking student I am not recommending this place to anyone. Waitress never asked how the food was either.

Went to Chops with a friend for supper and what a great time was had! The food was delicious and well prepared, the place was clean, great atmosphere, pleasant and our waiter (Alex) was wonderful and knew his menu well! Definitely recommend Chops for a nice evening out romantically, with a group of friends or even alone.

Ordered Steak Oscar with a soup side. Soup was delicious. Steak came out under cooked and was re-fired. Asparagus was not trimmed. The bottom 2-1/2"-3" were like wood. The baked potato was "loaded" but it tasted like they mixed some off tasting plastic right into the potato. It was also slightly under cooked are hard. It was a birthday dinner. The sauce and shimp was great. I've had better for 1/3rd the price.

We had a reservation and still had to wait 10 minutes for our table. The manager had to take our drink order and then our food order because the waitress was too busy with other tables. The burger we ordered was good but the fries were cold. Had to ask to get our drinks refilled, which again the manager had to do. The only reason this restaurant is still in business is because there are not many dining options available at Chinook.

I had the French Onion Soup - very flavourful broth, Ceasar Salad - nothing outstanding, Steak Oscar - Steak was hard to cut and eat, green beans were tough, Bearnaise sauce was very flavourful, asparagus was good, side of mushrooms - dry, White Sangria - very nice. Would probably not go back. Though the restaurant gave me discount on my entree, it was not an enjoyable meal. I felt we were hovered over by the waiter because the restaurant was empty. I felt rushed. My mouth hurt because of the steak and green beans so I left in pain. The ambiance felt tired. I could tell at one time it must have been quite beautiful but no FELT dusty (though I did not see any dust) and tired.

A girlfriend and I decided to go to Chop since we were also seeing a movie the same night. The wine selection was a bit overpriced for the vineyards they were from so we went with the Chop's House White (Montalto). The taste was comparable to other Pinot Grigios on the menu so it isn't necessary to go with the higher priced ones. We both had the Maple Bourbon Haddock. It was delicious! Cooked to perfection and the portion size was perfect. The service was good and our waitress was very pleasant. The chairs in the dining room are very comfortable and the ambiance was nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

We had a great experience at chop. It was very busy but they were able to seat us quite efficiently. The steaks were cooked perfectly and all of our dinners were delicious. Some of the drinks however left something to be desired. The mojito was quite bland, and the Daiquiri's were too creamy. Over all though we had a great night out with friends!

Hubby and I both had the steak and lobster. It was cooked to perfection - medium rare. It was thick and juicy with a great rock salt and pepper seasoning. The lobster delightfully tender and moist, dipped into the melted butter. We also shared the parmesan bacon chicken wings for a starter... they also were sooo good! The manager approached us and our friends and asked if we would mind to move to a smaller table, as they had a request for ours. The move was done seamlessly, with staff moving our drinks etc. And the manager took care of our appetizer and our friend's dessert. It was a very professional way to handle the situation, and I was impressed. Will definetly be back.

We have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the past and enjoyed it. We took some out of town guests there on Friday night and were greatly disappointed. We had an allergy that we made the waiter aware of and this was missed when they brought the dinner out. The overall experience was not what we are used to when dining at Chop.

Great food, great ambience, great price point, but so-so service brought it down a notch. We actually had to ask for steak knives in a steak house....and took 5 minutes to get them? A bit more attention to details would be nice. Also there seemed to be a constant meeting at the hostess station with various, hostess, wait staff, bussers, and cooks and/or chefs. I really do not think you want to be having groups congregating in the front as the first thing a guest sees when he arrives or watches throughout thier meal.

Ordered the Steak and Crab legs dinner, Steak was cooked perfect to Medium. Crab was done great too. But the melted butter was terrible. Tasted like they melted Margarine and oil. Had this awful taste that not good, smelled like a old deep fryer. But my friends meal of the Steak Oscar and the apps were great. Just the melted butter was off.

We had dined at Chop before and it was mediocre, but we'd been given a gift card so we decided to use it. We took our two kids (3 and 6) for dinner after a day shopping. It was early - probably about 4:30pm - which I'm sure made a difference in the noise level and willingness to have kids in the restaurant, but their kids menu is fantastic. Quality food for a very competitive price - fresh veggies, salmon filet, handcut fries, etc. - all things that I am so relieved to feed my kids (instead of a squished McD's patty for the same price.) Mom & dad enjoyed their meals as well. Service was quick. We'll be back for dinner when we want to eat something a bit higher quality and not pay for a sitter!

Well we had great weather so we went to the rooftop patio. Which was nice and warm with heaters on just as the sun went down, had some good drinks a fuzzy Bellini and a beers both were good as they should be. Ordered our meals shortly after. Service was a bit slow but they probably could have used 3 servers on the patio, food came up in reasonable time but my meal was wrong, I had ordered the wasabi encrusted ahi tuna and I got the ahi tuna salad. They apologized and rushed the order back. Probably 10 minutes and I had the proper meal in front of me. They comped my meal which was nice and apologized several times for the mistake. Both our meals were very good and we had a creme brûlée for dessert which was ok. I love sitting outdoors

For the price you pay for a nice piece of meat you would think they would at least be able to cook it properly. We ordered a New York strip loin medium it showed up more like well and over salted And it was the same for the filet mignon. We were out for an anniversary dinner and we're extremely disappointed. If you are expecting a high priced meal at a terrible quality CHOP is a great choice.

Went to Chop before movie at Chinook. I ordered Filet steak, medium rare. When steak came it did not look like a filet and after a couple of bites I realized it was a sirloin. After talking to server and manager we decided there was not enough time for new steak to be prepared so I ate some of sirloin, veggie side, and some of xtra mushroom side ordered for steak. When bill arrived there was no adjustments other than $36 filet replaced with $24 sirloin. I asked for manager again but they sent server back with 50% discount on just the steak. Never did see manager again and I just paid the bill. I don't go out for dinner looking for free meals but I would expect not to have to pay for a meal I did not order and only ate part of.

It wasn't my first time at Chop, but food wasn't great this time. We had an onion soup. I wouldn't suggest to have it tried, as you would be disappointed with heavy amount of cheese and lack of specific taste that usually accompany onion soups. Our steaks were mediocre. Done to our wish (medium rare), but not juicy at all. Don't know if it was just a bad day, but believe that any restaurant of similar reputation as Chop would care more about its menu and dishes. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

The location was convenient, close to our theatre. The ambiance was fine, actually an improvement over the previous restaurant in that space. The Menu is limited, and heavy on meat and on the pricey side. A conscious choice, but narrowing the numbers of those who would enjoy it. The real disappointment was the drinks list. Overpriced, limited - not a single Italian wine for example - and no Strongbow Cider (after it was mentioned as available by the waiter). This is at 5:30 PM on Friday. If there was ever to be stock on hand, it should be there then. We found limited choices for ourselves on the menu and were stymied by nothing to our taste to drink. For the first time in ages we apologised and left the restaurant to go somewhere else.
