From the warm welcome at the front door to the chef's nightly round of the tables to insure all are enjoying themselves, I always fully relax--for I know I'm in for some delicious pampering. I also like how whether I'm there with business colleagues, friends, or family, and whether I'm in work clothes or my jeans, I fit in. Unlike other French bistros in the city, you don't ever feel intimidated about knowing/not knowing the food or the wine; it's a totally pretension-free place. I never went to Cafe Bernard (the restaurant that was previously here), but I'm sure glad I visited Chez Moi. The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable and I can't wait to go back. We tried a bevy of menu items and were thrilled with all of them. Like I said, this was my first time, but if it's consistently like this, you really can't go wrong. Asked to split a three course special (we don't a lot and the three courses was more than enough for the two of us) and the waiter had a complete deer in the headlights response. Then our soup and salad arrived at the same time. The main entree arrived before we were a quarter of the way into the soup and before we touched the salad. We had a table covered with food. We still enjoyed ourselves and the cassoulet and onion soup were outstanding. Get the Brittany cake and white cheese ice cream for desert. Chez Moi is the exception. On Saturday, it was thriving with 60% of the seats filled at 6 pm. By seven nary a seat to be had. Riesling is not always found in a French restaurant. There was no problem here. All though very busy, we did not feel rushed. Our waiter was on top of our care.

French bistro sounded delightful! We had the onion soup, escargot, cassoulet, scallops and chocolate mousse. Food and wine was amazing- everything was good! The baked cheese on the soup was delicious! Escargot with garlic - piping hot! (be sure that you like garlic). The casoulete - so rich and flavorful with a leg of duck, pieces of lamb and 2 pieces of some sort of sausage to die for! Scallops with bacon cream were delicate and really good with polenta. Chocolate mousse dessert - just perfect and cool with pieces of caramel. Person on the phone was delightful. Just go, relax and enjoy the food! Décor reminded us of a "Flemish renaissance painting" more than the traditional "US French bistro" so as a Belgian I felt quite at home! An enjoyable evening.

They gave each table and guest party hats and candy around 10:30... And the place was rockin with laughter and conversation!! Amazing duck confit and beef Wellington! Great ambiance and crowded but when we arrived for our reservation we were seated immediately! The kitchen sits between the two main dining rooms which is fun because the chef and other cooks were friendly and talkative and energetic which spread throughout the entire restaurant!
