  • "I have not been to the Chop House 88 in a while and was pleasantly surprised by the fantastic new menu! Lots of new choices, better pricing and happy hour now starts an hour early at 4:00PM. With the new changes I think it will become another great place in Stuart. We had a light dinner but everything was fantastic, the smoked Cesar salad, crab corn chowder and the prime rib sandwich all absolutely delicious. Then we were treated to a chocolate molten lava cake--what can I say but yum--next time I will get a scoop of vanilla ice cream or raspberry sorbet to round it off! Already have plans to revisit later this month and next month!"

  • "The waiter ordered me the wrong steak. I asked him when he bright it if it was the 14 oz. prime chophouse strip he insisted it was. My wife ordered the prime 12oz. Tenderloin. Her steak was bigger than mine. When the bill comes it said the choice strip 10oz. Steak."

  • "except for the crab bisque which was really, really good, the lamb chops were less than mediocre. they were cooked to the "correct pink" but were disappointing in the taste which was "flat". Considering the price of your food and the mediocre taste, I won't return and won't give you a very good review. Sorry. Good luck. "

But this place turned out to be the right choice . Food was great the service was great ,being from NYC I was very happy with the wine list and prices of the wine and food .   • "Booked this reservation eight weeks ago to celebrate my dads 90th birthday. The table requested for 9 was not set up. Lance the GM told us the people sitting in the small dining room were finished and would be leaving in a few minutes. That never happened. They offered us complimentary drinks and then put them on the bill. One of my guests never got her dinner. The sever took an order for short ribs that they were out of. The waiter was obnoxious. The table we ended up sitting at backed up to the bussing station and was very noisy. Lance the GM was rude and not accepting responsibility for the screw up. I confirmed this reservation on 4/15 and we went over my all my special requests. NEVER AGAIN WILL I COME BACK! "

  • "It was darn good!We were greeted with smiles by the valet outside and again by two young, very smartly dressed young ladies as we opened the front door. The restaurant was spotless and the decor is attractive. Our waiter was a pleasant young man from Spain. We ordered prime steaks. They were delicious and prepared medium rare just as we asked. They're grilled over a combination of hardwoods which enhances the flavor and experience even more. The baked potato was crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, as it should be. The vegetables - brussel sprouts and creamed corn - were also quite tasty. I'm not used to having food this good in the Stuart area. The wine list could use some Burgundy or Bordeaux but otherwise it was a great dinner!"

  • "The Chop House 88 is a wonderful addition to the Stuart area. The shrimp cocktail was fantastic - 3 shrimp are more than enough. The double pork chops were the thickest I've seen while the short ribs was more than enough for one plus lunch the following day. The flatiron steak and filet were equally delicious. Each entree came with 2 out-of-the ordinary sides. Our party had a wide assortment from grilled onions or brussels sprouts, asparagus, sautéed spinach, and my favorite - grilled tomato halves with blue cheese topping."

  • "Without any doubt the Crab Bisque was outstanding, as was the Porterhouse for two. My only two complaints would be to have the server or Chef cut the steak from bone, and two plates set up with veggies as is done in Peter lugers in NY, not one large plate with everything and a smaller one. Real PITA to carve steak at a full table. Would have been a nicer experience to have more time between starters and main course, just finished the delightful Crab Bisque and the main course arrived much to soon."

  • "Jit is only a matter of time before Chop House 88 becomes one of Stuarts best. Steakhouses. Although only open three weeks, the food was excellent. However there is still a little work to be done on presentation. Little things lole no cherries in the Manhattans. A few orders were missed. Appetizers showed up separately. However, Mark and Dwayne resolved the issues immediately. The end result was an excellent meal. Can't wait to returns or another tende juicy Filet!"

  • "Wish I could give a better review but the low level of service ruined any chance of us coming back. The food is very good, although very expensive. A single 2 inch crab cake commands $13. The filet, truffle fries, & tomato with blue cheese was very good. For the prices they charge, one would expect much better service. It took an hour for our food to come out and our server never bothered to check in with us during this time. Go to Capital Grill instead where you can experience what good service at a steakhouse should be."

  • "I don't mind spending $$$$ for good food, nice atmosphere, exceptional service, etc. This steakhouse has a lot of improving to do if there is any chance of staying open longer than a year. My Filet Mignon & my husband's Ribeye were over cooked, dry and not tender at all. Our sides were under done as well. We had; raw scalloped potatoes, raw caramelized brussel sprouts, dry whipped potatoes and fire grilled Vidalia onions. The waiter, (definitely very new) was nice but certainly not prepared to explain menu options. We never heard the specials and he told me that Au Poivre was a pepper sauce (which is true) and added that if I did not like spicy green peppers I should not order it (not true.) I think I'll drive the distance to Ruth's Chris."

  • "I wanted to dine at Chop 88 to experience a good steak restaurant. I was very disappointed. Service was very slow, the food was terrible, and the ambiance is horrid. The steak I ordered Rare arrived well done. I sent it back and the second steak came Medium Rare. I tried to eat it and after 2 bites it was horrible. Not even Prime meat, when it was on the menu as Choice! This place advertised itself as a high end white linen table cloth steak restaurant,. The steaks are $40-$70. It is horrible! Do not waste your money!"

  • "We’re trying to forget our experience at Chop House 88 in Stuart. It is one of the most expensive local restaurants with mediocre food quality at best. We’ve had far better meals locally for substantially less. Only one steak was less than the $39.00 steak I ordered. Many were $69.00 and higher. The price would have been acceptable if the steak was. It was overdone, dry, not hot, and had no flavor. Someone next to us was also complaining about his steak not being cooked properly. I had three bites, asked the waiter to take it away, explained why, and was not offered a replacement or a credit. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. Honestly, we wouldn’t go back if they offered us a free meal."

  • "Top notch food with top notch service. Great bar area...everything was PERFECT....from the greeting, lighting, wait staff, etc...Just a fine restaurant. I had the tuna appetizer for my main meal. "Red Eye" tuna from Hawaii. Excellent. My husband had a steak that was prepared exactly to his liking. The restaurant was well managed! It will be around for a long time. We will definitely be back."

  • "Overall our experience was excellent. The General Manager was very friendly and kept an eye on all of the table for service. Our waiter was mediocre. He was pleasant but not very attentive. We had to have one of the beverage refilled by another table's waitress on several occasions. When I asked for another wine he never did bring it. The food was excellent - tasty and well cooked. I would definitely go back but I would request to sit in another wait staff's section."

  • "This is a new restaurant in Stuart. By far the best steak I have ever had and I go to all the upscale steak houses. Cesar salad again, awesome smoky dressing is just delicious! Staff is very gracious. can't wait to go back."
