The service and ambience were perfect and the locally sourced food was delicious. Jason did an excellent job in the kitchen and James, who is obviously an experience sommelier, provided the perfect combination of friendliness and knowledge in the dining room. In any case, we enjoyed Happy Hour wine and apps at the bar prior to dinner. The meatballs and truffle chips were outstanding. For dinner, we shared a Caesar salad (different presentation and very good), my wife had the lamb, and I had the New York Steak. Both prepared very well.
Although, they did not have a bottle of wine I requested from their wine list, James, our host and server recommended a comparably priced bottle that was excellent. Dessert was just ok.
This continues to be a great (and classy) neighborhood restaurant. Chef Jason prepares each item on the limited menu very well. Under Jason, the current proprietor, it continues to evolve ever upward in quality and refinement. We went on a Tuesday night with a reservation, but I guess it was unusually busy night because there was only 1 server, which definitley made the service suffer. We had to wait 10 minutes from the time we sat down to get drinks and then when the server did help us he seemed rushed and stressed, this is defintely not the service I would expect for the prices they charge for food. Don't waste your time looking at the menu. Just do the Chef's Tasting with the wife paring. They ask you what you can't have and then they choose your meal and pare it with a wine that complements the dish. It is amazing.
