A fantastic find on rue St DenisWOW! We found this restaurant through open table, and I embarrassed to admit we live only a few blocks from it and never noticed it. It truly is a "neighbourhood gem." Menu was a chalk board and super creative, with lots of variations so everyone got something he liked. Interesting wine list, and the server was more than happy to help with suggestions. And prices are very reasonable! Anglophones, fear not - the owner is very fluent and learning to say "squab" in place of "pigeon!" We'll definitely be back.9/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a fabulous meal atWe had a fabulous meal at Chez Chose - service was spectacular and the food divine. My husband has Celiac disease and is often required to compromise on restaurant meals...this was not the case at Chez Chose. Thanks!9/3/2013 12:00:00 AMA GREAT findIn Montreal for the Grand Prix. This was our first dinner of the weekend and it was a treat. Innovative and adventurous cuisine coupled with attentive and friendly service. All of the dishes our group of four had were excellent. The smoked tartare was incredible; the chef's sample of headcheese was uniquely delicious; and the entree's were all excellent (duck, rabbit, seafood and pork). Everything is creatively prepared without the pretentiousness of many restaurants. Well done.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good restaurantthe food is excellent, the menu is original, explaining the menu is extraordinary6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food. Charming host. This was our second visit, and once again, we were not disappointed. This restaurant is well worth the chore of having to find parking. Better yet, take a taxi and enjoy the experience. Everything was delicious, and we were made to feel welcome. We went with guests from out of town, and they are already recommending it to their friends in case they are ever in Montreal.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWarm and DeliciousHad a great dinner here. The food was fresh, uniquely prepared - obviously a talented chef in the kitchen. The owner was incredibly warm and hospitable. He went through the entire French menu, not only translating but providing very thorough descriptions of everything. Very relaxed and unhurried.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Montreal's best! For a full week my wife and I dined in Montreal's finer restaurants. It was our first visit to that city. I had compiled/cross-indexed/culled restaurants from sources such as Bon Appetit, Travel & Leisure, Yelp, Frommer's, Fodor's, local newspapers & various websites to compile our possibilities. We had some gloriously fantastic meals—Montreal is ooo-la-la food-wise!
Chez Chose was one of our absolute FAVORITES. The food is inventive and delicious, the service is fun and integral to having a great time. The description of the menu by your host will get you salivating. And the prices are very reasonable!
Bottom line: If we were flying back today for another week, we would make a reservation at Chez Chose immediately. You will love it!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA great "rendez-vous" !Une rencontre improvisée (organisée seulement qqs jours auparavant)

The restaurant was quaint and comfortable. The food was to die for! We were a party of three and each of us enjoyed appetizers, our entrees and desserts. This is a place I will remember for a LONG time!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food great peopleExcellent selection of appetizers and main courses. Very friendly staff. Will definitely return.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food, lacking decorIt's a shame this place isn't more popular. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly and funny. The decor is unfortunately lacking, which might be the reason it's not more of a hotspot.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AM
