Chez DanielEnjoyable!Went there for my wedding anniversary - with my kids! Excellent service from the get go - last minute seating change and great service from the wait staff. Food was excellent too - well worth the money!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMwonderful brunchI have been to Chez Daniel several times for dinner dining but had never tried the brunch until this past weekend. The options were plentiful and the atmosphere was still very pleasant that we could hear our conversation at our table without the need to raise voices. The service wasn't as good as it has been for dinner, but then again, it is a brunch buffet. However, they were quite attentive and our glasses were always full and empty plates removed promptly. I would have rate service better, but this time there was a mix up with our bill. Normally excellent service. This is one of my favorite all time restaurants!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasant ExperienceScallops w/potato cakes appetizer superb, generous portion w/a nice presentation. Pear endive salad also very good. Shrimp linguine entree nondescript with questionable seasoning, a bit off; however, lamb chops quite nice, again a generous portion well-presented. Both creme brûlée and profiteroles were luscious desserts. We chose Chez Daniel for a special date and overall were glad with our choice, Even though things got pretty noisy at times atmosphere was friendly and fairly comfortable.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious light mealWe had a really nice, light meal at Chez Daniel. We didn't order much because we were going to another event, but the hors d'oeuvres/starters we ordered were delicious. I had the smoked salmon and a beet salad. My husband had the French onion soup and the mixed seafood sampler. Everything was tasty and creatively plated.
The only negative I would offer is that the entrees are very expensive--many around the $35-$40 level. For a restaurant inside the Embassy Suites hotel, this seems high and inconsistent with the feel of the place. I can't say whether those entrees were worth the price since we didn't try them.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMChez Daniel will transport you awayWhat a terrific place! We love finding new places, even with food we are familiar. We weren't expecting something so beautiful in Embassy Suites. The ambiance felt Mediterranean, the food was well presented and delicious, the service friendly and just enough. I love the watermelon with feta salad. The lamb chops were well seasoned and nicely grilled. He had the Sea, Land and Air and loved it. We have told a lot of others they need to try Chez Daniel, and we will be back. Certainly back for New Year's!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceI enjoyed my meal but it was the service that made the experience truly memorable. It is not too often that you have the perfect wait staff.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA favoriteBest Sunday brunch in the area. The salads and other antipasti are outstanding. Great omelets and very good desserts. Love it!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMChez Daniel's BrunchA friend and I had the Sunday brunch at Chez Daniel and were impressed by the variety and creativity of the choices. It was not overdone; just simple, delicious choices including bouillabaisse, a delicate white fish with couscous and lemon and peppercorn beef tips to name a few. The service was very good and non-invasive. The diners were diverse, including a family with two small (and cute) children and a large table of middle aged women (like me). I would highly recommend Chez Daniel for brunch.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ServiceI had a Senior with a walker with me. The staff was very accommodating.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around great experienceWe dine at Chez Daniel regularly. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is always excellent. There are great selections for those that just want a "normal" great meal of salad, steak and potatoes, as well as great choices for foodies that want something unusual (e.g. the pear salad.) There are a few nice extras like a palette cleanser between salad and entrée, as well as chocolate covered strawberries after the meal. The seating is comfortable, and the noise level is low enough that you can enjoy the conversation at your table. The staff is attentive and caring.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe walleye was excellent. The walleye was excellent. Great place for business or friends or love.
Food is the finest, prepared as it should be. I would go there nightly if I could afford it. My wife has Altzheimers, and they couldn't treat her any better than they do.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxingI love dining at Chez Daniels it is great for a romantic dinner. From the greeting at the door, to the service at the table to the presentation of the food it was top notch. The food was some of the best, if not the best, that I have eaten anywhere.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe prime rib was excellent. The prime rib was excellent. The wait staff very attentive.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBig beautiful brunchTops in all respects, including fine value. Hotel parking (when hotel is filled can mean looking for a space, but they are there). If it is not available on the brunch buffet, you do not need it!!! Service is ++; used plates are cleared and beverages refilled without asking. Eggs really made to order, and if you wish a muffin [not out] just ask. Could not be happier in our choice4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food! On the moreWonderful food! Our appetizer of Sea Scallops over little potato pancakes was delectable. The scallops were HUGE, absolutely the most tender I have eaten, sweet, succulent with a delightful crunch on the exterior. The potato pancake was a delightful accompaniment.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe closest thing to diningThe closest thing to dining in Paris without the air fare! Great food and great service! Merci!!!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the Sunday brunch. We had the Sunday brunch. Food was good and fresh and there was a wide assortment of breakfast, dinner, and dessert items available. Our server was accomodating and very good with refilling our beverages.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOnly complaint is that itOnly complaint is that it took really long to get our entrees. The waiter said that they would be ready in 5" and it was at least 20" before we received them.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food with very goodDelicious food with very good waitstaff attention. Lots to eat so there is generally a "doggybag" going home for an additional meal.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were veryFood and service were very good. The waiter mad suggestions and we went with those suggestions for app and entree and all was very good. Rack of Lamb is what i had and the season was great and it was done just as i asked Medium Rare.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service!Great food, and great service by our server "Peter". Chez Daniel consistently delivers great food and service, I would recommend it to others consistently!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed everything aboutWe enjoyed everything about our meal there! We were celebrating my friend's Interior Design test and each course was fit for the occasion.
We started with Pate which was very tasty! The baguette was fresh and delicious, less crusty than I like sometimes but so good. I chose Chicken En Croute for my entree and my friend chose the Brie Chicken. Both of us ate nearly all of our plate! Because our food was so good, we took a dessert home to share later.
Our server was excellent and very attentive to us. He made recommendations, was very friendly but also did not bother us too much either, which we appreciated.
I would definitely go back because of the quality of the service and the food!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not know it was in a Hotel(EmbaDid not know it was in a Hotel(Embassy Suites) and for that, we almost walked out as I had gotten the impression it was in a quiet little bldg. The Hostess, however, possessed an engaging manner and we decided to try it out. Had a good meal and all staff were helpful and courteous. Excellent staff. Pleasantly surprised, and will go back.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service! GoodGreat food and service! Good place to go if you eat gluten free as they are very accommodating.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wine list is small. It'sThe wine list is small. It's in an Embassy Suites hotel in a rather inconvenient location. Yet, it's a great place to dine - our new favorite French restaurant in the Twin Cities. Foie gras was good, not great. French onion soup was great. Sea bass may have been the best preparation my wife has ever had. The shrimp and scallop entree was excellent, served with a sauce (which was oversalted, sadly) French lentils, sausages and fingerling potatoes. Portion sizes are actually too big, but most people in the mid-west won't complain about that. Food is prepared perfectly - shrimp, scallops, and sea bass were tender and not overdone. We will definitely be back.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster BrunchIt was our second visit, our first time was during a blizzard and we thought perhaps the fabulous service was the result of there not being many customers. We were wrong! We went for Easter brunch and the place was full but the courtyard tables were arranged so as not to incur the "excuse me, excuse me" while balancing your items on the return from the buffet. Our cups and glasses were never allowed to get empty and the staff really seemed positive and ready to serve and worked great with each other!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMIn the week before EasterIn the week before Easter Brunch their menu was not yet posted. I called as one potential guest had specific food desires.. ham and au gratin potatoes. The person at
Chez Daniel confirmed thier menue was not yet available but assured me "We ALWAYS have ham and we ALWAYS have House Potatoes which are dressed up au gratins". They had no ham. They had hash browns (not browned) and mashed potatoes. Our guest who joined us was disappointed. I spoke with the Manager, Kathy, today and she apologies for the disappointments and understands that we will not be joinging them again next Easter Brunch. This was our second consecutive. Wonderful selections mostly. Their cream of mushroom soup is a very good one.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe salmon and chicken marsalaThe salmon and chicken marsala were quite delicious. We were hoping for a more romantic atmosphere, but it was comfortable.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMChez Daniel continues to provideChez Daniel continues to provide good food and service. Our wait staff was very helpful in selecting entree's according to our preferences. Extras one can expect is a small serving of sorbet to cleanse the palate prior to the main course, and a chocolate dipped strawberry at the end of the meal.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was marvelous. Not trendy,Food was marvelous. Not trendy, classic and perfectly prepared. The three appetizers we chose were amazing. The huge scallops melted in your mouth. The shrimp were so large they required cutting into bite sizes - tender and tasty. The three salads we chose were also the nicest pairings I have had lately. Dinner was so nice, we went the following day for probably the finest brunch I have had in 25 years. I am in a wheelchair and they nicely accommodated the three of us. Oh, and if you go for brunch don't miss the brie or gooey goat cheese on a fresh croissant. And our waiter was that perfect combination of "always anticipating your needs and unobtrusive." All staff was friendly and professional.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWE really enjoyed dining hereWE really enjoyed dining here tonight. Great food and great service.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Brunch in the Twin Cities.Best brunch in the twin cities. We have been to them all. Has an omelet bar, prime rib on Sundays, large shrimp, salads, breakfast and dinner choices, and a table of desserts. They have very high standards, not ordinary food. For Sunday brunch, you must have reservations because it is very popular. Wonderful ambiance in restaurant or in natural light atrium. Service has improved immensely in the last year during brunch. Food was always excellent. This is a five star restaurant, and I have only given that to one other restaurant.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBest standing lamb roast in the TCOutstanding food once again!!!!Peter was a great server (and a new one for us)...one of the best we've ever had (although Christian can't be beat with his wonderful French accent). Keep up the great work on what is absolutely the best Rack of Lamb in the twin cities! Thank you to Chef Daniel for running a first class activity.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service duringThe food and service during brunch at Chez Daniel was fabulous. Will defintely return!12/23/2012 12:00:00 AMWhen my husband's childrenWhen my husband's children come to town, we come to Chez Daniel. They are 'older' now and still love the CD.9/2/2012 12:00:00 AM
