A word from Chez Pierre Bistro
Chez Pierre Bistro is an authentic French Bistro, one everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. Most of the dining is in the charming covered patio where the ambiance is intimate, friendly and always very professional. Prepared by Chef Pierre with the knowledge, passion and respect of the seasonal ingredients from the farmer’s market, the food is superb. The specials on the blackboard are impressive, unusual and follow the seasons. In winter you can find Chef Perre’s famous cassoulet to wild game; In the spring shad roe and soft shell crabs; and in the summer you can find paella, steak tartar, and pomme frites.

It’s no surprise that Chez Pierre has been voted The Best French Restaurant of the Desert for the past six years and has been rated “Dining Excellence” by Zagat and Gayot.

  • "We had asked for a quiet table and they brought us to the last table in the restaurant which was fine until the waiter said we had to move as the table had many ants on it. We moved to the next table which was fine; however, a few minutes later they sitted someone else in our first table! The food was excellent, all four of us were extremely happy with our picks. Unfortunately we asked the waiter twice to turn up the air conditioning and it never happened. We then asked the owner who said he would but it never happened! Very uncomfortable evening without air as it was 97 out!!!! Will not go back unless its fixed!!!"

  • "We went for PS Restaurant Week and selected items from that menu and were well rewarded and very full afterward. The Kidneys were very good and well prepared in an excellent sauce. My wife had the Duck Breast which was excellent, as well. As appetizers I had the Anchovies which were not salty or fishy, and my wife the French Onion soup (it is as good as mine - that is saying a lot!). Dessert was a wonderful Rice Pudding and Beignets. The prices are pretty reasonable and we will be returning."

Edgar, our server, was the perfect gentleman and an occasional visit throughout the dinner by Chef Pierre made the experience even more special.   • "We started with an old favorite, the Endive salad, and were told that they had Vichyssoise that day. The Vichyssoise was sublime, reminding me of my Grandfather's, thick, and full of flavor. We had two of the specials of the day, the Blue Crab, (which is seasonal), and the Veal Chop. In a word, delicious! The Blue Crab was oh so lightly breaded and served with an amazing creamy sauce, with a ratatouille-like vegetable dish, some lightly grilled seasonal vegetable, and pomme frite, (delicate, perfectly seasoned string french fries). The Veal chop was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful with the most succulently plump mushrooms, (in a sauce to die for), and creamy scalloped potatoes. Thin Apple Tart, and Beignets made it complete! "

  • "Second visit in two weeks. The soft shell crabs were amazing, although I almost couldn't finish my entree because I could not stop myself from eating way too much bread and pate beforehand. Delicious, everything. Will be back - over and over. We are full time residents, so we'll help keep them in business if they stay open for the summer. :)"

  • "We consistantly enjoy delicious, classic meals at Chez Pierre and our dinner on this night was no exception. My husband and I both ordered fish (sand dabs, orange roughy) entrees and they were prepared perfectly and served with a nice array of veggies. Desert was a yummy profiterole with a great cappacino. We love to support this chef owned restaurant , we are warmly greeted by Pierre and his wife each time we visit."

  • "a table for five shouldn't be on top of one another at another table or ask the other tble to move so you can leave. my friend ordered a steak mediam rare and received it well done and couldnot cut the meat first time we have ever sent a dish back. i really dislike receiving sad dabs with skin i ask the server not to have skun on the fish as you always removed it before he insisted you never removd the skin. my other friend ordered osso boco it didnot fall off the bone she took it home to re cook these are not over the top foodies but know good food and service than you roni eventov"

Although it was not objectionable, it was also not impressive. There are enough other places to eat in the area that excel in all categories that I'll make other choices in the future.   • "The restaurant was full when we arrived but we were seated quickly with our reservation. The decor was somewhat stark and the noise level was extremely loud. No curtains, nothing to soften the sound. Service was just OK and the food was above average but this is not a place for a relaxing quiet meal. I might give it one more try but this would not be a the top of my list."

  • "A party of 8 on a night when the restaurant is slammed full presents a challenge to most restaurants, but Chez Pierre pulled it off flawlessly, everything served at the right temperature and time. A truly eclectic group, no one ordered the same, but uniformly everyone enjoyed the food: hanger steak, ribeye, lamb chops, bolognese, calamari steak, frog's legs, beef bourguigone, skate wing for entrees, superb appetizers including duck rillet, salads, and homemade soups. Corkage fee reasonable, one bottle purchased fair price, profiteroles with candle for a birthday joyfully served."

  • "We had a reservation for 4 people for 6:30 p.m. We were repeatedly told our seating was late but would be "just 15 more minutes" and we ended up be seated more than an hour after our reservation time. Food and service were thereafter average and no one apologized for the delay (we had to sit on a concrete bench outside because the bar was full and is too small to accomodate more than a few people. When it came time for dessert the waiter said they were sorry for our wait and would buy our dessert,,,,,but clearly stated that it would be ONE dessert per person (trust me, we weren't thinking of ordering them all!) Ambiance, attitude and service simply didn't make it worth the long and irritating wait."

  • "I couldn't have picked a better table--a nice secluded place right in the middle of it all. You can't go wrong with any of the seating in the new restaurant. We ordered the endive salads, sand dabs, hangar steak and Ithe bouillebaise, I actually had a hard time making up my mind--. The sand dabs were proclaimed excellent, the hangar steak was a little tough and chewy....But my bouillebaise was the absolute best I have ever had- have been to the South of France and eaten in specific restaurants designed for the stew. PLENTY of fish--the sea bass was excellent; the large prawn was cleaned, the clams were little necks, the mussels were excellent, and the rouille was top notch. Can't wait to go back and try something else!"

The complimentary pate and bread are a great way to start dinner. Along with a nice bottle of Merlot, we nibbled, relaxed and looked forward to our dinner. I had an excellent Boullibase, and my husband had the French Onion Soup and the Steak Poivre. Each of us enjoyed every bite. For dessert, we shared an apple tart a la mode, and how bad can that ever be? We will return again and again to Chez Pierre."

  • "We had reservations for 6:00 put didn't get there until 7:00 so lost our reservations (our fault) so ended up sitting at the bar. We met nice people on both sides so was very enjoyable. The food was fantastic and the company was great. Our only complaint was that there was no one person assigned to the bar so we relied on various waiter to serve us. Pierre cam by a few times always nice to meet the owner. Overall price was reasonable."

  • "We have lived in the area for almost 10 years and never visited Chez Pierre. What a mistake that was? They have moved to a new and larger location that was packed on a Valentine's Day evening. Even with the crowd, the service and quality of food was first class. This is good ole French food. Causoulet (excellent!), veal chop, boeuf bourguignon, braised short ribs, etc. I will have to come back to try many other selections. This apple tart for desert with ice cream was perfect ending. And the celery remoulade to begin was something I hadn't had for years. Well done in every respect."

  • "Saturday night and very busy, yet food came out in reasonable time and wonderful taste, ranging from perfectly cooked veal chop and salmon, superb frog's legs, warming beef bourguignon, and amazing calamari steak. Nicely priced wines (two glasses of white, food-friendly bottle of Rhone), and celebratory desserts, including profiteroles. Of course, Pierre made his way through the restaurant, stopping for a few words to every table, as did his wife. His vegetable side dishes are a major improvement from the former location, ratatouille with olives, au gratin potatoes, assorted carrots lightly braised, all together colorful and flavorful. This is a very special place indeed."
