Chicken and the EggEnjoyable eveningThroughly enjoyed our night out at the Chicken and Egg...service was excellent. When I had a question regarding a wine selection...a small sample was offered,,,amazing to me!!! Food was different...but all four dishes were outstanding. Enjoyed the evening and would highly recommend for a different dining experience...a little on the high side but well worth it. enjoy!!!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch ReviewFood was very good - great selection and very fresh. Waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. It was our first visit so there may have been a reason - but the kitchen service was extremely slow. Will definitely give it another try. The decor/ lay out of the restaurant is very pleasing with plenty of space between tables. Great restaurant to have in the neighborhood.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMVery PleasantMet some friends for lunch. Nice menu, blue plate special was outstanding, choice of meat, 2 sides, cornbread, and drink for $10.
Nice layout, clean, open atmosphere. Definitely would go again.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh and DeliciousOur waiter Steve was a delight and the food was delicious. Was too stuffed for dessert, but will have to try it another time. I had a very tasty Bloody Mary that tasted fresh from the garden. Can't wait to try their brunch.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch!First time having brunch here. It was great. This place is consistently great. Eaten here a half dozen or so times and every time it's been an exceptional meal. Great service, great food, great drinks at great prices. You can't go wrong with Chicken and the Egg!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect every time!We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE C&E for all events. Whether it's a night out with my husband/other adults or taking the kids for a good meal, we always enjoy the food and the friendly staff. Because the owners/chef take such great precautions with their suppliers, I know I'm getting the best available food for my money and the environment. Couldn't be happier with our go-to place!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place! This is one of my favorite places to dine. Not only because the food is delicious but because it is prepared with thoughtful care. Unique menu items that change with the seasons offer another reason to return again and again. (btw, when is boiled peanut ice cream coming back???) If you live in the Marietta area and haven't been already, get there tonight. If you live in parts beyond, it is definitely worth the drive.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful waiter with someWonderful waiter with some great suggestions ( especially the Sauvignon Blanc). He was attentive without being obtrusive. Mushroom goat cheese and honey appetizer was addictive. The scallops were wonderfully seared , almost carmelized while retaining succulence and not at all overcooked. The accompanying risotto was different and delicious. My daughter loved her salad with poached shrimp. Only 2 misses - the tomato soup was more like a sauce and my daughter ate only a quarter of it. I ordered tea after dinner and they only had Bigelow herbal tea. Please upgrade your tea selection and include some black teas. . Overall a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurantGreat service and delicious food. Highly recommended5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat farm to table restaurantWe went for Mother's Day brunch. No Buffett it was order from the menu but the food was great. It is in the same shopping complex as Gabriel's - not 5 miles out like their website states. We loved it though and will return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat West Cobb had been waiting forFinally a great spot for Brunch in West Cobb! A very wonderful surprise, we'll be going back many times I am sure. Great fun, excellent service in a modern diwn home style interior. We only did Bruncj and will try Chicken and Egg for dinner soon. A great spot - highly recommended!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for Mother's Day brunch.Went for Mother's Day brunch. Four adults two children. Very enjoyable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food!Everyone at our table was extremely happy with everything we ordered. I had ordered eggs, bacon and grits which were about the best grits I've ever eaten, but I had food envy over my daughter's salad with pieces of fried chicken in it. I grabbed a piece of chicken when she wasn't looking and would have taken the rest of it but I was caught! Now I'm anxious to go back for dinner to order the fried chicken. Also we shared the 3 puddings for dessert and again, they were fabulous. The banana pudding was wonderful and the chocolate pudding was a semi sweet chocolate that was incredible. The ambience was very nice as well, you'd never know sitting inside that the restaurant was in a strip mall. I can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food...noisy atmosphereWe were looking for a "new" place to go in the Marietta area and decided to try Chicken and the Egg predicated on the reviews on Open Table. They have a nice menu and the food we had was very good. The service was also excellent. The restaurant is very open with hard surfaces so the design contributes to a fairly high noise level if the restaurant is crowded. I suspect we'll return to try out some different things on the menu, but the word of warning is that if you're looking for a quiet restaurant so you might enjoy conversation with your eating partner or partners, it may turn out to be a bit difficult at the Chicken and The Egg.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Time Dining HereWe read many positive reviews before coming. We arrived at 5:30 on a Thursday evening, so it was very quiet. We were given the option of the Thursday special menu ($25 for two: 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 desserts). It would have been a bargain but the food was lacking. The chicken-fried steak was mostly breading and sinewy. The pork schnitzel was just OK. The pimento cheese appetizer and hummus appetizer were outstanding, as were the banana cream pudding jars. We will be back, but will definitely go with the regular dinner menu. Our server was attentive and pleasant; the wine was well-priced.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistentWe have enjoyed Chicken and the Egg many times. The food and service is consistently outstanding. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Love the drink choices too.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFanastic Food and Service!!Richard was our server and his knowledge of the menu was impressive, they change the menu seasonally and it had just changed and he recommended perfect dishes for us! He really was a terrific server!! We ordered the mushroom toast and fried oysters for appetizers and they were both delicious! I don't even like fried oysters and I loved these!! Our table orderd the hanger steak, fried chicken and the scallop dinners and they were all perfectly prepared and delicious! We got our desserts to go and ate them later in the evening, the key lime cheesecake was the best! The chocolate with a hint of mint was very rich and yummy!! We will definitely return!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great service,Great food, great service, welcoming, homey feel. Really like this place a lot.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy Mate's Birthday with FriendsI had a surprise brunch for my mate and invited another couple to join us. The food was spectacular and our waiter was terrific. Definitely have to have the "Bottomless Mimosas". We were not rushed and I they even honored my special request (my boyfriend loves food...all kinds and I asked if the chef could come and meet us...and he did!!) It was very nice of them. We were the last diners and we didnt even know until we looked around and suggested that we leave.
Will definitely return for dinner.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's one of my favorites inIt's one of my favorites in this area! Great food, reasonable price.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat wine policy, bring yourGreat wine policy, bring your own wine, no corking fee. I would recommend improving the limited house wine list, a number of reds were rated 81 by WS. Overall good restaurant. Great imagination in the kitchen with the entrees.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur server, Steven, was mostOur server, Steven, was most attentive and efficient. The brunch menu selection was extensive with exciting special for the day. $5 Bloody Mary's at brunch, too. Who could ask for more?3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Friday Night Date!I was pleased to hear that we were permitted to bring our own wine and there was no corkage fee! We started with the black eyed pea hummus and caper tapenade, it was served it toasted pita chips; however, I wish they would have also had some carrot or celery sticks as well. We then proceeded to share the steak which was cooked to perfection! The crispy steamed green beans were a nice addition but I was disappointed with the mashed potatoes. They were far too cheesy and had sort of that artifical boxed-mac-and-cheese. The shrimp and grits were also fantastic but were not quite spicy enough for me. The service from Richard was outstanding and his menu knowledge was impeccable! I will definitely be back.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch experience. VeryGreat brunch experience. Very attentive service. Reasonably priced3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Marietta ChoiceExcellent restaurant. We had 5:45 PM reservations, got lost, called, and were seated at 6 PM without any trouble. Farm to table concept with environmentally friendly vibe. Scallops, Mussels, and a salad for us and each was delicious. Nice open ambiance as well. Great find.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA definite must goThe food and service was truly outstanding. I had the short rib, my wife had the country fried steak, both were excellent, though I have to say the frid steak may have been the best I've had. We also started with the pimento cheese, and the special app of the day, pork rillette. Both were also excellent. The only slight let down was dessert, it did not seem to match the truly cared for quality of the meal. I will still give this five stars because the food really was that good ad we will be returning for sure. Excellent overall job!!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in town.Excellent food, wine and great service. Our second time here. We ordered the shrimp and grits. It was delicious! One the best of the best dishes I ever have tasted. We wanted to lick the plate.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the second time thatThis was the second time that we have had brunch and it was just so-so both times. (We have had dinner on several occasions and have loved it) Our server was attentive but the kitchen was so ridiculously slow. It took 40-45 minutes from the time we ordered to get our food. The Apple French Toast was just OK, not great. They were very good about doing a special order for a family member with special dietary needs.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AM
