Chicago Cut Steakhouse redefines Chicago's steak-centric dining scene with signature USDA-certified prime beef, which is hand cut and dry aged on site. A variety of made-to-order cuts are joined by eight different fish options, shellfish, chops, an array of hearty side dishes and more on the extensive dinner menu. The restaurant also serves the city's best "power breakfast," as well as a dynamic lunch service featuring carving stations in the bar area with prime rib, ham and turkey. Chicago Cut's expansive surroundings feature a lively bar area framed by dramatic wine display cases; vibrant red velvet banquettes and spacious dining tables; and sweeping views of the Chicago River. A sprawling outdoor patio lining the riverside attracts diners throughout the day and well into the evening.   • "This is the second time I have been to Chicago Cut. The food was good, steak cooked as I ordered it and the sides were done nicely. However, the tables have been pushed so close together that the waiter could not come around to my side of the table. I had to reach over my the table to receive my plates and hand everything off to the clearing staff. Not exactly what I want to do in a restaurant that is charging the prices Chicago Cut do. The noise level is very high-if you want to talk to your friends during dinner go someplace else."

  • "My boyfriend and I frequent steakhouses in Chicago, but Friday night was the first time we ate here. We enjoyed the view, and felt the sides were great portion sizes. My boyfriend ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare, and it came to him medium-well. Also, it was extremely dry.....not the type of Ribeye we expected at Chicago cut. My filet was very good and I did enjoy mine. I also believe he may have been served the bone in filet by accident and there may have been a mix up."

  • "My wife and I had a great meal with wonderful steaks. Overall, the food, most of the staff, and atmosphere made up for any flaws. We felt like our waiter did his best but was rushed serving too many tables. The IPad wine list slowed things down and there were too many desserts to recite at a customer. The appetizers, salad, and soup came out on top of each other."

  • "In a town full of steak places, Chicago Cut is just another steak place. The dining room is crowded (tables are VERY close). They seated us about 30 minutes after our reservation. The waiter, who didn't write anything down, was pleasant, but brought us an item we decided not too order. The steaks were good, but nothing spectacular. Ratings might be better if all of this wasn't priced 15-20% higher than other steak houses, although nothing about the meal was spectacular in the least. You have go a long way to convince me your steak is worth $55-$60 and Chicago Cut didn't make the Cut. I'd stick with some of the tried and true Chicago steak houses or Steak / Stone Crab places before visiting Chicago Cut again."

  • "When dining out, I expect the restaurant staff to be able to suggest a particular dish that is exceptional. The waitress who served my party suggested that I look around to see what others are eating. In addition to the waitress not knowing what to eat, she was quite rude. There were several occasions she interrupted our party's conversation without a simple "excuse me" or waiting for a break in our conversation. When asked for our order after sitting for less than 5 mins I replied, "please give us a few minutes.". Her reply was, " Oh you need to catch up with each other first.". I wanted the 8oz fillet med rare. It was pink, mostly well done."

  • "For a weeknight that I attended, it was a great time for my mother, brother, and his gf. Celebrating his bday at Chicago Cut was a wonderful idea. He's a steak kinda guy so this place had to be visited. Food was amazingly delicious and service was beyond professional and comforting. Definitely a Must-Go restaurant."

  • "Our original reservation was cancelled due to a special event that was booked at the restaurant, but the staff made every effort to make sure we were taken care of when we came the following night. The food was amazing, our waiter Justin B was fantastic! he made our celebration for Joe's 30th birthday very special, he was friendly, entertaining and very efficient. He made good recommendations with popular menu items and portion sizes… we both left pleasantly full! I would definitely recommend The Cut to my friends and family… especially the bone in fillet- YUM!"

  • "My wife and I came here after a performance at Lyric Opera House on a weekend jaunt and were thrilled we had an early seating were not rushed and had plenty of time to make the train the food was outstanding it is a bit pricey but probably not by Chicago standards. They are very accommodating and I believe this restaurant has one of the most impressive wine lists I have ever seen as it caters to a very sophisticated wine clientele. They were even to able to treat us to a dessert , which we split ,sincet we are friends with one of the owners. This is my fourth time to eat at this restaurant and will continue to do so. The service, presentation and food are just what one would expect. All in all, it was a delightful evening."

The ambiance is nice but the seating is tight and you are disturbed by others if they need to get up. The dishes have fancy names but don't taste good for the price. The steak was not tenderized prior to cooking so it was tough. The drinks were not good and the sides weren't either. Overall this restaurant is over rated and would not return nor recommend anyone."

  • "I recently took a short vacation to Chicago. My first night there, I went to a bar and was told I had to eat at a steakhouse before I left town. After noting my relatively low income, the patrons gave me $80 with specific instructions to enjoy the "best steak in Chicago". I did some research and settled on Chicago Cut. I wasn't disappointed. In fact, between the amazing food, the personable and friendly staff and the riverside view that looked across the water to some of Chicago's tallest buildings, this restaurant exceeded my expectations. My waiter, Rodney, even raced after me when I forgot my credit card in the check presenter. I can't speak highly enough of this place. I hope to someday return this favor and send someone else there."

  • "As a regular on the Chicago steak scene, my favorite steak house used to be one of Cut's competitors Mastros. However, that is no longer. Chicago Cut is by far the best steak house in Chicago. The food is amazing. The service is top notch and the staff is there at your beck and call to answer and fulfill all your wants and needs. The view is breathtaking. And if you truly want a 5 star experience, this is where you need to go. In regards to food, the Cajun Bone in Ribeye was absolutely ridiculous. And this is coming from someone who ALWAYS prefers the filet. Never again!!!"

  • "This was our first time visiting Chicago Cut. We've been to several of the great Chicago Steakhouses and had high expectations. The ambience was good and the subtle music was nice. The location, however, was a little bit tricky to find. The appetizers were absolutely delicious. My wife and I had the scallops and the king crab chowder. The steak and lamb chops were not seasoned enough for our tastes and a little too charred and fatty. What I didn't care for the most was that we were sat down next to the register. All throughout our meal we had people coming up behind our heads. We came for an early dinner and they were transition over to dinner time, however it was far too distracting. Overall, it was a good meal."

They have the Best veal chop in the city of Chicago and I have sampled them all over the world. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience."

  • "My husband and I went to this restaurant because we were looking for the best steak for him on his birthday. I like to eat fish so the menu was perfect for both of us. We sat by the window on lake and it was absoultely gorgeous! The service was outstanding and the ambiance just incredible. He ordered the double cut rib eye (the best, most flavorful steak he's ever had) and I had crab cakes from the appetizer menu (large enough for my main course!). We were both very pleased! We will definitely be back!"
