Diner Reviews
  • "I love the open, bright atmosphere and the service is always excellent. It has everything you could want from private rooms for large parties to a fondue room, a great comfortable large bar area, great outdoor area, underground parking and always great service. I eat at this restaurant with friends and we use it quite often for company dinners with clients ."

  • "Just got lucky, I guess. Took a chance on the Chinook after seeing the out-of-the-ordinary items on their online menu. Didn't even matter, as their specials of the day were even MORE interesting. Our waitress Yth (oot) was extremely personable and made for an entirely enjoyable experience. Dining room was upscale, yet simple, as is Danish décor. When we return to Denver, we will definitely return to Chinook Tavern."

  • "We've always had great food here. Incredible rooms with tables NOT on top of each other."

  • "The food was great, with a great selection of Germain fare. Everyone in the group commented on how good the food was, and how glad they were that I chose this resturaunt as they had never been. Several that were local comented they would be coming back with their spouses/significant others."

  • "Great ambiance and décor with excellent service - prompt and very courteous and outgoing. Jaegerschnitzel entre somewhat flavorless, more like mushroom soup versus a real "hunter sauce." We lived in Germany 6 years so know what it should taste like. This entre wasn't very close. Mixed vegetables were "soggy." Bratkottefel over cooked, crunchy and dry. Florentine salad great and soup (split pea) pretty good."

  • "have been to Chinook Taven 5-6 times before and always had great service and food. This time was the opposite. We were there after normal luch time, so only 2 other tables were occupied. Waitress and kitchen were very slow, then 2 out of 5 orders were incorrect. barely got an apology from the waitres"

  • "We gather here every three months with a group of gals on Tuesdays. The food is always delicious and the service impeccable. I think this restaurant has trained it's servers to accommodate their clients the way people which to be treated when dining out. High fives to the staff! I like it when a variety of servers available bring all the food out at once when you have a large group. It's just nice not to have to wait over a hot plate of food until (finally!) the last guest is served. We have gathered at a variety of Littleton restaurants over the years; this one is a keeper."

  • "Took my wife for her birthday. The food, cocktails and service were amazing as always! This is a gem of a restaurant located in the heart of the DTC. We always enjoy the food or just stopping for a cocktail in the beautiful bar. This is a must visit if you haven't tried the Chinook Tavern."

  • "I met the Executive Chef at my place of employment. Noticing that he had a German accent, we struck up a conversation about my 7 yrs of living in Germany. He gave me his business card and that's how we came across the Chinook. Ambience is beautiful and the staff is well trained and very professional. The bar was hopping was hopping when arrived and the Paulaner beer selection is a pallet lovers drinking dream. Food couldn't be beat. My husband and I had the jaeger schnitzel and Wiener schnitzel. Simply mouth watering. Dessert was rotegruetze and apfel strudel. Brought back wonderful memories!"

  • "This was me and my wife's first time here. We use 5280 week as an opportunity to tr th new restaurants. This was a fabulous choice that we will come to again.Everything we had as delicious from the fried brie to the shrimp cakes for apps. For dinner I had the steak that was amazing wirh grilled veggies and potatoes and my wife had the salmon in a delicious sauce with root veggies. Our waitress was very attentive and personable. She told us of outside entertainment in the spring. We will definately come back here to explore thwir menu more."

  • "We went here for restaurant week and had a 9:30PM reservation. They were very welcoming and did not make us feel rushed at all. Ali was our server and he was knowledgable about their gluten free offerings. The salad was very good. My father said despite the extremely serving, the crab cakes were fabulous! He also said that the bread was pretty hard and cold, little disappointing. The steak was fine. for my dessert I got the chocolate pudding and sadly when it came out it had a cookie on it -not gluten free. Ali quickly fixed that. He was so great to us! He even took my coffee off of the bill because of that little mix-up. I would definitely consider coming back. Great location - right off the light rail, I'd like to try their coffee bar."

  • "When we arrived hostesses was rude and unorganized. We were seated and it took about 15 min to get water and beer menu. Took about anther 10 to order drinks and get bread that was cold and hard. Finally after about 40 min order dinner. Food was ok."

  • "Atmosphere was great! Service was very good and food was good. 3 couples that meet once a year for restaurant week had a great experience! I enjoyed the experience so much I am bringing another group here the same week!,,"

  • "Good restaurant and friendly service, but the service is very slow. It is almost impossible to get in an out if you only have an hour for lunch."

  • "The choices and food for Denver Restaurant week were terrific, and prompted us to try things on their menu we hadn't enjoyed before. The apple streudel is ridiculous; we were glad to have our own pieces so we didn't have to share!"

  • "We came for 5280 week. The food was very good (and has been when we have visited). Yet, the servers and owners seemed desperate for business. Countless times, they asked for us to come back "many many times over and over". The servers said "the owners really want you to return". They asked for feedback numerous times, and gave us gift certificates to return at a later time. It just told me "we really need customers". Once is okay, even twice, but this happened well over 5 times. Overall, it was good food- very tasty. The Brie appetizer was excellent, and the flat iron steak was quite tasty and well flavored, too! The ambiance in the restaurant is VERY cool, especially in the bar."

  • "Been here a dozen times too ! Mother's Day food came out slow but was worth the wait, and it wasn't That bad if a wait. Happy hour is awesome always. I've gotten emails about live music on some eves but can never stay out Late enough to see. Friday lunch was busy, but loved how the lady owner got everything in check So quickly !!"

  • "Food was excellent! The very slow service was a strong negative! It took 20 minutes to just get our drink order and I can't imagine how long it would have been had they been really busy! Need to step up the service as we could see the tables around us frustrated with this as well!"

  • "Food looks and tastes great but preparation seems excessively slow. In defense was Valentine's Day and busy. Service staff is very pleasant and helpful but really need some work on the details. Brought desert, no utensils, picked up napkin before dinner over, didn't replace it. Had to asked for additional bread, water. Ambiance is nice unfortunately was seated next to table of very loud women who made normal conversation almost impossible for the rest of the guests. Decor is nice but no soft surfaces to absorb the noise. Second visit and not sure if I will go back, perhaps for lunch. Too expensive to have such mediocre attention to detail."

  • "We were there celebrating my husband's birthday, we had a party of nine and the staff was very attentive, sociable, very accommodating to our needs. We also had one guest with very restrictive diet allergies, & the staff listened & ensured communication of her diet needs! The food was fantastic! The overall experience was wonderful :)"

  • "We had a very simple but excellent dinner: tenderloin with asparagus and mushroom ravioli. Both done perfectly, portions were correct (not tiny...) service excellent. Wine list extensive and broad in price. They have a nice tray of pastries also. We'll be back."

  • "Our meal on Saturday evening was a totally pleasant experience. The restaurant is large with areas that accommodate diverse groups. We were around the corner from the bar, so got a view of the crowd, but the noise was distant. Our waiter was very enthusiastic and his recommendations were right-on. The only downside was at about 1 AM the following morning, I realized that I had been served caffeinated coffee instead of decaf."

  • "The only thing nice I can say about our Saturday dinner was the facilities are very nice. The waiter recommended the NY Strip and it was the worse piece of meat I have ever had. Perhaps the rest of the menu was better but I will never know. A good third of the steak was fat, not marbling, but just large sections of fat. I perhaps would gone back if they would have credited the steak, I felt ripped off."

  • "Our wait person was un-attentive and not friendly. Constantly looking for her to refill water, diet coke, - did not look us in the eye and did not smile."

  • "Was there for a business lunch on 1/29/13. Food was great with a nice selection that worked for the entire group. To bad we could not get enough menus for the group to start, could not get drink glasses refilled and the salt and pepper we requested arrived after everyone had finished their main course."
    Dined on 1/29/2014
  • "One member of the party found that her sides were quite salty; also while server was very pleasant, there was considerable wait at times for things to arrive, e.g., dessert ordered, but did not arrive as expected with coffee - server eventually noted that no dessert had been delivered and said she would work on getting someone to deliver it to table."

  • "We arrived early on a Wednesday and had the place to ourselves. We were a little too early as our wait for service to begin was a little longer than I would have liked. We received the wonderful warm rolls and butter and ordered. My Dad's Jaegerschnitzel was perfection, my Wienerschnitzel was also good with great roasted vegetables. Unfortunately, I thought the side portions were a little on the stingy side. We ended up with a chocolate pot de creme to share. All in all a delicious lunch with good service."

  • "I went there for a business lunch on 1/17 and was able to confirm what I thought I already knew based upon two prior dinner outings: The food is very very average at best. I'm not going back."

  • "Our salads were brought to the table before our appetizer which wasn’t enthusing. I ordered the New York steak. When I requested a steak knife to eat a 12oz steak, Catherine indicated it’s “European style” and couldn’t accommodate me except with the standard butter knife already at the table. Never once did a manager come by to ask how the meal was for us. Chilli’s did this 3 times while I was eating lunch earlier today. Save yourself some time and spend a few more dollars and go to Del Frisco’s or Shanahan’s where they value and respect their customers. You could also go to Village Tavern in Broomfield, Colorado for half the price and receive exponential quality per dollar compared with the dollar spent at this place."

  • "Chinook offers fabulous, creative, European-inspired fare. Our luncheon was bathed in natural sunlight through the abundant glass, and a beautiful modern and artistic decor. The dining areas are offer visually elegant, comfortable, and private settings in which to conduct business, celebrate family, and re-connect with friends."

  • "Something happened to the service and the food. I took my husband here to show off what used to be a great restaurant. Our waiter took our drink order, we received our drinks. Then he came back to take our drink order again, even though our drinks were clearly in front of us. It took 45 minutes to get a cup of soup. My husband's meal came. By the time my meal came, my lunch hour was over and I had to get it boxed to go. It was the wrong order, but I didn't have any more time left to make a request for them to fix it. All in all I paid $50 for a lunch that was late, that I ended up having to reheat, the order was wrong. At least the ambiance and my date were good."

  • "We always enjoy going to Chinook. Convenient parking. Light, airy, and modern motif. Everyone liked what they ordered. We went for a late lunch, so it was quiet and we had an enjoyable conversation among 5 people."

  • "We found out about Chinook Tavern on Christmas Day. Did not realize how busy they would be, so we did not make reservations. The only table that they had (all others had reservations) so we gladly took a table in the bar. Beautiful table... Our experience was wonderful, food outstanding... My mother was still in town so we decided to come back two days later, with a reservation this time... Our experience was the same, OUTSTANDING... I would recommend this fabulous restaurant to anyone and everyone...."

  • "This was our third visit to Chinook since in their new location, and probably our last. The demeanor of hostess and staff suggested it is not a very pleasant place to work at. We used to enjoy the more welcoming (by that I don't mean the forced repetition of phrases learned in some odd training course..."perfect," "wonderful," without any real connection to the actual moment) feel to the restaurant when located in Cherry Creek. On entry we felt we were an imposition to the hostess. We had reservations, were well dressed and had no yapping dogs at our side. Just too cold, sterile, and unfriendly feel to the place. The lamp shank was decent."

  • "The food was to die for, our server Tina went above and beyond and she was very personable. The only snag was we got a little attitude from one staff member when we requested to move to the raclette/fondue room because we hasn't made reservations for that specific room, even though the room was practically empty!"

  • "Who would expect to find a unique restaurant like Chinook Tavern in an office park south of Denver? As a New Yorker, I am accustomed to having a variety of fine restaurants with unusual offerings. So when I took some business associates to lunch at Chinook Tavern, I wasn't expecting much. Big surprise! The fusion German - Austrian/Mexican/Cajun influenced menu is one I have never encountered. I had the pork Wiener Schnitzel and it was absolutely delicious: crisp yet moist, and very flavorful. One of my companions had a salad dressed with shrimp that looked (and, she said, tasted) wonderful. My other companion gobbled down a specially spiced burger of the day. With comfortable seating and attentive service, highly recommended."
