Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast," as well as a dynamic lunch service featuring carving stations in the bar area with prime rib, ham and turkey. Chicago Cut's expansive surroundings feature a lively bar area framed by dramatic wine display cases; vibrant red velvet banquettes and spacious dining tables; and sweeping views of the Chicago River. A sprawling outdoor patio lining the riverside attracts diners throughout the day and well into the evening. Special touches abound, such as the restaurant's global wine list, which is presented to the guest via an interactive iPad program.Continued

  • "Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago!!! Amazing food, amazing wine, amazing view, amazing service!!!"

  • "The atmosphere was great, the view was great, the service was good, but the food was a total let down. I was so excited to taste the food since it came highly recommended but I've honestly had better food at a chain restaurant, so disappointed."

  • "For someone who lives in New York and has been to some of the finest steakhouses Manhattan offers, Chicago Cut rivals any and all of them. You could put this place anywhere and it would probably be one of the best steakhouses that city has. Unbelievable service and food, great setting, just an overall wonderful dining experience."

  • "We had our anniversary dinner at Chicago Cut and could not have been more pleased. Our waiter , Kisong, was perfectly attentive, without being overbearing, helped us select an amazing wine at our price point, and recommended terrific dishes. I had the skirt steak with carmelized onions. It was tasty, perfect temperature and doneness and big enough to take half home! My husband had the filet which was also perfectly cooked and butter-tender. We started with oysters, which were delicious--all with a gorgeous view of the Chicago River. A perfect night."

  • "Great food...I have been there twice this month and both times have felt like we were on a time for ordering. Not a relaxing experience."

  • "The scenery inside and outside is great and I had a wonderful time. My server Holly was outstanding and really catered to our needs. Will definitely be returning!"

  • "We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Chicago Cut. We were lucky enough to get a table on the outside patio. There was a slight chill in the air but they had brought out heaters that made it quite comfortable. Service was excellent - our server made several good suggestions, including a malbec wine that we really enjoyed. My husband ordered the "Holy Grail" steak which was huge, but very tasty. Next time I think we will split one. We have been to Chicago Cut several times and we are never disappointed."

  • "This is my absolute "go to" spot in the loop for business lunches. The Lobster salad is the best in the city IMHO. Great staff. Great food. Reasonable prices. Love it. Highly recommended."

  • "Chicago Cut Steakhouse is definitely a hot spot, to ensure I get to try this restaurant on my weekend trip to Chicago, I had to make a reservation a week in advance and yet I was only able to get a table at 8pm on a Sunday. My first impression, is that this isn't your typical steakhouse, the noise level is high and the tables are really tight. The food is good, a bit too salty for my liking but the meat was fresh and the service was good. Unless you are looking for a scenic view experience, I don't think I would recommend this place. For the price of this meal, I would like to enjoy my meal in a less crowded place with less noise. We weren't able to carry a conversation without having to repeat and raise our voices."

  • "I wasn't impressed with the restaurant. It was too crowded and the tables were too close together. It was very noisy and I had to shout across a small table in order to talk to my wife. The steak was okay, not what I expected for the money that was charged. Overall, I was not impressed and wouldn't recommend the dining experience to anyone else."

  • "The food was the best, Steven (Stephen?) was vey attentive without hovering, and the view couldn't have been better. We had the filets, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned, with sauteed spinach, green beans almondine, hash browns (enought for three people), and mushrooms for sides. For my birthday, a large slice of the best Key Lime pie to split, their treat On the negative side, it was very noisy. The worst part, probably why we will never go back, is that it was so crowded with tables, our chair backs were literally on the diners of the tables to the back and sides of us. We were unable to pull our chairs out or get out without asking three people to move. Quite a undignified thing to have to do in a classy place like this!"

  • "Visited during my recent trip to Chicago to celebrate my birthday and had a lovely experience. Our waitress made us feel very welcome and made sure I felt special. Views are great to take in the river lined buildings and food was enjoyable."

  • "A very classy restaurant and outstanding service without being hoity-toity or pretentious. For Sunday Brunch I had the Eggs Benedict with Chicago Prime Filet instead of Canadian bacon done to perfection. My wife enjoyed a non-menu breakfast scrambler suggested by our server who made several other excellent suggestions. It was an excellent meal in a great atmosphere and our server made it fun."

  • "After not being able to make a reservation for our Anniversary dinner the night before, we decided to go for brunch on Sunday. Our server was Joseph and he was extremely personable. He gave us a full run down of all the specials and was extremely knowledgeable and extremely attentive. The view was wonderful right by the river. He even brought out a dessert on the house for our anniversary weekend. My husband stuck with the more traditional pancakes and eggs and I went with the scrambler. Both were delicious. We were visiting Chicago for the first time. Our brunch did not disappoint at all. If we ever go back to Chicago, we will definitely go back for dinner."

  • "We went for a special occasion and had a fantastic time! The service was absolutely flawless, despite how busy and crowded it was! Wonderful evening"

  • "Chicago Cut has it all covered-delicious food, located on the water, but if the weather doesn't cooperate they a great room surrounded by windows, and excellent service. These are the reasons it's on the return list. Steak was done perfectly, fish of the day was fresh and tasty and the sides were the perfect adds. They have an extensive wine list to round it out. I look forward to their next venture focusing on seafood at the former Keefer's space."

  • "my wife and I celebrated our 10 years of marriage at the Chicago Cut....the hype of the did not meet my expectations...the filet center cut 8oz had way too much fat....$56 for that steak was NOT a good deal nor worth it....I wish we had gone to Gibsons Steak instead....I also felt that the Chicago Cut should have NOT charged me for my dinner since I could NOt eat it due to the fat content....They did offer me a new steak but I just was not in the mood since the first steak turned me off......"

  • "I've been to all the best steak houses in the city and all over the country but I always come back here. The steaks are flaVorful and the portions are generous. The seafood and salads are delicious as well. The cosmos are the best. They have a great wine list. Be prepared to spend $$$ but it's worth it. I'll definitely go back."

  • "CCS is supposedly the best steakhouse in Chicago by multiple professional and laymen circles. I love steak and have eaten at two to three dozen prime steakhouses all over Chicago, the U.S. and Western Europe. My wife and I were both stunningly underwhelmed by our steaks at the Chicago Cut Steakhouse. My boneless NY Strip and her bone-in Ribeye were both lacking flavor. We ordered medium and got medium-well. My addition of Au Poivre was done recklessly with overloaded seared in black peppercorns (sauce on the said as I requested) turned out to be a huge mistake. The sides of mashed potatoes and fresh corn were delicious. But a $251 tab for two celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary, our home city's premiere steakhouse bombed."

  • "I went with three co-workers. We all decided to order different steaks. The bone-in prime rib was everyone's favorite. They seem to roast it then grill it. Tastes like a grilled steak on the outside and prime rib on the inside."

  • "I had pick this restaurant for my girlfriends birthday since neither one of us had been to it. It was on Monday 9/15 and it was quite busy for a Monday but we were seated a couple of minutes before our actual reservation. The noise level was a bit busy but not overwhelming. the food was great. I had the Delmonico Steak because I love the fat flavor of the steak and it was cooked to perfection. I also had their whipped sweet potatoes and they were so creamy and tasty. our server was great and we never had to wait on him or look for him to ask for anything. I think this could be a great romantic place if caught on the right night."

  • "My husband and I went to Chicago Cut for our one year anniversary- everything from being congratulated on our anniversary as soon as we arrived to the complimentary dessert we received was amazing! We were also lucky enough to be seated by the window overlooking the river. Our server was personable, knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. Food-wise, I had the butternut squash soup while my husband had the French au gratin- both fantastic. I also had the filet oscar and he had the New York strip- again, both were perfect! It was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary."

  • "Went here for my wife's birthday. Service was impeccable. Unlike most steakhouses doesn't have a staid , old school feeling. Great view of the City. Steaks were spot on. Our server couldn't have been more professional and anticipated our needs. Not a big "meat eater" any more but this is where I will come to get my fix."

  • "Have been there many times and this time was for my wife's birthday. Seated as soon a we walk in and bread and water showed up at once. My wife ordered the white fish and said it was the best she ever had. I had a steak and it was out standing. The asparagus was perfect and a nice size portion. The birthday cake they brought was extremely good."

  • "food was extraordinary, never had a steak this good in my life. only downside: very crowded & extremely high noise level - had to shout in order for the waitress to understand us. plus if you'd like to drink more than one glass of wine, order a whole bottle right away - it will definitely be cheaper..."

  • "Waiter was very nice but the place was jammed and VERY loud. Hot appetizers arrived cold. Steaks were good.....except one of our party's steak was the wrong cut and had to be re-cooked. Sides were just ok. One was never delivered, yet we were charged for it. Waiter did comp dessert for a birthday at our table. A mixed bag...."

  • "They have taken on the Gibsons model of hustling through their patrons despite very high price points. It is the hot place now, they will have a run and then will wonder what happened. felt pushed and hurried, unnecessary. Steaks are decent, but no better than other places."

  • "Medium rare filet was cooked perfectly and could be cut with a fork. Don't shy away from the skirt steak, it was huge and very tasty. Cool iPad bar menu. Only complaint was in the lack of spiced rum, but realized Chicago isn't big on it."

  • "This restaurant is a must do! Food is amazing...no complaints. I highly recommend the lobsterscargot appetizer, the Oreo/mint pie, and the sea salt caramel ice cream. Mmmmm! My filet was also cooked perfectly and very tender. I highly recommend the outdoor seating when weather permits. The river view makes you truly appreciate this wonderful city. The restaurant is modern and elegant, but tends to draw an older, more professional crowd."

  • "Went there for a birthday dinner, than 3 days later back for Sunday brunch. The dinner food was incredibly delicious. Had the lobster and beef. The vegetables, sautéed spinach and hash browns were oversized for two, and made to perfection. Sunday brunch, sat outside on the river enjoying the view. Had the crab and avocado appetizer. Both had the split pea soup. Very delicious. Waiters were extremely attentive. Recieved dessert on the house. Enjoyed soaking up the Chicago atmosphere. We think, the place to go in the city."
