A word from Chino Chinatown at Trinity Groves
Chino Chinatown menu is the transformation of traditional Asian dishes with a Latin American twist. The spirits menu is motivated by the new cocktail movement and classic hand-crafted drinks.

The cuisine is inspired by Chinese immigrants that came to South America from the southern province of Guangdong and Macau in the late 19th century. Due to lack of Asian ingredients, the Chinese adapted their cuisine with items available in the area creating unique blends of Chinese cooking with Latin ingredients. They established “barrio Chinos” which translates to “Chinatown” in Latin American cities. Chino will transport people to this era of mystery and adventure.

Sitting outside eating food and sipping on drinks at Chino Chinatown is a very nice way to spend an evening. Food was just ok (the duck fried rice, however, is quite good) but the ambience makes up for it.

This was first time for dinner here and it was very good but candied peanuts were left out of my Drunken Noodles and I had terrible acid reflux afterwards and all during the night...like it might have had MSG in it or overly flavored with garlic. Won't order it again. My fiancé had the Duck Fat Fried Rice and it was very good...probably order that the next time.

My friends and I couldn't decide on where to go in Trinity Groves, we decided on Chino, and it was a great choice! The service was just great, the waiter really knew the menu and recommended very good dishes. I do recommend their Sangria! The outdoor seating is great especially now with the great weather we've been having! Nicely lit patio seating!

We dined at Chino Chinatown on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was not too busy or noisy. There were 7 of us and we sat at a round table and enjoyed the conversation across the table. One of our diners was in a wheelchair and had no problem getting in the restaurant or rolling up to the table. The food was delicious. We loved the Drunken Noodles and the special of the night Sea Bass. Highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

We've been eating here since opening day and the food and service continue to be great and are increasingly fine tuned. Phil guides and challenges in a way that has produced great results. Adrian and Uno are working hard to be the best they can be and it shows! If it's your first visit, let your server guide you through the popular choices. Unique, creative and very tasty menu. Keep up the good work guys!!

The food was good and fresh. The presentation was very good. The server was great. I was with a group of 3. I had the beaf taco plate. I would had liked a little more flavor from the beef. Our table shared the edamame. It was very good. Enjoyed the experience. Not overly crowded for lunch. A little pricy.

The concept of chinese food with latin infusion is unique and great, however, the execution was not well done. Edamame was great; ceviche was disappointing; duck fat fried rice and chicken lollipops were fair to disappointing, depending on whether you ask my girlfriend or me. Service was just okay. The mural was really nice. Other restaurants in the area offer a better dining experience.

I see where they're trying to go with this concept, and I want to be supportive of it. I'm just not sure they know what THEY want to be. The ambiance was fine, although the lights were too bright and that killed the mood a little. For the food, we found it difficult to find things we liked on the menu, and that's always frustrating. It is very difficult to tell which plates have large portions and which have small ones -- it would be good if they came up with a menu device to clarify that. Their concept is family servings, so you can share big plates. That's cool, but on the other hand each plate is so huge that it limits the opportunity to order various things, to try different things. Wait staff was too goth. That was a turnoff.

I am so disappointed with Chino Chinatown. The food was, at best, uninspired. At worst it was a mediocre ripoff. We tried the steamed buns, Duck Fat Fried Rice, and the beef short ribs. The buns were REALLY a greasy hunk of pulled pork in a dry, stale bun with random pickled veggies and cilantro. The pork was tasty, but that was all that we tasted. The (in)famous Duck Fat Fried Rice was really wet and mushy. The short ribs were two moderate sized short ribs bookending a pile of cabbage and assorted veggies. The rib my wife had was dry and, subsequently, chewy. Mine was more juicy and tender but both were average in terms of flavor. I was really expecting more from this place. My recommendation is to pass.

Hosted a birthday party of 8 here for my partner and we all enjoyed the food but the service was absolutely horrible. We we commented on the seriously undercooked chicken - the manager told us it was "supposed to be that way". We waited 30 plus minutes for drink refills and finally went and found our own water pitchers. Asked how our dining experience was, we were honest with the manager and we told "it was hectic tonight". No apologies, no try us again, nothing. Great concept, very good food - but would not return due to service and management issues.

This was my 4th visit to the fabulous Chino Chinatown, and it continued to impress. We expanded a bit from our previous standbys, and found some new favorites. Not to miss: Elotes - Order these, then tell your friends that they contain meat, nuts, strontium -- whatever it takes to get them to yourself Duck Fat Fried Rice with Duck Breast - Before the breast was added, this was great. Now it's ludicrously good. However, the cast iron dish means that stealing it from the table next to you will result in severe burns... and a nice snack in the ambulance. The Duck Fat Fries are great, too Drunken Noodles - One of my favorite dishes, though I prefer the shrimp to the ribs. Though either is spectacular Piña Colada Upside Down Cake - Love it!

We enjoyed our dinner at Chino Chinatown Saturday night. It was fun to share family style and explore the fusion of Asian and Latin flavors that were blended so well. I ordered the Snake Charmer which was refreshing on a warm August night. My friends ordered the Sangria that they all enjoyed. We began by sharing the guacamole and wonton appetizer. Then we progressed to the duck fat fried rice, chicken lollipops and the short ribs. All were delish. We finished by ordering both the pineapple upside down cake and the chocolate molten dessert. Both were excellent however the chocolate cake with pecans and coconut ice cream was the favorite of the two! We enjoyed our dinner, the fun atmosphere, décor and our waitress did a great job!

Duck fat fried rice with duck breast and Korean short rib fajitas for the main course. Yummo! The Mexican chocolate cake was good but not quite up to the rest of the food. Thursday night before 4th of July. They are moderately busy, but acted like they were slammed. The food is great and for a tapas style menu, you get nice portions. However, once your food comes out, you are attacked by flies.... and we were at a corner booth in the back. The service was OK. We were missing utensils throughout the meal service & requests for some lemon & spoons took a long time.

I would definitely go back there but with a slightly different game plan. I wanted to take my time and enjoy the food and company but the food just came out WAY too quickly. I probably shouldn't complain about how fast the food comes out but the appetizers and our entrees came out all at once and we had to stuff ourselves quickly so that the cold food doesn't get warm and hot food doesn't get cold. Felt like the kitchen and waiter could've put in the order a little differently so that we could enjoy the food at a slightly slower pace. The only complaint.

The food and ambience was excellent. We had a group of 5 and loved everything that we had. The chicken lollipops were amazing. Short Rib Drunken Noodles and Ahi Tuna Nachos were great as well. The experience was almost ruined by the swarm of flies that we were constantly swatting away. We were sitting inside so I was a bit surprised that they were such a problem. Apparently this has been an on-going problem due to the Trinity River location. Our waiter said that the flies go away after about 8:00pm. I hope it is true because I would love to go back if I knew the flies would not be there.
