She's a former chef and foodie and has very high standards for Italian food (you know the type - she says things like "well, this Tiramisu reminds of the one in Orvieto but without so much cream...."). Suffice to say she was blown away by the excellent quality of the food and sterling service. From the first phone call to the time we left the service was amazing. I had called 2 different times to modify my reservation, and each time the person taking my call was more than understanding to my needs and more than willing to accomodate me! I had arranged for flowers to be delivered, they took the initiative to take them out of the box and arrange them in the vase and had them waiting at the table for my wife. The food was absolutely amazing, such flavor and distinct sense of pride from the chef who prepared the meal. The prices are reasonable. The service is excellent and the people are very friendly. Warm and welcoming. Our waitress was Tatiana and she bent over backwards to make sure everything was to our liking. Rachid is so outstanding and knowledgable about all the customers it is amazing. When I walked in he let me know that they had gluten free pasta ready for me, which is another reason I love this restaurant. Best ItalianThe food was great. Best Italian in Denver by far including those of more famous chefs. The shrimp Chianti is outstanding. The shrimp were excellent and the pasta with it was even better. Had a lovely bottle of wine from Italy. Good service, they were busy. Bread pudding for dessert also wonderful. This food is like being in Italy. It is located in a strip mall that does not have the greatest appearance from the outside, but I can assure you that you would be very impressed with this little gem once you sit down and are greeted by your server. If there is anything we'd change, it would be to reduce the number of tables by about 1/3, as the tables are a bit close for the small space which Chianti occupies. We have been eating there for years with never less than an amazing meal. Our favorites are the Tortellini al Polo, with it's chicken tortellini's and twists of prosciutto in a gorgonzola cream sauce, and the Chicken Gimignano. It gives great value, has outstanding food, and Fiorenzo gives the quintisential service. It is rare that we order off the regular menu because the nightly special menu always has something outstanding to try.
