I had been waiting years to go here and I was not disappointed. It was very nice to have a simple meal. We felt like we were in someone's living room, eating really wonderful food. Everything was great, and it was not too much food. They made sure to write a little "Happy Anniversary" note on the dessert! Best place we could have chosen for my parents 25th Anniversary Dinner.2/7/2013 12:00:00 AM4 Star Food at 5 Star PricesMy wife and I have eaten at the Chez Panisse Cafe many times over the last 25 years, but this was the first time we've eaten at the Restaurant. We're we impressed? No. Dinner was excellent - locally sourced fresh ingredients, perfectly prepared and seasoned - but the same can be said of the Cafe and it costs half of what the Restaurant will set you back. The room is nicely done, but it's very narrow - it feels cramped - and man does it get noisy. If I'm going to pay a couple of hundred bucks for dinner, I expect to be able to talk to my lady in conversational tones. The wine list is expensive, although if you look hard enough you'll find some bargains. Service was warm and friendly, but VERY slow. Next time, we'll go back to the Cafe.2/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
