A word from Chez Pierre Bistro
Chez Pierre Bistro is an authentic French Bistro, one everybody wishes they had in their neighborhood. Most of the dining is in the charming covered patio where the ambiance is intimate, friendly and always very professional. Prepared by Chef Pierre with the knowledge, passion and respect of the seasonal ingredients from the farmer’s market, the food is superb. The specials on the blackboard are impressive, unusual and follow the seasons. In winter you can find Chef Perre’s famous cassoulet to wild game; In the spring shad roe and soft shell crabs; and in the summer you can find paella, steak tartar, and pomme frites.

It’s no surprise that Chez Pierre has been voted The Best French Restaurant of the Desert for the past six years and has been rated “Dining Excellence” by Zagat and Gayot.

You may be tempted to sign up in Chef Pierre’s cooking classes every Monday followed by lunch.

Bon Appetit!

Chef Pierre's food is as good as his personality. He welcomes everyone and stops by each table. The oysters were excellent. The menu offers something for everyone. The lamb shank was fantastic. The braised short ribs were a bit grisly, but very tasty. Desserts were enjoyed by all at our table.

Stayed away after a disappointing cassoulet in 2010 at the former location but returned to check out the new place, and Pierre has outdone himself! Knocked my socks off with menu variety (I had brains), reasonably priced and well selected wines, and super attentive, knowledgeable staff.

We have lived in the area for almost 10 years and never visited Chez Pierre. What a mistake that was? They have moved to a new and larger location that was packed on a Valentine's Day evening. Even with the crowd, the service and quality of food was first class. This is good ole French food. Causoulet (excellent!), veal chop, boeuf bourguignon, braised short ribs, etc. I will have to come back to try many other selections. This apple tart for desert with ice cream was perfect ending. And the celery remoulade to begin was something I hadn't had for years. Well done in every respect.

Honestly feels like you are in a very special neighborhood bistro in Paris. Never disappoints. Pierre and Esther are especially welcoming and the service is great. Pierre is a wonderful Chef. I also loved their old location next to Trader Joes, but this is much better....A true Neighborhood Gem!

Saturday night and very busy, yet food came out in reasonable time and wonderful taste, ranging from perfectly cooked veal chop and salmon, superb frog's legs, warming beef bourguignon, and amazing calamari steak. Nicely priced wines (two glasses of white, food-friendly bottle of Rhone), and celebratory desserts, including profiteroles. Of course, Pierre made his way through the restaurant, stopping for a few words to every table, as did his wife. His vegetable side dishes are a major improvement from the former location, ratatouille with olives, au gratin potatoes, assorted carrots lightly braised, all together colorful and flavorful. This is a very special place indeed.

In a quieter location with free valet parking, Chez Pierre is more accessible. You'll get the same warm welcome, complimentary paté with that fantastic crunchy-crust French bread, an excellent pour on drinks, and food that is truly prepared with love and thoughtfulness. You won't find better beef tongue anywhere else in this Valley, ditto the fresh anchovies, the calamari steak, the sanddabs, and my all-time favorite salad: Frisèe with poached egg and bacon, with the most delectable of dressings. Ooh la la!

Complimentary valet service was a nice hello. We liked the bistro decor at the new location. The French photographs, music and server's accent transported us to Paris (there were also mini Eiffel Towers on each table). Dinner started with irresistible complimentary liver pate and wonderful bread. The sand dabs were melt in your mouth delicious. The daily special was veal pot roast. Our friends said it was tender and delicious, too. I can't wait to go back.

Great quality lamb chops must have been from Colorado perfectly prepared med-rare coated with herbs for a simple and very delicious entree. Cassoulette was really good and of course those wicked pomme frites and beignettes are not to be missed. Pierre is a gem and the wait staff very attentive, the new location is a win!

New Year's Eve, so the restaurant was pretty crowded, and perhaps noisier than usual. Chef Pierre did come by, but there was really no time to chat with us newbies, since there were regulars to greet as well. The meal was very tasty, the onion soup was great, the bread was warm and the complimentary pate delicious and very spreadable. We had the donuts with whipped cream, chocolate and caramel sauces for desert -- an excellent choice!

Food was outstanding. Perfect escargot. Cassoulet was a huge portion but delicious. Chocolate mousse was devine. Our waiter seemed to be in a hurry. They did not have some wine which was on their list. If you want to have a Mimosa or a screwdriver, forget it, they don't carry orange juice.

The duck breast was excellent and the frogs legs a unique treat. Service was good, but the ambience left a little to be desired. Like most restaurants of this size, they try to put in one or two tables too many which can leave one feeling like you're "dining" with the group at the table next to yours. We arrived at 6pm for our reservation and only two of the tables in the restaurant were occupied. Even so the hostess insisted that she couldn't seat our party of two at a table for 4 because of later reservations. By the way, the two occupied tables were tables for 4 occupied by 2 people. By the time we left, parties of two we're seated at two of the tables for 4 we requested. A slight like that make me reluctant to return.

The food was very good, nice menu choices, we had cocktails so did not take advantage of the wine list. It it looked fairly extensive. There was one large group of about 12-15 so the notice level was somewhat high but not uncomfortable. The chef Pierre came out among the diners several times to talk and his French wife also acts as maitre di, both very pleasant. They have done a nice job fixing up what was an ok Chinese place before. We ate at 6:30, few diners, but by the time we left about 8:00, it was full. We would go back.

I think the place is still working out it's problems in a new location. Two of the wines we ordered were not available as was one of the specials. The food was just fair and that was a surprise. We had eaten at the old location on numerous occasions but this meal was not up to the chef's usual standards. Low on seasonings. Almost no garlic in the escargot. Other entrees were bland. Cannot fault the staff. Very professional. Meal was, sadly, bland

The charm lost from the trees, lights, birdhouses, and other touches in the original restaurant pales in light of the charm of the Chef and his wife, everyone is made to feel welcome. The new menu touches complement the retained ones, which seem to have improved. The frog's legs were coated in a lighter and crispier way, the vegetables have been tremendously improved from the succotash type staple of the past, the braised foods, this time oxtail, are so rich, tender, and delicious that licking the bowl is a real possibility. A brand new dish, risotto with duck and bone marrow, appeared to have cheese laid on in strips and melted at the last minute, rather than stirred in as is usually done. Delicious nonetheless. Wine at good prices.

I must admit I missed the outdoor patio seating of the former location, but the menu still have all the favorites, and the food quality remains high. The poached skate special was especially good, as was the starter of escargot. A companion loved the chopped steak Alsatian-style, but another's beef bourguinon (usually excellent) was a little overdone on this visit. Still one of the best lists of reasonably-priced, high-quality French wine in the desert.
