I really enjoyed my almond crusted grouper with the special sauce and berries, oh wow! it was wonderful! I can't wait to come back !"

  • "I have been here 6 times since Febaruby and still love the place but this time I wasn't impressed with my waiter or the handling of my food. The waiter was nice but I have had better service there. Our food was room temperature like it had been stilling there for a while. I sent my steak but only for it to be well done not red as I requested. I would seem they wouldn't just warm up the existing steak; however, start a new one. The manager was attentive and addressed our table. I'm sure the next time will be better."

  • "While attending a conference at the near by Marriott we were directed to Chequers as being a great place to eat and within walking distance. When we arrived we were greeted cordially by the staff and shown to a pleasant corner of the dinning room. After reviewing our options we decided to go with the Prix Fixe option. We started with the Lobster Bisque, followed by filet and seared scallops and topped off by creme brûlée. It was a wonderful meal complimented by very capable service. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. Not sure I could have followed the trail to this treasure of a restaurant, but now that I have discovered it, I will be back. Cheers to a great place and a great staff."

  • "Visit was for my 50th birthday. Restaurant was not ready for us. We were told we would have to wait a few minutes for a table, then told the buffet was not ready, and we would have to wait. The waiter took our drink order and told us we could proceed to the buffet. As we walked toward the buffet, we were told it was still not ready. We were asked to sit back down. AWKWARD! A few seconds later we were told by a manager to go ahead to the buffet, but that some items may be missing. It was 10:30am by then and items were not ready? I ordered a decaf coffee, it took 25 min to get that coffee. The waiter explained the coffee wasn't brewed in a big coffee maker so he had to brew it in a smaller coffee maker. Disappointed this time!"

  • "Enjoyed the atmosphere. Restaurant is centrally located in Perimeter and was very busy during lunch. We had a large table of 8 and enjoyed the privacy of our own room. Chairs were a little rickety. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate it a 5 and for that reason I will likely not return to the restaurant. I was very disappointed with the shrimp and grits. Grits were watery.....being that the restaurant is located in Atlanta, GA, I expected and have had much better! Sauce on grits was not appeasing. The scones were dry and brittle. Overall group consensus was that food was disappointing, with exception to one co-worker who reported that the crab cakes were very good and light (not heavily breaded as they can sometimes be)."

  • "Pleasant, knowledgable server. The food was good, though not great. I had the Atlantic Salmon with asparagus, and green beans as my two sides. The asparagus was a bit woody, but overall the food was good. My colleague had the chicken pasta. He seemed to enjoy it though the sauce looked oily. The server did not rush us even after we finished our meals."

  • "I have been to Chequers numerous times. Like always, the food was good. You won't be blown away, but it is reliable. The lobster bisque and the crab cakes are always very good. The main problem this go round was the service. We had a younger waiter that was more fit to be serving wings at a bar versus working at a nicer restaurant. My boss 1.) ordered a drink before dinner and it was given to me. 2.) ordered a glass of wine with dinner and was given the wrong wine. 3.) ordered a steak with potatoes and ended up with a steak and asparagus. In addition, the customer we were entertaining did not get the crab he ordered with is steak. If you're going to pay the prices for a nice meal, the service should match. It did not on this occasion."

  • "Overall dinner was pretty good…..but for the dinner menu pricing there are better restaurants in Atlanta. For example, the following day we dined at Bistro Niko in Buckhead which has similar menu pricing and some similar items. Both meals were in celebration of our anniversary. At Chequers they acted like they did not receive the note from Open Table, and I had to remind them to tell the waiter. At Bistro Niko the hostess wished us Happy Anniversary as soon as we checked in, and then our wait staff wished us Happy Anniversary several more times. While our waiter at Chequers this time was pretty good….overall they do not provide the service or atmosphere in relation to the menu pricing."

  • "I had a business dinner at Chequers which proved to be a good choice- the restaurant allows for easy conversation since it is not loud and it is easy to find private tables. We both had the fish special , which was very good. The service was slow and not attentive . We ordered desert which we had to remind our server to bring and it was disappointing. Coffee was lukewarm. Our server removed the desert from our check- which was the right thing to do ."

  • "We had been to Chequers before and had a lovely experience so we decided it would be perfect for our anniversary. The first visit seems to have been a fluke. Starting off, the service was wanting. Our glasses went dry multiple times. The server had no personality and was abrupt. While the honey butter was a nice touch, it is common and came with a cold, hard roll. The sushi appetizer didn't even make it to the quality of a Kroger boxed roll. My husband wasn't thrilled with his seafood combo. My scallops and risotto had great plating but lacked flavor. We were so disappointed we decided to go elsewhere for drinks and dessert. Luckily Cafe Intermezzo was down the street ant salvaged our evening. I wish we could have a do-over."

  • "Awesome happy hour! Went with a group of 6 friends. Delicious drinks at a great price. I highly recommend the lemon drop martini & Caribbean Hard Lemonade. Most of the apps we tried were delicious! We devoured the smoked salmon flatbread, goat cheese bruschetta, shrimp scampi, & calamari! The burger sliders were good. The one dish that sorely disappointed me was the one for which I'd braved 285 in rush hour traffic - the Lobster seafood salad roll. You could barely taste the seafood for all of the corn & celery in the salad. And there was a copious amount of salad dressing/mayo. I actually purchased an individual lobster claw to add to my rolls to make them more palatable. Overall experience though - service, food, drinks - was excellent!"

  • "Grabbed dinner a bit early on our way to another event celebrating a special day, and found the service and food delightful. The steak was cooked to order, and was matched with delicious sides (the mashed potatoes were succulent). The crab cakes are always consistent, and never disappoint. The server was attentive without being overbearing, and kept all the balls in the air - as he served other tables (and they got increasing busy). KUDOS to Chequers for a nice evening, and a job well done!"

  • "My husband and I ate here on February 14th and were very pleased with our service. The valet was readily available and courteous with their service. We arrived twenty minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. Chris C. was our waiter for the evening and a true delight. I ordered the gumbo as an appetizer, which was decent. I say that because I've had more authentic gumbo elsewhere. I chose the Jumbo Lump Crab as my entree...delicious! The hubby went with the Mahi Mahi, which was light and well-seasoned. Yes, we would try it again! If you're ever in the Dunwoody area, give this place a try."

  • "I made a last minute Valentine's Day reservation for my husband & I. Neither of us had been to Chequers. We were pleasantly surprised by the service as well as the great food. They had a great Valentine's menu for 2. The before dinner biscuits were amazing and I could cut my Filet Mignon with a butter knife. This is definitely a place that we will visit again."

  • "I went for sunday brunch and I thought it would be a classic setting but is was very crowded and noisy. The food selection was okay, the quality was not bad but i expected the quality to be better since the restaurant is supposed to be fine dinning. The plates and glass cup were very noticeable dirty. I had to pick through plates to get a decent one. I could not drink the water i was served cos the glasses were too dirty and had lipstick stains on them. Thank God i had a small bottle of water in my handbag, my husband and I had to share it."

Tried the grouper...While the taste was what I have come to expect from them the cook obviously felt the fish needed to be void of all moisture. It was almost tough to swallow without wine or water"

  • "I have been visiting this restaurant since the early '80's. It never fails to delight with the wonderful food and service. It also possesses great ambiance. Our wait person on Saturday was truly delightful.....even if I have managed to forget her name. she added to the fun and communicated happily about the wine and food, Chequer's will always be at the top of my favorite restaurants list."

  • "The food menu for Valentine's Day special was not what we expected. Entrees were mainly seafood and the one meat entree was an added price to the "Special Menu." The service was not good. Our waiter brought the salads (first dish) before the appetizer we had ordered. We had just received our cocktails then got salads! "Really??" Then when I asked for more biscuits after the first order, he brought them when we were almost done with meal! Seating was not what I expected either. We arrived at 7:15pm and were seated in a room packed with guests, in the middle of the room, and noisy. It was definitely not the romantic evening we expected for the price we paid. $$$+ Never do Valentine's there again!"
