We really enjoyed the food and the ambiance at Chianti's. It was Sunday lunch and though the sidewalks of Pleasanton were crowded, it was very quiet in Chianti's. The music playing was lovely and relaxing, not the hyped up music in many restaurants today. The food was delicious and the portions ample. I recommend sharing unless you want to take food home. Especially recommended is the Gorgonzola Chicken.

Excellent dinner. It's pricey, but worth it for special occasions. Everything was delicious: butternut squash ravioli, lamb shank. pasta gorgonzola, jambalaya. Salads were imaginative, but would have been easier to share if they were tossed. Dessert were great as well.

One of our good friends just moved to Pleasanton. I had purchased a gift certificate at St. Raymond's auction the week before for Chianti's so, decided to use it. It was a great choice. The food was fantastic….70% of the table was Italian so, we're a tough group to please in terms of authentic meals. Everyone was happy with their meal, old school…good food. The entire staff was attentive and worked beautifully as a team. We'll be back….

In a sea of Italian restaurants in Pleasanton, this one stands out...authentic Italian. The food is AMAZING! We have never had anything that was perfect. Great service...attentive but not pushy and won't rush you! If you are looking for really good Italian in a cozy place with great atmosphere and service, this is the place!

on a very nice old town shopping street with lots of things to view; at first, the restaurant was very noisy due to a large crowd when we arrived, but once they left one could hear the nice background music and really enjoy the meals. The house white wine was quite good and other wines were typically priced. There is a very large menu with variations done on chicken, beef, veal, or fish with an Italian touch. All 4 of us thought the meal was outstanding. I had the veal saltimbocca, which was delicious with thin slices of tender veal covered by tasty cheese and prosciutto. Grilled salmon and Cannelloni stuffed with sausage were also very good. Service was excellent and overall price was very good for the quality.

My dining partner and I came here for lunch. We sat outside and enjoyed a terrific meal. I had the Champagne which was pan fried veal scaloppini w/Portobello mushrooms, orzo pasta and green beans in a champagne sauce. Veal was tender, orzo was creamy, mushrooms were meaty, but green beans were more al dente than I would have liked. Overall, the dish was great. My partner had the cannelloni filled with sausage and baked with mozzarella cheese on top in a marinara sauce. That was also very good. For dessert there was tiramisu and Triple Chocolate which was layers of 3 chocolate mousses with a chocolate decoration on top. The tiramisu had a strong coffee taste, but still very tasty. The Triple Chocolate was creamy and my favorite.

Went for grandson's (turning 13) family birthday dinner. Lots of menu choices means something for everyone. Good for small groups, couples, families, friends. Delicious Veal Champagne (like scallopini), lasagne, and a special crab-stuffed calamari steak. They also have gluten-free pastas if needed. Will go back again.

We will not be returning to Chianti's. I was looking forward to an awesome Italian dinner, but it was mediocre at best. I'm Italian and have benefitted from Italian cooking my entire life from my mother, grandmother, etc. and I've never had tomato sauce with chunks of raw onion in it but that's what my Melanzana was smothered in. The side dish was angel hair pasta and there was so much of the raw onion sauce on it that I had to dig around through the sauce to find the pasta. When we were first seated, the waiter came to the table and asked "you want a drink?" - really no class at all. Other servers had more class that took care of us but this was our main waiter and he wasn't really very memorable as a server. Just disappointed overall.

Made an early reservation with my parents coming to town, we were the only ones there so it was nice and quiet. The waiter was very nice and the food was amazing! Between the four of us we had the calamari, veal Parmesan and chicken Marsala. Calamari melted in your mouth, veal was nice and crispy still (the best my partner has had!) and chicken Marsala was super tender. Reasonably priced with excellent food!

We were set at a table for two next to a wall which was hot; do not know why when the rest of the resturant was pretty open. However, they happily agreed to move us near the window which was great. The food was good and the wine pour was generous. Highly recommend.

The outdoor patio is a lovely place to dine and I appreciate that it has a high divider between it and the busy sidewalk. Mediterranean salad was superb, eggplant was good, flourless chocolate cake tasted very much store-bought, with too much frosting to seem authentic. Wine pour was generous, service very attentive. I'll be back but will order a different entree. This was ~my 5th visit here.

We decided to give this place a try. We really loved the food, my husband had the osso buco and I had the pork tenderloin. Service was slow, and we never really knew who our server was. We were offered dessert menus by two different employees before we got them. Our appetizer was brought out and the server said he would be back with plates. Then we saw him serving food to other tables and we just ended up using our bread plates for the appetizers. We were halfway done with the appetizers when we finally got the plates.

We went for the first time to this restaurant on Sunday, for Mother's Day, our table outside and was quite nice. The meal was decent, nothing extroidinaray - but at the end when we went to present our Restaurant.com coupon - they told us that since this was a "holiday" they were not accepting coupons. It didn't say anything on the coupon about holiday's - nor were there any signs or mention of a special "holiday" menu. If they would have been a little more appologetic, or offered a small token of thanks for our business perhaps we would return, but now we will exchange the coupon, and never return. There are many great places in downtown Pleasanton to choose from...service is important.
