  • "We had the great service with a great smile, although she was the only one serving with one bus girl. "

  • "The food at Chez Daniel is always consistent and good...however our server Ben was amazing. Ben's engaging personality, energy about the menu and attentiveness made for a lovely dinner and a perfect place for a birthday dinner. It is a bit of an unknown destination and I recommend it highly!"

  • "Once again we had a wonderful dining experience at Chez Daniel! The service and food was exceptional. I cannot fault the restaurant with anything, every detail was seen to. Truly one f Minneapolis' great restaurants."

  • "Food and service were great! The only thing that wasn't perfect was the tight area of trying to get your food for brunch. The layout needs to be revamped. It felt like you were crawling over people, otherwise great!"

  • "French food, the way it was meant to be served. Not trendy, just classic. The fish was cooked so perfectly, I can remember when (outside of France) I last had it so perfectly cooked. My friend ordered salmon, which is not normally my favorite fish as it is either over or under cooked, but it was so perfectly done I would order it any time. The sea bass with morels on risotto was also perfectly prepared and balanced. The appetizer - sea scallops on potato cakes with hollandaise was delicious. Staff is that marvelous mix of professional and sociable without being intrusive. Food is prompt and hot, empty plates are removed magically and glasses or coffee cups remain full."

  • "A top five brunch in the Twin Cities. Something for everyone... choices, choices, choices. And if you don't see it, they will try to provide it. [e.g. poached eggs] Vibrant crowd of travelers and locals; Singles, couples, families, and large parties all served expertly by well trained staff. Will be back again!!!"

  • "We have been many times to Chez Daniel for diner and brunch and ALWAYS it was a perfect place considering the quality of food, the excellent service and the elegant environment. We will keep coming."

  • "Awesome!!!! Going back again, have already made a reservation. My family loved it too. We even stayed in the Hotel afterwards which also was awesome."

  • "Beef medallions and lamb chops were very good. Groupon was a great food value"

  • "We went there on a Saturday evening. There was an event area next to our table (separated by an iron fence), as a result, the noise took away from the great food. The Scallop appetizer was to die for and my Sea Bass was the best I've had. The only downer on the food was the desert - my Chocolate Cake was more like fudge than cake and it didn't taste very fresh (might be frozen)."

  • "My food was a little heavy on the burnt taste, but maybe that is the way the French like it."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The only complaint we have was we sat out in the "terrace" and there as a special event going on in the hotel lobby so it was noisy and distracting to the usual ambience of the dining room! Food was great as usual!!!!!"
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "The food was good however it's right in the middle of the hotel and so it was not a great date place. There was a wedding reception going on at the hotel during our dinner so parking was a nightmare and there were tons of people and kids running around and the buffet line was six feet away from us."

  • "The Living Social menu at Chez Daniel was a 3 course chef's tasting menu with wine. Each course offered several enticing options. In addition to the delicious food, Chez Daniel has marvelous, quiet, romantic ambience with multiple intimate dining areas. Very elegant extras such as the palate cleansing raspberry sorbet and the chocolate dipped strawberries add to a beautiful dining experience. We've dined here four times within the past year and Chez Daniel hit it out of the ballpark every time!"

  • "It was a bit difficult to find this restaurant (go to the Bloomington Embassy Suites) - the food was quite good - service was also very good - the ambiance was a bit odd. Over all a good experience."

  • "First time at Chez Daniel for brunch. Went mostly for the food and were not disappointed with the quality and selection. The low feelings made it feel a bit closed-in. Service was attentive and pleasant. Dessert selection was wonderful. We'll be back."

  • "I was given a living social coupon has a gift so I used it. Not a fan of French food really, but this stuff was great."

  • "Had a LivingSocial deal. Was treated very nicely, have not had that experience when using coupons at other establishments Had a seperate LivingSocial menu. Very good food"

  • "This bistro is about as French as a burger. Lunch menu had one item you would find on a real French menu, but was loaded with burgers, Reuben's, and fish tacos. Poor shrimp rizzotto drizzled with bad balsamic."

  • "The Groupon Tasting Menu was a nice surprise. There were many options and the portions were of a good size. Our waiter was enthusiastic and although he seemed very busy, he gave us great attention. His suggestions were spot on. Chez Daniel has always been a favorite of mine. This experience was particularly enjoyable."

  • "I really don;t like the decor and ambiance, but I tried it again anyway. Service was supurb and the food really above expectations. A good solid value, despite the lack of physical appeal and serious need for remodel."

  • "The brunch was one of the best I have experienced in a long while. It was a wonderful experience for all of us and will make it a monthly happening. Food is excellent. And beautifully presented"

  • "The food was excellent! Would have been very expensive if we had been dining full price, but I think it would still be worth paying full price. The service was acceptable. The ambience was not great given we were basically in the hotel atrium with only some fake plants between us and the free hotel buffet. Overall I would happily return."

  • "After years of wondering about the restaurant we got a Living Social coupon good for a three course dinner including wine for two. The service was very good, but the food was mediocre - too much garlic with the escargot and the lamb was over cooked. Even though it was "free", the bill showed what the price was - after all we needed to leave a tip. I never would have paid what they said it was worth. Even the discounted amount we paid for the coupon seemed a little high. No plans to ever go back."

  • "I can't say that I would or would not recommend Chez Daniel. The food was good but not spectacular for the price paid. My pet peeve as a former caterer, is to thank the staff for something served or taken away and receive the response be "no problem". It shouldn't be a problem...it's part of the job. It was not our server but the man bussing the tables. When waitstaff says "no problem" or asks "are you still my working on that?" ' it has a direct negative impact on their tip. I recommend a little training. All on all, it was a good experience. I don't think I would seek it out a a destination with all the competition in the area."

  • "We love to dine at Woolley's-Embassy Suites-Airport. Thought we would give Chez Daniel a try after reading so many positive reviews. This restaurant was not easy to find. No signage to direct you. The tap beer selection is so sad! Nice entree selection. We found service just average. Presentation of our food, not so special. Steak. medallions looked weird. Big pile of mashed potatoes with beef placed on top then another layer of mashed potatoes on top. Not so pretty. Food tasted just fine, but nothing I would rave to my friends about. Manager brought us some chocolate covered strawberries which was a very nice treat! Sadly, I would not recommend going out of your way to find this place. There are so many better places in this price range."

  • "We would not have gone here except we got a good deal thru Living Social. But we are glad we went. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The food elections provide a wide variety and both my wife's and my selections were delicious and well presented."

  • "This used to be our go to restaurant. We loved everything about it. But each time we have gone in the past few month we have found it to be more disappointing. The food and service is still good. But the menu keeps changing with the prices going up and the value going down. My husbands favorite dish there was the escargot. They used to serve 6 in an incredible sauce. The price went up and this time he only got three. They used to give a delightful sorbet after the appetizer and before the main course. We did not get it. It is still a fine restaurant - but there are others we never tried because we liked it there so much. No more."

  • "The food & service at Chez Daniel is always wonderful ....... especially the French onion soup & lamb chops. Our server, Kim, has been with Chez Daniel longer than most restaurants stay in existence .... a testament to the food & service quality. Highly recommended!"

  • "The restaurant was outstanding. Our server (Laurie?) was very professional and pleasant. Checked on us frequently without being intrusive. She was very knowledgeable and helpful, knowing her menu very well. The food was excellent. The setting was comfortable and quiet. I like the use of multiple areas so people are not on top of each other. I will recommend it to friends."

  • "Located in the Embassy Suites hotel, you can be easily fooled when you arrive. The hotel, like many on the weekends, is teeming with family's with young kids. Don't be fooled by the screaming and running kids or the non descript, sports barish lounge. While Chez Daniel is attached to the sports bar it's a world apart. The resturant is divided into several small rooms, when seated, you quickly forget the hustle and bustle of the lobby. We found the menu interesting with unique items and good variety. The wine list while small has several solid choices, the food was very well prepared, authentic and delicious. Service was real and not pretentious. It was obvious this team cares about your experience and exceeds expectation."
