  • "I always love coming here! It is consistently delicious and has great service."

  • "Always enjoy coming to Chez Zee. A very special place, great ambience, food, and DESSERTS! Don't be stressed...have a Chez Zee DESSERT!"

  • "First time here. Although we had made a reservation they were a little behind so we had to wait, but nothing too bad - only 10 minutes. Placed our order without much of a problem and it was really good. We had migas (with sausage added), crab cake benedict, breakfast quiche, kids grilled cheese and a kids choc chip pancake. All were hits. There were a couple of downsides. Waitress asked if we were wanted dessert and we said we would have a look. She brought a menu over. I had to take my son to the bathroom, but shortly after I came back the waitress came by with the bill. It wasn't till we left I found out we never got asked for a dessert order. We were also pretty close to the piano which, while good, was loud too."

  • "ChezZee has been our family's favorite brunch place. The ambience is always fun and family friendly. Food is amazing from French Toast to waffles to eggs benedict. Love their house made croissants with strawberry butter."

  • "It is a bit pricey for drinks and brunch ($55 for two, splitting a meal). The Southern Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict were great. I've also had the Commodore Eggs Benedict which was also great. The atmosphere is really fun and upbeat, with a live piano player doing covers of classics, and the lightning creates a nice mood. Great for Brunch."

  • "Food & service excellent as usual. The piano was a bit loud, it made conversation a bit difficult."

  • "Visiting from California I was looking forward to some of the famous foodie experiences I've been told about. Chez Zee absolutely filled the bill. There are myriad opportunities for excellent food here and I can recommend this as one of the best I've had."

  • "Great food and service. However given its popularity with groups and families, the wait can be a bit long to as people will camp out their tables."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "The food was wonderful as always. However, we were seated under a speaker and could barely hear each other speak. Made it tough for good conversation."

  • "Promptly seated for our 10:30 reservation and greeted by Brittany who was able to navigate us through the very extensive brunch menu. We started our brunch with Bloody Mary's, which were excellent, and the appetizer creme brûlée french toast. So glad Brittany told us about this option since it is very rich and we wanted to try the house specialty but had other entree options on our list. Out of all of our selections, I have to say that the Lobster and Shrimp Omelet ordered by our son was our favorite. Definitely had food envy and look forward to coming back to order it for myself. The ambiance is relaxed and the piano playing in the background made the morning special. Appeared that they can accommodate couples to larger parties well."

  • "This was our first time here in celebration of our 3 year anniversary, the atmosphere was nice and inviting. There was someone playing a piano in the distance and it wasn't too crowded. The food and drinks were good, the fried pickles were delicious and so where the Mexican martinis. I had a tasty prime rib and my partner had the chicken fried steak with mac and cheese and I have to say the mac and cheese was pretty much the best I've had. I definitely recommend this place, there's also a nice patio which I'll have to try out on our next visit. Oh and save room for dessert, they have a great selection! If anything get the peach galette, can't go wrong!"

  • "You always know you will get good food and good service at Chez Zee. I like that there are healthy options on the menu and also decadent desserts available."

  • "We got there and it was pretty empty. they stuck us in a corner and proceeded to fill up every table close to us even though the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. Then, our server would come by to take our order, ask us a question, proceed to turn around, completely ignoring us, without waiting for an answer. The food was greasy and not hot when it came out. we ordered fried pickles - supposed to be the best in Austin! Not so much. The pickles were barely discernable with the amount of grease and coating. And they were cold when they arrived! Finally, we had to ask 3 times to get the happy hour menu - even though it was a Wednesday - which is supposed to be their happy hour all day- day. I don't recommend this place to anyone."

  • "This has rapidly become my favorite brunch spot in Austin. There are always brunch specials which tempt me away from their main menu, which is extensive and great in its own right. If you like interesting twists on a Benedict (my personal fave), this is a good place for you! Always busy on weekend brunch, so a reservation isn't a bad idea, but they do have a lovely waiting area. Piano player also adds to the ambiance."

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Austin. The ambiance is festive and unique as is the menu. Be sure to save room for dessert - all created in house and fabulous. The seasonal red white and blue pie was outstanding as was the desert sampler."

  • "Chez Zee is my wife's favorite restaurant. Though we live about 45 minutes away, we go as often as we can. Delicious foods, presented in great style. Incredible desserts. We had the Go Texas price fixe meal this time. Terrific. Service was also outstanding. And we bought a loaf of the fabulous Crème Brulee French Toast with rum sauce."

  • "I've been going to Chez Zee since coming to Austin in 1991. Sharon and the staff have maintained high quality of food and service. Of course the desserts are great, but I'm a huge fan of the Blueberry and Blue Cheese salad with Edamame. Better make a reservation at lunchtime or for sunday brunch. Valet parking is nice, since the parking lot is often packed at peak hours. A great place for romantic dinners like valentines day."

  • "We went for a romantic dinner. The ambiance is enhanced (at least when we went on a Saturday night) by two musicians plying their jazzy craft on the cello and piano. Our food was great. Service was pretty good. There are actually a couple of vegan items on the menu, which is a nice feature! Although the place doesn't have a snobby upscale feel, be prepared to pay upscale prices."

  • "Been going to this restaurant for years and always love to return for the wonderful food especially their desserts."

  • "Prime rib was flavorless and raw. The desserts here are varied and usually very good. I didn't care much for the spices in the red white and blue apple pie. I keep hoping the food will be better here, as the setting and staff are wonderful."

  • "Food, Service and Ambience are consistent. Great for lunch meetings. Weekend brunch is among best in ATX."

  • "I've had wonderful lunch and brunches at Chez Zee but can't say the same for dinner. Our last two outings there found the entrees and wine selection to be okay, but not tasty enough to bring us back."

  • "Welcoming, together with great service and good food."

  • "Food at Chez Zee brunch was excellent!! We were a small party and the croissants were buttery and the eggs Benedict choices were numerous, French toast options eere yummy!! I highly recommend!!"

  • "Chez Zee consistently delivers on food quality, menu variety, and great service. This has become our go-to for any special occasion. Brunch is outstanding!"

  • "I want to like this place more than I do, but I still am up for mostly recommending it. The food is just ok - I've been for lunch and the weekend brunch and both times it was fine but I wondered if I had "ordered wrong" as it was nothing special and others had raved about it. I've had much better food in a myriad of local restaurants. I like the atmosphere, service and solid menu selections. The parking lot is a pain, though - and the food not worth a long wait, so if it's crowed, go some place else! Otherwise, you will likely enjoy it."

  • "Chez Zee is one of my favorite restaurants because of it's convenient location, ample parking, great service and tasty food. I also appreciate it for being the type of restaurant where you can have a conversation without feeling hearing impaired due to too much noise in the room."

  • "I've only eaten brunch here but it was very good. The menu offers unusual items and the ambience is festive...AND you can make a reservation (love that!). I highly recommend Chez Zee!"

  • "Food and ambiance were good. It wasn't crowded the night we were there, so it was pleasantly quiet. Service was slow, inadequately attentive, and rough around the edges. It was July 4, so maybe it was a fill-in staff person."

  • "Their brunch options are especially great for rich food. I had a reservation and we were seated promptly. However, no one greeted us for over 5 minutes. Just as I was about to get up, our server stopped and said he'd be right with us. Another few minutes went by, but we saw he had about 4 tables seated at once, including a large party. Although I was somewhat sympathetic, their poor planning is no reason I should wait almost 10 minutes for coffee and water. Our server redeemed himself quickly. He suggested how to amp up my coffee (it is too weak) and then "refilled" it quickly. He was pleasant when my companion changed his mind about order particulars twice. I was very impressed with his professionalism. Overall a nice experience."

  • "I really like Chez Zee because of the food, the atmosphere and the service. I also like the piano music. Although they offer gluten free options, none of their bread is gluten free. It would be nice if they could make a gluten free french toast or a gluten free croissant."

  • "Chez Zee used to be our favorite restaurant. The last two times we have been there we have been led to small tables in the corner (even tho we had made reservations way in advance) and the friendly Chez Zee attention and service that made it special were no longer there. We might as well have been at Applebee's. The food was so so. It's too bad but I think we have to find a new favorite restaurant ."

  • "Big sign promoting Happy Hour at the door, but no details. Turns out it's $1 off cocktails (whoopee) and $5 house wines. We asked our waiter what the house wines were and he did not know. He went to check at the bar, came back and named the label but not the grape. Seriously?"

  • "We had dinner at the restaurant on Balcones in Austin after a small wedding. We got there early and they had no problem seating. The waiter was very nice and attentive. This is a great place to have a group or just for two. Thank you."

  • "Chez Zee is a great place for a group of women to meet in north Austin because the location is great for those who need to get on MOPAC, the menu is extensive, the service is consistently accommodating and unobtrusive, and the noise level is low on most week nights so you can hear each other. Even though the menu is sophisticated, Chez Zee has the best chicken fried steak in town in my opinion. My group 3 to 6 meets every other month and we've been to Chez Zee twice in a row and will come back again. It hits all the right notes."

  • "Chez Zee has been a long time favorite and continues to exceed expectations."

  • "Chez Zee is a go to place for me. I really love the menu. It has some staples and some unique items. The shrimp/corn bisque is out of this world. Today I had my favorite salad, the southwestern chicken salad. It's not your ordinary chicken salad--it's a nice blend of jicama, celery, chopped dates, onions, toasted pecans and just the right amount of mayo. Highly recommend Chez Zee for lunch with friends or with business colleagues. The Sunday Brunch is also a local secret--really good especially the crème brulee French toast."

  • "Chez Zee is a wonderfully romantic and quaint restaraunt, with a delightful dinner selection of American cuisine. The ambiance is top notch, with a piano playing in the front that sounds lovely and decorative lights and tasteful art covering the walls. The service is quick, professional, and superb. Finally, their selection of desserts is mouthwatering, whether it be the classic cheesecake or the 4-Layer chocolate cake. Overall a great dining experience, cannot wait to go back again! Would suggest to anyone looking for a cute, romantic dinner/lunch spot, that is well worth every penny."
