Chez Zeelove 2 brunchThe hostess was rather rude to us when we made a reservation and waited an additional 20 minutes. When walking to our table, we noticed plenty of empty tables. We were planning to make Sunday brunch a weekly event, but are reconsidering.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding Pre-Theater Restaurant14 of us descended on Chez Zee for dinner prior to going to the Long Center. Our service was outstanding and the food was too. Can't wait to go back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLunchI have eaten here often and the service is usually good. This time we had at least three different servers, had to ask for bread, tea, mayonnaise, ketchup, water. There were two of us and it was just like we weren't on anyone's list of who to take care of.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMid day lunchThe service and food were excellent. Having an afternoon chat with a girlfriend, we shared the soup and quiche! All are a good choice but we had the Aztec corn soup and mushroom quiche! Yumm6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect! 10 Stars! Awesome!Took my wife to Chez Zee for her birthday dinner. They had the table decorated with a ribbon and a little sign "Happy Birthday Janie!" Service was impeccable. We thoroughly enjoyed the live piano music. The restaurant was decorated nicely for the 4th of July with many red, white, and blue lights and other decorations. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and inviting. Oh, and of course, the food was outstanding! Two days later and my wife is still elated after having "the most perfect birthday dinner ever!" I tipped the hostess, the piano player, and our waiter generously! My only fear is that my wife won't want to go anywhere else in Austin for the foreseeable future! Try the 4th of July Red, White, and Blue Cake! Or the pie! Yum!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood BrunchWe celebrated my BD at Chez Zee for brunch. It was a dish I had not tried before (Shrimp and Grits); but, it was very good. I looked online for the recipe; but, I did not find it. Too bad. It is a good place.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food/Great Wait personWe had 5 for Brunch Sunday, May 19. Everyone enjoyed their food. The surprise, however, was that our waitress was observant
enough to notice it was my birthday (cards and a couple of small presents were opened at the table and sat in front of me). At the
end of our meal, she brought a lovely piece of cake with birthday candle to me, totally unprompted I might add. A sweet and thoughtful gesture on her part, which made our experience at Chez Zee even more memorable. J. O'Neill5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOpen Table, you did it again!Open Table, you did it again! Whenever my husband and I travel, the first place I search is Open Table for special restaurants. You did not disappoint us. We have visited Austin several times and each time, we try another of your recommendations. Chez Zee is fabulous. Our early morning reservation (9:00AM), was very pleasant. We were greeted and taken to our table. Our waitress came to our table in a few minutes. She asked if we had dined there before and because we had not, she brought us EACH a triangle of their famous Creme Brulee French Toast so we could sample. We ordered and were promptly served our selections. All meals were cooked perfectly and all were delicious. CZ, your name has been passed on to friends.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThere is nothing that isn'tThere is nothing that isn't wonderful to eat at Chez Zee! The variety is great and the deserts are too die for! Classy and always festive fun place to go for a special occasion or just a night out.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food Poor serviceTheir food was incredible I loved it as did my date. But the waitress we had was not good. She treated us poorly was kind of rude, she skipped over us and ignored us often. I had to flag her down to get something she never checked on us. She didn't even let me finish an order at one point and just walked off. I feel like maybe she wasn't very good because all the managers were nice and the person who delivered the food was really nice and funny!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GoodEvery time I dine at Chez Zee I'm reminded of what a gem it is. The food is always good, the desserts are top notch (with insanely large portions) and they manage to actually have consistently good servers. All this adds up to place that fits many occasions. While there last there we saw a graduation party, a retirement party, an obvious first date and a few folks like us - just needed to be out on a Friday night. Stay just like you are Chez Zee and we'll keep coming back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu choices with wide varietyMenu choices with wide variety of dishes, wonderful brunch choices and desserts to die for!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Bet In TownMy mom came in from Colorado and I took here there for the atmosphere as well as the delicious food! She was quite impressed as I always am when I go there!!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch on Fire!We visited Chez Zee for Mother's Day Brunch. As expected they were packed so we weren't surprised that we had to wait a few minutes past our reservation to be seated. The Hostess was friendly and the waiting area was stocked with snacks and coffee as well as mimosas and bloody Mary's - so the wait was enjoyable.
Chez Zee has a great omelet as well as Benedict menu with almost too many choices - hard to decide. We chose a variety among the 4 of us and we were all very happy with the outcome. We also ordered their French toast, which is delicious, but very sweet - perfect for breakfast desert!
I definitely recommend Chez Zee for brunch - even on the busy holidays!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe online reservation wasThe online reservation was very helpful and the handicap parking was a accessible and close to an entrance. The food is always good and always a treat.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently GreatI have been going to Chez Zee for many years and love the delicious food, atmosphere, and staff.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFamily Luncheon pt memorial serviceVery quick service, professional. Very light open feeling to this venue. Perfect for a family gathering.
The manager noted we were on a short time fuse due to the memorial service and they had our order prepared
in less than fifteen minutes. Good quality at an excellent value5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at Chez Zee. Great lunchtime menu. I recommend that you make a reservation as the restaurant filled up promptly. People started pulling in at 11:30. I had a reservation for two at 11:45 and was seated immediately.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Chez ZeeThank you Chez Zee for being there for so many occasions. From the piano playing at night, to the great brunches on the weekends to the convenience of NW Hills, thank you Chez Zee and your owner and staff.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous Brunch MenuThey have great menu choices; not your run of the mill Items. I took a friend who does not eat any type shell fish or pork and they had many options available to choose from. The french toast is quite awesome too. The food and service were both quite excellent and a great place for most any occasion.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful as alwaysIn a corner table, my guest and I could talk (hear) all we wanted. The food was superb -- fast and attractive. Thank you VERY much.
Sandra Leitner5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it!Love the food, atmosphere, our waiter Greg, was superb! The desserts are to die for!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious AccidentEnded up here when searching for similar-sounding establishment. Best quiche I've encountered and we returned for dinner following week. Outstanding. If I lived near Austin I would eat here often.
On another level, I accidentally left my purse. When I returned to pick it up, there was an orderly chain of command followed before I retrieved it. So I say not only is there a high level of cuisine integrity, but personal as well.
Thanks so much! We'll be back!!
PS: please don't order the red velvet cheesecake cake, So there will be more for us ;-)5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing entrees and desertsMy wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary. It was amazing! The pork tenderloin was very tender and the cherry sauce on it was awesome! My wife got the trout and it was flaky and flavorful. All of the sides were boss as well. The price is great for the tastiness of the food. About $17 a plate. Be sure and come hungry because you have to have one of their deserts! Two pages of choices! We had the orange chiffon and the chocolate torte, both of which rocked our socks off. I have no complaints about this restaurant, as long as the price doesn't put you off, I highly recommend this restaurant!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMNice restaurant, friendlyNice restaurant, friendly service. Love the new fireplace and patio.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely RecommendOur first visit to Chez Zee and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Nice ambiance, piano player, excellent service, food was delicious (has spinach and artichoke dip as appetizer and grilled salmon as main course) and presentation was well done. Kudos to our waitress and the valet staff for efficiency and service above and beyond. Only downside was the hostess. We arrived timely for our reservation at 8:15pm. While we sat right in front of her she kept seating others ahead of us. When we finally asked what was going on she said she had been "calling" us for 30 minutes on the buzzer. She had input the wrong number for the buzzer - in the meantime, there we sat directly in front of her. However, it didn't deter from a wonderful evening!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, Chez Zee is anAs always, Chez Zee is an imminently usable, reasonably priced restaurant convenient to most of NW Austin. While not quite the ultimate dining experience, the good food, varied menu, friendly service and pleasant surroundings suit many occasions and appetites.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceEnjoyed the pecan crusted chicken and goat cheese salad.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHad my aunt's 94th birthdayHad my aunt's 94th birthday party at Chez Zee and it was awesome!!!!!! There were 7 of us in the group. We could hear each other talking and service was great!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Awesome Birthday!I brought a friend of mine there to have lunch for her birthday. She had the Pecan Crusted Goat Cheese Salad and I had the Chicken Salad Sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent, especially the fries! Bishop, our server, was wonderful. He brought us a complimentary serving of fried pickles, which were also delicious. After our meals, we were stuffed to the gills, but we, somehow, found room for the awesome birthday cake, which was also a gift. It was a wonderful time and I was more than pleased to have given that to my friend. Thank you!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've always loved this place. The food was great. I do wish they had the Calamari. The piano player was very attentive, but the waiter was just passing us like an after thought.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIts just a great, quirky AustinIts just a great, quirky Austin place to go. Our waiter was wonderful, he brought us a special champagne toast AND a serving of creme brulee french toast as an appetizer. The meal was delicious (as always) and everyone found something they could enjoy. We had a vegetarian, a picky eater and a couple of guys with big appetites. The staff is very nice and pleasant.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for Easter BrunchEveryone was so great! Our waitress was outstanding.
We made a reservation for 4 but brought 5 - the wait staff
did not blink an eye about making it work for us. It was
Easter brunch and they were crowded, but they didn't hesitate
about accommodating our extra person.
I love this place!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI usually enjoy chez zee forI usually enjoy chez zee for a romantic date night, but we also try to plan ahead to get a table for their Easter brunch. It's a great combination of upscale atmosphere with child-friendly food and service while being reasonably priced (especially when compared to other Easter brunches in town).
Mimosas and creme brûlée French toast for Mom and grilled cheese sandwiches and face painting and magicians for the kids. Win-win.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Easter brunch at ChezWe had Easter brunch at Chez Zee. Had a good experience. The wait service was outstanding. We enjoyed the magician, face painting and balloons for the kids.
It's unique decor was fun too.
Would recommend the Creme Brulee French Toast.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI always enjoy Chez Zee butI always enjoy Chez Zee but my last visit was not as enjoyable because of the noise. I was in a different area than I had sat before - main room in the corner. Although the piano was wonderful, it was so loud, it was hard to talk. It seemed everyone had to speak loudly, which then made the restaurant even louder! In the future I'll think twice before going to Chez Zee on a holiday weekend unless its late in the afternoon.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMReservations is the way toReservations is the way to go! We got right in! Great place to go!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome Experience! We love Chez Zee especially for large groups! They are always accommodating and the food is great! Great for any occasion or no occasion!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch at Chez Zee!Wonderful find for us. We had the opportunity to meet Sharon the owner, who is terrific. the brunch was excellent. I had the classic eggs benedict, which was perfectly done. My wife had the chicken and waffles and was delicious but huge (she only ate a 1/4 of it). the Mimosa was very good, and we had a taste of the french toast with maple syrup that was fantastic. The service was very good, the noise level was a bit high but not abusive. I highly recomend it for brunch.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWhimsicalWe went to Chez Zee for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was fun and whimsical. Food was very good - there was a lot of variety for brunch. Teenage kids enjoyed it.
