Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast," as well as a dynamic lunch service featuring carving stations in the bar area with prime rib, ham and turkey. Chicago Cut's expansive surroundings feature a lively bar area framed by dramatic wine display cases; vibrant red velvet banquettes and spacious dining tables; and sweeping views of the Chicago River. A sprawling outdoor patio lining the riverside attracts diners throughout the day and well into the evening.   • "Was really looking forward to this but sad to say i was disapointed. Perhaps some issues can be chalked up to a busy friday but the result is the same. The seating is in a large room that appeared to be set up for sbout 20 percent more tables than it could comfortably handle. The overall noise level was almost deafening, making the atmosphere akin to that of a german beer hall. Very difficult to hold a conversation with my partner. Definately not a good choice for an intimate evening meal. Service was acceptable and the food although quite good, did not outweigh the previous negatives. Finally the prices were high in my opinion. I have had equal quality food and a much better dining experince for significantly less money elsewhere. Pass!"

  • "All three of our party ordered steaks, and 2 paid extra for the bone in steaks. Steaks were cooked properly, but the meat was just plain tough. They were so busy (and it was then 9 p.m. on a Monday night), we did not ask to get new steaks. I have a feeling they would have changed them out with no problem, but we did not want to wait. Service was good, no complaints, just think the steak quality was not great and especially for the price. You can get this type of food at any steak house in any city."

  • "It was an anniversary dinner, which was indicated when the reservation was made. I am not sure why this information is requested because they didn't acknowledge this at any time. Why ask then ? THe food was very good but the sides, mainly the potatoes, were barely enough to serve two. Very pricey, too, for these sides. The main server was nice, but obviously more focused on a larger table nearby. I think the steakhouse should not have a server take care of small and larger tables. Too much time in between visits when attention is needed. I poured my wine twice......not that I can't do it, but when you pay these prices you deserve better attention. Finished the wine at the bar.......very nice bartender."

  • "Was really excited to come back and take my family here while they visited. My previous experience was excellent, however, my most recent visit was spoiled by poor service. Upon being seated from the bar, the waiter removed our wine glasses (for some reason), then fumbled to find some when we ordered wine 5 mins later. Half-assed his way through the specials and couldn't be bothered to get us a dessert menu. He just rambled them off as he was walking away ... For what I'm spending to eat here, I expect the service to be impeccable. Fortunately, the food was good, which is most important. Chocking up the experience to one bad apple, so I'll be back at some point. Just bummed as I thought I had found my "go-to" steakhouse in Chicago."

  • "Went to Chicago Cut for my partner's 50th birthday. I wanted to take her somewhere special for a great filet. What we got was a really good filet for a lot of money and a great view. The rest was just ok. Everything is ala carte, which is fine -- we had green beans almondine and hashbrown potatoes -- both were dripping in butter - not in a good way. The roasted tomato that came with the filet was cold as was the coffee. As for the service, our waiter was fine but there were so many managers, hosts, waiters, servers, and busman everywhere that the place feels crowded and noisy even when there aren't many diners in the restaurant. For the money, I would go somewhere else for a great steak -- Chicago Cut was just adequate at best."

  • "In trying to find a late night (11 p.m.) dinner reservation near the Oriental theater, I stumbled upon Chicago Cut. From there prompt and attentive staff upon arrival, to their knowledgeable and helpful wait staff at the table, Chicago Cut is truly a cut above the rest. The food was excellent and came out of the kitchen quickly, even with a dinning room that was still quite vibrant at close to midnight. I will definitely be back. This will definitely be my go to place in the loop or late night dinning. They are open until 2 a.m."

Twelve dollar mushroom order was disappointment. Small wine pours, probably 4 oz. Great wine selection but way overpriced for a such a small pour. Too crowded and loud inside, but patio outside is nice with great view of the city."

  • "Chicago Cut takes service to a new level. After searting we were greeted almost immediately by our main server- Margen(Sic). A very friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable young lady. this was the start to the most exempleary service I have ever received. Margen, and her serving partner Todd, proceeded to serve us as if we were guests in their home. My wife and I were there for our anniversarry, and could not have asked for a better night. I had the filet and my wife the Dover Sole. the food was exquisite, the wine served spectacular. I have been to countless Steak Houses, along with many other top notch in Chicago and across the country. Chicago Cut is the second best restaurant I ever enjoyed, and #1 is no longer open."

  • "We dined at C.C.S. after attending a matinee of Motown. My wife is on a high protein diet. We had Ted Gravina as our waiter. It could not have been a more enjoyable evening. Ted accommodated my wife's choices, made suggestions and made sure her dining experience was perfect. I also went with Ted's recommendations and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. We went to celebrate a birthday and not only did they comp dessert, they also put a candle in it when they served it. The staff was willing to split dishes tableside for us (with so many great options, you have to split items or you'll never make it to the steak!) Speakin of great food options.... try the lobster salad, truffle potatos and the bone in rib eye. It is a little more expensive that I'd normally like but it was worth every penny. Great job."
