Just terrible service. Ordered food to go as well and was told after an hour of waiting that the "food was thrown away" and there was no more pancake batter or mix to make more because that was thrown away as well

Pleasant surprise for an early dinner! The food was really good (we were 3 and each of us had something different) and the presentation was pleasant too. Specially noteworthy was the fried chicken appetizer and the velvet cake dessert. I am sure we will be back.

We were at Chocolat this past Sunday for a Birthday Brunch for my girlfriend and our group was very pleased with the food and service from our server Robert (who resembles Phillip Michael Thomas from "Miami Vice" lore). This was our 2nd time here and we will be back again and again! The red velvet pancakes and fried chicken is my new go-to-meal! The mimosas are delicious and your glass stays full. The music is a nice mix and old and new keeps the place in good spirits. Other dishes to try include crab cakes and grits and the steak and eggs.

Chocolat is a very nice restaurant, which I would like to consider a young atmosphere. Upon entering we were greeted and immediately took notice to the ambience and the setting of everything from bar lighting to seat placements. Great options on the menu. Not too many choices that it confuses you. Drinks were mellow and complimented the food. The salt for my dish was a bit on the high side but I need to go back and try other dishes to see if it was just that night or maybe it's the recipe used. Just be weary when choosing the outside seat because the neighborhood locals walk by and smoke fills the air.

I went to this restaurant on August 18th with my girlfriends. When we arrived the hostess was greeted us and sat us promptly. The waiter was kind and friendly and quite handsome, which was just s a plus to the experience. We did not have to wait long for our food once we ordered and the food was all quite tasty.

My first time at Chocolat was rather pleasant. I read a bunch of very mixed reviews on Yelp, so was a bit apprehensive. However, I am one to always try things for myself and I am glad I did. The food was good; nothing spectacular. The waitress was very polite and sweet. Overall, a solid experience.

Went there on an early evening so I couldn't say what it is like later on. The food service was good and the ambiance was nice. Everyone was surprisingly attractive. The only thing was that we had to make an effort to get the attention of the waitress more than a few times, but overall, I would go again.

seated close to the bar but then I asked to be moved as there was an odor of garbage in that area. A waiter moved us but then the hostess came by & asked us to move, as that table was reserved, there were so many other open tables. Asked to be moved to a particular table told no they were reserved. Was at spot for almost 2 hours no other patrons showed up! Hence plenty of empty reserved tables. Ordered drinks n app, got app b4 drink, n half finished app b4 drink got to table. Again empty restaurant. Waiter brought out entree and took it to wrong table. Saw food scraps on fl under tables..ugggh, bathrooms not that clean n had urine smell! Ordered RV cake 10 min later..oh we're out of that! Drink was great n food also tasted good tho!

Food was ok. Only ordered entrees about 5 minutes after sitting down but food took nearly 1 hour to come. Our waitress checked on us constantly and was always apologizing for the wait. Service was fine but clearly the kitchen was either understaffed out not equipped to make more than a few items at a time.

Usually we have a very good time at this restaurant but this particular night changed. The waiter forgot to get our drinks. After a half hour, I had to remind him we were still there. He stated he thought someone else was helping us. After waiting another half hour, I asked him to ask us about our entrees, in which he did. After our dinner was served he came by and asked if he could do another for us, I asked for the manager! She came over discussed our issue and told us she would do whatever she could to have us leave happy and return!! And she did..... We received a free drink, dessert and a discount on our meals! It was one experience that I wish to never happen again. I would definitely return after this one more time!!

My family was visiting from out of town and I decided to take them to Chocolat for brunch. The wait time was very unreasonable, as we waited a hour. After awhile, drinking mimosas was getting old. We were not the only table waiting. I even saw a man pull food out of his bag to eat becuase the wait time was so long. The waitress did her best to keep us from getting irritated. We even asked for bread or crackers to eat and was told that would take time as the chef had to warm the bread! I was getting very uncomfortable as I am pregnant. The only reason why we did not leave is because we had already waited so long. The manager did agree to knock $15 off our tab, but I don't think I will return, that is if I am very hungry.

50 minutes before our appetizers came out. Dead flies on the window sill..the waitress eventually came and cleaned it up. only one person in our party ordered an entree.she really enjoyed it. The shrimp empanadas were delicious but the calamari and chicken were bland. The drinks were pricy but good. Service was ridiculously slow. The manager was having a staff meeting and yelling at the staff in east shot. I've been here for brunch once &it was good but there's better places. Not horrible but I would not go back.

When I booked my reservation through Open Table, I requested a quiet romantic table. Well that did not happen. The service is VERY slow and we were there on a Sunday evening at 6pm, I don't think that there were even 25 people dining at that time. The server kept coming back and apologizing that the food was taking so long. The tables are black painted wood and our table was very sticky, even after being wiped again. We were not even offered another table. ,The water glasses were dirty. Take your chances!

I had such a wonderful time with my friends and family at Chocolat. We sat in semi private area. This area has a great view of outside and a helpful view of the front entrance (...so I can see my guests arrive). Our waitress, Ebony "the cancer"(her sign), was wonderful! She was very warm and comical! She earned every penny of her tip, and I gave her additional cash!! The mimosas were good...I like Veuve Clicquot, it was not Veuve Clicquot...but it was worth its unlimitedness for $12.00! Red velvet pancakes...AWESOME There fish croquettes...ok, flavorful, but something was missing...it needed a sauce. Shrimp and cheese grits...shrimp good, the grits a bit milky (but if you like that then hey!)...

We had a good time at Chocolat. The lobser mac and cheese appetizer was very good with hunks of lobster. The Shrimp quesadillas were just ok, as you could barely find the shrimp. While the fried chicken was good, it was the smallest bird I have ever eaten. The drumstick looked like the 3rd joint on a wing. My sister had the short ribs, which were very tender, but their was only one piece. My husband had the jerk chicken which was indeed a decent portion, although the pieces were still small, just not as small as the fried chicken. The drinks were good. So while the food was good, the portion sizes were ok, but small for the cost. All in all good food, just not what I would expect in quantity for the prices they charge.

Considering we got caught in the rain, we were welcomed with open arms. Having a secluded table , we still felt part of the ambiance with privacy. Our waiter went over each and every menu item with us which helped the decision making and even put in our meal choices before taking our drink orders. This made everything go very smoothly and quickly. Our drinks warmed us as well as the service with a smile, chocolate martinis, and decadent chocolate dessert were mouth-watering. All-in-all a wonderful experience and the chocolate didn't hurt either. Thank-you for making our evening " to die for!"

I am disappointed in this restaurant because I have been there several times and this time we had a party of 5 so they sat us outside. They turned the tables sideways and because we were on an uneven sidewalk our drinks kept sliding off the table. We requested to be moved but they could not accommodate us. All we got was an apology and had to deal with the uncomfortable situation. The least they could've done is taken 10% off the bill or done something to show good customer service. We were highly disappointed and probably will not return. It's sad because we like supporting Harlem businesses.
