China Poblano - The Cosmopolitan of Las VegasA must when in Las VegasWe have been to China Poblano to eat four out of the four times we've visited Las Vegas in the last year and a half. The food is always consistently great, the cocktails are inventive and atmosphere lively. We have come with large business groups, as a couple and with our 2 small children. Our children 6 & 9 look forward to their visit here and always eat all their food which is not very common for our picky eaters.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways terrific!Amazing fusion restaurant. Be sure to ask for waiter recommendations- they are always spot on.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and DifferentA good tapas restaurant with lots of interesting and different foods to choose from.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! It was our last night in Vegas and we were not disappointed. Attentive and friendly waitstaff, awesome food. It was fun place to go with a group of people since most everything is made to share.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Vegas mealWas seriously impressed by China Poblano - we had an amazing experience. Our waiter Miller was the best we've had by far. Great environment with delicious food.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AM2DineForI was at China Poblano for an office dinner and found the place a little too loud to have a conversation at our table. The menu had a good food selection and the diverse mix of flavors in the various small plates we chose worked very well with each other. They can also accommodate gluten-free and lactose-free diners. One downside, I've had the Singapore Sling at the Raffles in Singapore and think China Poblano's version was much sweeter and did not add anything special to my experience.
Overall: good food, reasonable prices, great service.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is amazingI am a local and every time a friend comes to visit we go to China Poblano!
Food is outstanding and never disappoints.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRepeat customerI stay at the Cosmo when in Vegas and China Poblano is always a stop for me. Great food and the service is wonderful.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!!!I'm a big fan of Mexican food!! But this place took my taste buds to a whole new level!!! Such a clean fresh taste! Inward blown away! Although the portions are much smaller I didn't care I just ordered more :) great place great servers ! Very friendly and clean environment!! Will see you guys again!!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is surprisingly delicious,Food is surprisingly delicious, flavors work well and every dish was raved over.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food & ServiceThe menu has a great variety and everything tasted great. Lots of flavor. Mango Sticky Rice for dessert was amazing. The best service I have ever experienced at any restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMordered a ceviche and a taco.ordered a ceviche and a taco. best ceviche i've EVER had. had these roasted seeds that added an amazing crunchy texture to every bite!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMexceeded all expectationsamazing food. great place to share small plates. You know if a chef can make beef tendon taste good they must be doing something right. I had the most beautiful Mexican gin and tonic that tasted even better than it looked. Only less than perfect aspect is the seats have no backs. Not super comfortable but food and drink lets you forget about that!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, a bit loudEclectic mix of China and Mexico, surprisingly good. All the dishes were excellent. Servings are small, so in a group best to try multiple items and share !5/7/2013 12:00:00 AM. Without looking at the menu. Without looking at the menu again, I can't remember exactly what we ordered but the carnitas taco was excellent. I also had a fish taco that didn't wow me but it was good. The Chips with the anise salt and the salt air margarita were also very good. The only item I was disappointed in was the Hot and Sour soup. In my opinion, it was to thick, rich, heavy. In fact, I'm going to make some this week using my good old recipe just to taste the difference. Our server was top notch. I'ts a shame I can't remember his name to hive him kudos.
All over , it was a good experience and I like the idea that I read about it and got to go. I would not have known about it if I hadn't read about it in a magazine.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique gem!Read about China Poblano in Bon Appetit and am so glad I took their advice. Loved the Singapore Sling and all five Chinese & Mexican dishes my group shared. We returned a second night for more unique cocktails, including tequila with green tea and another with avocado. What a gem!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFun restaurant. Right in theFun restaurant. Right in the middle of all the buzz at Cosmopolitan, since it's right by the Marquee nightclub. Great casual dining. Great food.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great concept thisWhat a great concept this place is, we had a lot of fun trying to balance our meal between Mexican and Chinese items and loved everything including the fantastic cocktails. So very glad friends recommend this place for our trip to Vegas4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique, casual, reasonably pricedStarted off with the salty foam margarita which is so yummy! The shrimp with black garlic was delish next to the 20 veg fried rice. And, the mango sticky rice was a great way to end the meal. So unique. Casual and reasonably priced. Would go again!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing time at the China Poblano! It was AMAZING. The food is great and it was FUN. The staff is amazing and accommodating. Everyone was nice and our waitress was a sweetheart. Try the duck tongue tacos - they are hard to beat! This place had us wishing we had all of our meals here!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZINGThis place was amazing!! Considering the cost versus flavor and portion size, perhaps one of the best dining deals in Las Vegas. Think of it as dim sum, little plates scattered around the table for tastes of many items, most of which were extraordinary. It will be a regular visit for us while in Sin City!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMBest meal we had in Vegas!Best meal we had in Vegas! Brussels sprouts, steamed buns, hearts of palm salad and blood orange margaritas were table favorites. We ordered 2-3 plates per person and shared everything. The server made excellent recommendations and really knew the menu. I was underwhelmed at every other restaurant during the trip - but china poblano was outstanding!4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWARNING -- for some of theWARNING -- for some of the best food in Vegas, you must suffer! In the land of overstuffed upholstery and red velvet, you must sit on a bench that seems to be straight from a waterboarding session to eat some of the best food in Vegas. IF you have one of the great rooms at the Cosmopolitan, then take advantage of the carry out and skip the bench. But if you have had a long day working your booth, standing around at the "vendor pavilion" you might want to try another night. Highlights for me: Mojo Shrimp, Guac, the noodle bowls4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMSooo delicious! I was withSooo delicious! I was with a group of 7 girls and we ordered a ton of dishes to share. Everything was amazing. I especially loved the lamb dumplings! I HIGHLY recommend... reasonably priced too!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI ate here twice in March-AprilI ate here twice in March-April 2013 and sat at the bar. Staff members were friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about vegan options. The restaurant is classy, cozy, and in a nice convenient location. I love the combination of Chinese and Mexican cuisines. Great food, lots of tequila options but I skipped that this time. Reservations are easy to set up and can help ensure you'll eat before or after a show. A vegan chips-and-salsa option would be a welcome addition to the menu (the oil for making the chips is also used for preparing animal ingredients, I was told).3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food. Good fun for ourGreat food. Good fun for our family. Just wish the tacos were easier to share.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMVery creative hybrid of food.Very creative hybrid of food. I had the duck tongue tacos which I would eat by the bucket full.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food with small portionsGood food with small portions so you can try different things. Service is friendly but slow, and it is very loud in the dining room. Some of the menu items are quite exotic.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely a top notch experience,Absolutely a top notch experience, wonderful food, service, staff was very knowledgeable.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMChina Poblano is run how aChina Poblano is run how a restaurant should be run. Not only is the food delicious, the service is superb and the facility is extremely clean. I did not even see a single water spot on any of our dinner ware. Been there three times and counting on this trip and we have gone to other places as well but keep comparing everything to China Poblano.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Flavor Mash-Up, Off the StripI know, I know: Chinese food meets Mexican food, how can that possibly work? Seems like a Las Vegas magic show trick gone horribly wrong. But it works. And because this restaurant is tucked inside the shopping mall of the Cosmopolitan, it was also very quiet, calm, and not crowded at all (I also ate between peak lunch and dinner service times - perfect!). The combinations of flavors, textures, spices, and colors all worked well and I was happily surprised that I took a risk. I could have eaten a lot more of the small-to-medium-sized plates, so be careful if you are on a budget because this is not a buffet and the bill can add up quickly. But my stomach said, "Thank you, it was worth it."3/6/2013 12:00:00 AM
