Chicago Firehouse RestaurantWonderful Food and ServiceThe service was great and the food was eve better! One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall a very good experience!Overall a very good experience! The service was stellar and the food superb.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood gemThis is always a neighborhood favorite for lunch, brunch, or dinner with friends.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome foodWe took out of town visitors who adored the venue. The food was wonderful. Swordfish was cooked well, a bit peppery. The steaks were superb. One of us ordered the filet mignon, while another ordered the filet flight. Both are great, though I personally favor the flight for its uniqueness. The blue cheese filet was a hit. Seafood pasta was delightful. It is a bit spicy, but rounds off well. We had chocolate moose cake for dessert. It was okay, the moose was a bit hardened/cold, though the cake itself was delicious.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNear the convention center,Near the convention center, so a great place for lunch to get away from the crowds. A bit pricey but worth it. Beautiful outdoor patio.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food!Chicago Firehouse has good food and a very nice ambience to spend an evening in.
For a steakhouse, they have really good salads and appetizers! The sea food platter is a must. The steak.. talk to the waiter and decide if you don't know your meat. Pork chops were decent, creme brulee was good.
Staff was attentive and friendly.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat steaks and Key Lime PieTheir fillet mignon is incredible, as is the Key Lime Pie!! Wonderful wine list, the Bridalwood Pinot Noir is excellent and doesn't break the bank. Wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The building's history adds to the charm.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMReservation easy to make andReservation easy to make and sat on time. As all the tables in the restaurant filled it became noiser, also a young child there with a party and she did not want to be there. Wonderful service! We were a party of four and three loved their food, one had the special and said it was okay. Overall would go back.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAussie in ChicagoThe best steak I have ever had, quality food all round and a complimentary wine list. I would recommend the Chicago Firehouse to anyone visiting Chicago.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThursday Night Jazz TrioMuch has been said about the sizzling, buttery steaks with the garlicky crusts and the shareable sides. Not nearly enough has been said about the jazz trio that plays in the bar on Thursday nights. They are terrific! Keyboard, bass, and vocalist combine to perform swing standards. Think Harry Connick Jr. or Michael Buble. The food is tasty, but the music makes this place truly special. Great for a date you want to impress with your suave sophistication.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMRealize what you are getting into. The food was awesome. I had a double cut pork chop with wonderful flavor. My friends all has steaks and they were cooked perfectly. We had a group that was entertaining itself but the waiter was gone for very long periods of time. Might be the worst service I have ever had BUT we had a fantastic time and would return!5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRefreshing & relaxing!More relaxed and romantic than your standard formal steakhouse dining but with a warm inviting atmosphere to suit all occasions - we visited for date night on my first visit to Chicago and could not have been more ideal sitting in a corner leather wrapped booth sharing a bottle of wine while tables nearby were laughing and celebrating - rolls are awesome, menu had more options than most - classic surf and turf for us Delicious! Server was on best behavior but still let real personality come through and was sincere -- could very easily be the go to favorite for entertaining friends and family or romance for 2 --- if it wasn't in a different time zone :)5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMre waoter Paul was very attentive!re waoter Paul was very attentive! and the steak was delish!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful placeFood was delightful as was the service. I definitely recommend this place.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night! The food was fantastic and we had an excellent outdoor spot. Clear a great restaurant the crowd was great!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a reservation and waitedWe had a reservation and waited nearly an hour for a table. The food was good, albeit expensive, and the service was fine after we were seated.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceWas in town for the weekend with my wife. Did some research and chose this spot for a nice dinner. It was great from start to finish. The service was excellent, we had a nice guy named Michael. Food was excellent, i had the 8oz filet cooked to perfection. wife had a filet with crab meat. We sat down right on time with our reservation. We got there a bit early and enjoyed the outdoor patio, which was very nice. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and if I am back in Chicago, I would go here again. The check took a while to get, without even mentioning anything Michael came out and apologized and gave us a free dessert... Class act.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot, but pricey...We went for the Mother's Day Brunch. The initially sat us at a table that would've put us back-to-back with another family, but a manager quickly recognized this and moved us. After that, it was all good. The food was good, the staff was solid, and the building (an old firehouse) is great. Ask the manager for a tour, it was quick but worth it.
6 Adults - 2 Kids $500 w. tip.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Brunch just missedThe 8 of us, including 4 mothers and grandmothers went to Mother's Day brunch buffet at the Chicago Firehouse. The food was great, we had an excellent table and our server was appropriately helpful. My only suggestion are that for $49 per person, the brunch should include a glass of Champaigne. Also, it would have been nice if the restaurant gave each of the mothers a flower. It would have been a nice touch at very little cost to the restaurant.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LunchHad a quick layover in Chicago to have lunch for Mother's Day. The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant's warm, friendly staff and inviting atmosphere was just what we needed to make the day special. The food from the special event menu was much better than the term "buffet" would indicate. There was a wide variety of entrees to choose from and everything was delicious.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat TimeThis restuarant is very upscale. I just went there over Mother's Day weekend. The food and service is very good.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the Old Firehouse SettingI'm a Firefighter, so everything about the restaurant I loved!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, great food. When my boyfriend and I first arrived for our reservation, we got sat at a table in a very high traffic area which made me a little uncomfortable. I asked the hostesses if we could be resat and they proptly took us to a booth in the main dining room. -Much better! Our server (Marcus) was awesome. He had perfect timing.. and knew how to joke back with us. My man enjoyed a NY strip and I got a ceasar salad and shrimp risotto (starter) as my entree. It was the perfect size and absolutely amazing. In fact, I'm craving some now just thinking about it...5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDate Night!!!Great place for a date night. Food was amazing and they place was very romantic. Can't wait to stop back by this place again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth a visit!Made a dinner reservation before we left Los Angeles for a trip into Chicaco. Were tempted to cancel the reservation due to a long travel day, but are glad we didn't! The food and service were outstanding. GREAT drinks, steaks and took the waiter's advice in ordering a rhubarb/strawberry crumble dessert. Delicious. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent grillThe entree's were excellent, dinner rolls to die for, and the wine and beer selection great! Nice, reasonably priced restaurant with a very good atmosphere for adults and also would be kid-friendly.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMBirthday dinnerWe had a fabulous time there for my boyfriend's birthday! The food was exactly what he likes (surf and turf) and we had a nice waiter.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service and great food..My wife and I were going to Chicago for our 15th Anniversary and after a lot of research as to where might be the best place to spend out romantic night out, we ended up choosing The Chicago Firehouse. As a chef, I do have pretty high standards as to where I like to go out to dinner. Our evening started out with some of the best service I have ever had in a restaurant (request Bradley if you go. You won't regret it). As if the incredible and extremely attentive service wasn't enough, the food was just as good. The Dry Aged Ribeye was cooked to perfection as well as my wife's filet flight and the soups were superb. The next trip that the wife and I make to Chicago from Detroit will definitely include a trip to the Firehouse again.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service wereThe food and service were top notch!!! The waiter we had (David) was absolutely spectacular. He was attentive beyond believe. I have an adult son who has special needs and David picked up on it and without hesitation took care of having his steak cut to perfection. The food was excellent as well. Everything cooked to perfection. I didn't think I would have room for desert, but shared it with my son and was glad I did. It was key lime pie and by far the best I've ever tasted.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Chicago Firehouse experienceThe Chicago Firehouse experience was exceptional. Food, atmosphere and service was excellent. We celebrated a birthday and would do it again. Great time.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the few restaurantsOne of the few restaurants which accept reservations for Sunday Brunch! Beautiful ambience with lots of natural light. Attentive staff. Delicious food. Not overly crowded. Able to accommodate kids who joined our large party at the last minute. Perfect.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur third time here, firstOur third time here, first time for dinner. Our tab with two drinks each and no dessert/coffee was $150 without tip. Prices make it a special occasion restaurant for us and we had a gift card from our kids to use here. Food, service and ambiance was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. Street parking is difficut to find, even at 5pm on a Saturday. Valet is $9. Parking lot down the street two blocks was $7.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely outstanding !!!!Absolutely outstanding !!!! We completely enjoyed all elements of the experience. Have recommended The Chicago Firehouse to several friends.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic service! Our serverFantastic service! From the appetizers, oyster rockefeller, crab cake, mozzerella salad, lobster bisque...can ya tell we were hungry? The au gratin potatoes, fingerling potatoes as well as our steaks were cooked to perfection! We will be back!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very reasonablyThis is a very reasonably priced, large portion restaurant that, in my opinion, is perfect choice for a romantic dinner. Bradley our server was also outstanding and very helpful.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThere are too many tablesThere are too many tables crammed into too small a space. We arrived 20 minutes ahead of several members of our party and were asked to wait until our whole party arrived. The bar was full as it only holds a dozen or so people. Bar stools back right up against diners sitting at tables situated adjacent to the bar. The food and drinks were excellent, but we over-ordered and the waiter did not recommend cutting back even though he knew we were over-ordering on the food. Otherwise the food and ervice were near perfect. I woudl not go back on a busy night as it was just too crowded with too many tables packed into too small a space.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMI was a little worried becauseI was a little worried because a lot of the reviews were negative recently, but I'm glad I did not listen to those reviews. The Chicago Firehouse was wonderful! Waiters were nice and informative. The food was excellent! My husband and I split the seafood appetizer for our dinner and we were not disappointed! Out friends got steaks and the Amish chicken. They all loved their food. Creme Brule was sooo good!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AM"I love the relaxed feel of"I love the relaxed feel of this place - low romantic lighting, intimate and cozy – like a comfortable living room. I definitely would return to try more dishes."3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food a little priceyGreat food a little pricey for the south loop but worth it. Would recommend for a special occasion3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only complaint is thatThe only complaint is that they tried to sit us in the bar when the dining room was available...otherwise everything was great!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!Chicago Firehouse was awesome. From the moment I arrived till the time we left was awesome. The food was great, the atmosphere was calming and the server was professional. We were served birthday cake with a candle without asking. Thank you Chicago Firehouse!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem we had withThe only problem we had with Chicago Firehouse was the seating arrangement. We were at a table for two which was very close to tables on both sides of us. Makes it hard to carry on private conversations.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMChicago Firehouse was a wonderfulChicago Firehouse was a wonderful experience. I will definately return there next time we are in Chicago!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful and historic location.Wonderful and historic location. Great steakhouse near the south loop. My steak was perfectly prepared and well served, but it was not the best cut if meat I've ever had. Be sure to ask the wait staff about the history of the firehouse and the neighborhood.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time was a charm! We went to Firehouse for an intimate, early dinner, birthday celebration before going to the Auditorium Theater to see a play. I never heard of this restaurant. I found it by searching online for steakhouses close to the theater. The website was inviting and the pictures showed a romantic, historic and cozy dinning experience. I worried that the ACTUAL restaurant would not be like the pictures. I was not disappointed. It was everything that the pictures showed and much, much more. The greeter was friendly and took us directly to our table in the main room. Our waiter was wonderful and the service was terrific. The wine recommendations were perfect. The steak was a bit over cooked, but still tasted fantastic! I would definitively go back.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMService was inpeccable.
