  • "Chimayo is one of the best restaurants in the Old Town part of Park City. Great ambiance and amazing food. My one reservation is we were very rushed with our meal. The entrees came out before we were finished with our appetizers. Perhaps it was because we have kids; however, we noted other people also appeared to be getting pushed out quickly too. Prices are high here so this is not what I expected. Hopefully this is food for thought (pun intended) for the restaurant's management."

  • "So many great restaurants to choose from in Park City but Chimayo is of the top 5. And, they break from the "mountain gourmet" theme with gourmet Mexican. For starters the Chili Relleno stuffed with goat cheese and mozzarella was perfect with a crunchy crust and spectacular sauce accompanied by a jicama salad-- and a reasonable portion for an appetizer so you could finish your meal. Another in our party raved about the Tortilla Soup-- think depth of lobster bisque. The elk was very simple but with the french influenced sauce was very elegant. The wine list had a ton of Spanish wines and the sommelier was knowledgeable and friendly sharing detail on the growing regions for the wines we looked at. Tried sipping Tequila for desert- yum."

  • "We love dining at Chimayo and have for 4 years. We have never had a bad or questionable meal here. The chef is outstanding and the service is always beyond amazing. Having just become permanent residents of Park City, Chimayo will be on our regular places to dine. The scallops are to die for; the in-season halibut is a dish you won't be able to get enough of. Chimayo is also a great place to bring customers or host business dinners. We have done both and have received great comments from our attendees. If you are in the Park City area; don't miss this wonderful place."

My personal favorites are the scallops, crown spare ribs, elk, and bison entrees. Consistently good food and service based on many, many visits."

  • "Have been going to Chimayo for 9 years. Every time we leave we swear we're not going back. This time our table of four was sandwiched between a table of 12 and a table of 14. Our order was taken right away by a lovely but harried young woman. 90 minutes later after several pleas to the waitress and then to the manager, our food was still not there. Apparently the order was misplaced in the kitchen due to the never ending requests for more drinks, chips, etc from the large tables surrounding us. We ended up walking out after the manager explained the problem."

  • "The food was tasty and interesting. The noise level was very high so it was difficult to have a conversation or to hear the wait staff. It was also a very expensive restaurant and although the food was delicious and interesting I do not think it was worth the price."

  • "We had dinner on a Thursday night. Glad I made reservations ---- the place was very crowded. This is our second time at Chimayo and we were not disappointed. The food is just great -- unique flare to a southwest menu. Our waiter was very attentive (considering the crowd). We did wait a little longer time for the main course but the waiter did explain it was due to the busy evening. The food was worth the wait ---- the elk and short ribs were especially delicious. Definitely would recommend this restaurant when visiting Park City."

  • "We ordered a little bit of everything, and as usual, Chimayo did not disappoint. While it is a little pricey, its great for a special occasion and for groups. I thought the queso fundido could have been better (had a heavy wine/fondue flavor to it), and i'd say the caesar salad isn't worth it, but the chile relleno appetizer was excellent. My boyfriend had the sparerib entree, which is big enough for two to split, and I shared the trout enchiladas with a friend, and that was excellent as well. My advice to future diners would be to order a few apps or soups and share an entree. Whenever we go, we end up filling up on the bread they serve, because its amazing, so keep that in mind when you order your entrees."

  • "Great food and service quite strong. Food portions enormous including the kids menu options. My only complaint we were in a table that really held two but we were three. For the person on the inside there was no space or leg room. The trout fajitas were outstanding. The three soup trio was nice. Kids chicken enchilada was tasty. Very pricey but food was exceptional. The service at out table was perfect."

  • "We first came to Park City in 2004, and our hotel gave us a certificate to try Chimayo. We LOVED it, but bringing a bunch of teenagers was never in the cards for us when we returned to Main Street year after year. This year, we had a foursome, everyone 21 and over, so we decided to revisit Chimayo. What a highlight Every dish was delish, from the soup and appetizer to the main course of short ribs and wine. Beet Salad - perfecto! Avocado Salad - amazing! Chicken soup - warm and wonderful. The service was very attentive, even though we were right by the front door with lines of hopefuls trying to get a table, we enjoyed the whole thing."

  • "The short ribs, scallops and elk main courses were divine! The kids meals were great, although extremely pricey at $10 each, and very accommodating for picky little eaters. The monkfish was horrendous, and unfortunately two guests in our party ordered this dish; they didn't even eat half of it, they were so disappointed. Our service was very slow after the appetizers arrived. We kept getting polite reports from the servers and manager that our dishes were coming, but it was close to an hour after we ordered when we received our entrees; our reservation was at 6 on a Saturday evening. Overall, we would come again because the dishes were really good and the margaritas were great, we just won't be ordering the monkfish."

  • "I'd heard great things about this restaurant. The ambiance is very European, dark with tables packed in tight. I had high hopes my experience would match the great décor. Unfortunately it did not. My party of 3 was crammed into a space that was too small for even the two people it's designed to seat. I was in the restroom when they brought out our main course. For a restaurant of this supposed caliber, you'd think they would have kept the food under the lights until I returned. The food was average. It's hard to tell what it's supposed to be, Mexican, Mediterranean, European? I couldn't get out of the restaurant fast enough. It certainly wasn't worth what they charged."

  • "We have eaten at Chimayo many times on our trips to ski in Park City, however this time a number of issues made our visit disappointing and likely our last. Over the years, the salads/appetizers have risen from the $8-$12 range to the upper teens. A small appetizer of calamari was $13 and nothing exceptional with other prices nearer $20. The entrees have now risen to mostly in the mid $40's and again, while good they are simply overpriced. Our server suggested the margarita of the day and we all ordered a good but nothing special drink that we found out when we got our check was $16.50 for a very normal size and average drink. Chimayo is no longer that special."

  • "This is the second time we dined here and while the food is very good, it is not break the bank amazing. The price of an entree is ridiculously high - $41 +++. Also, we had a 5:45 reservation and were very rushed. If I am spending that kind of money, I expect more than overpriced fast food service. We also weren't informed there was chips and guacamole available. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet but not worth the price of the food. They slightly redeemed themselves - it was our sons 14th birthday and he ordered the $24 fondue which when the waitress arrived with the bill informed us the dessert was on the house."

  • "It has been about a decade since we last ate at Chimayo, and I'm happy to say the years have been good to it! My husband and I dined there with another couple while we were in Park City for vacation recently, and it was an excellent choice. Despite having reservations, there was a slight wait for our table, and there is no bar area to wait in. However, once seated, service was excellent, the food was delicious and creative, and the atmosphere was fun. I have no doubt that we will return to Chimayo the next time we are in Park City!"

Good, but a terrible value for Mexican food. The place was full, but there are better values in Park City."

  • "I was a bit put off by the dinner prices, but let me say this.. The food is over the top delicious. I don't recommend the soup sampler, but the Osso buco was perfect . I also had the avocado salad, which was plenty of food for a lite eater.. very delicious with lots of different flavors.."

  • "Huge portions! I made the mistake of getting a queso fundido app for myself--it would have been enough for many ppl. If you go, be careful with the apps... The food was quite tasty, but it was not super-special, and for the price, even in PC, I would have liked super-special. If what you want is a luxurious southwest-mex place with decent food and you don't mind paying, this could be good for you."
