Diner Reviews
  • "This was a good spot for a quick early dinner before concert in Tarrytown. Service was ok...got crowded and there were not a lot of servers, but they did their best. Food ok, a bit noisy, but its a small room."

  • "Food was great and wait staff was earnest, but poorly trained and hurrying about. Ambiance is noisy and the place lacks charm. Most off-putting was the fact that the man and woman who served as maitre d (presumably the owners) never spoke a single word to us. When we came and gave our name they looked at us as though we had 2 heads, then turned to a computer screen for a full minute, after which they motioned us to a table in the rear (never uttering a single word). When we left, they totally ignored us on the way out."

  • "Some friends and I had dinner at Chiboust before a show last Friday. This was my second time there and again found the food and atmosphere was terrific. I had the chicken stuffed with porcini mushrooms. It was delicious. Two of my friends had the salmon with roasted cauliflower which they both thought was top notch. The pizza is also different and excellent. Our only minor issue was that our waiter was new and didn't know the menu as well as he should have. However, the owner came to our table and clarified everything. She then continued to stop by and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant that has the added advantage of being right across the street from the Tarrytown Music Hall"

  • "Three of us had pizza and salad. The wild mushroom pizza was fabulous. Thin crispy bottom topped with just the right amount of fontina cheese, and then with lots of interesting mushrooms and crispy garlic slices. I started with a very nice roasted beet salad. The waiter was very good."

  • "We don't get out often since we have small kids, and love restaurants that offer a varied and delicious menu. Everything here was perfect, and the atmosphere and staff are wonderful. We'll be back!"

  • "This is a terrific restaurant. Very convenient to Music Hall. Delicious food."

  • "Overall very good. Service was spotty, but not terrible. Noise level was intense and made conversation difficult. I probably wouldn't go back on a Saturday night, but I would definitely go back when it's less crowded."

  • "I chose this restaurant because of their pizza menu. My husband and I both ordered an individual pizza and an order of mixed (sweet potato and regular) fries. The pizzas were very good, but the sweet potato fries were shriveled and overcooked, so only the regular ones were edible. We shared a dessert and each coffee. The above items plus three beers came to $90 with tip. Which brings me to the Splenda: when I pay $90 for dinner, you better darn well have Splenda for my coffee, not shrug your shoulders at my special request among the "so many choices out there" in artificial sweetener land. Pros: the bread before dinner was pillow soft and perfectly brick-oven charred and the pumpkin cheesecake was fluffy, light and awesome."

  • "We enjoyed the drive up from Brooklyn, enjoyed the Autumn foliage along the way. The restaurant is beautifully designed in a modern way. Service was very professional and efficient. The items on the menu were minimal, but each item listed were very appealing to the palate. It is a great place for a Sunday brunch!"

  • "the food is good to very good; the service, on Saturday at least, simply can't keep up. Main course, after two salad hors d'oeuvres, arrived 45 minutes after our order. Had to repeatedly ask for bread, request for little ice in iced coffee ignored, etc. Staff just seemed too busy. Three of us were very happy with the food, one found the beet salad and seared yellow tale hors d'euvres remarkably skimpy."

  • "Great pizza but everything else we ordered was just ok and we didn't even finish it."

  • "This was our first visit to Tarrytown. We code Chiboust from Zagat and thought the food, service and well chosen wine list to be a nice surprise. I would highly recommend this spot."
